Reality of making music as a beginner (Avalanche part 2)
Welcome in another video where I show you the reality of how I make music as a beginner producer in my home studio. Last time we were brainstorming ideas for a song, and finally we settled for something. Today we're continuing work on this song - Avalanche. I've recorded a lot of footage, so there's more parts coming. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did (even though it was hard too). I can't wait to show you how it evolved further 😍
Part 1: th-cam.com/video/Zw2SdzPXflc/w-d-xo.html
Music I used in the video:
intro: Augy - Song 26
outro: my cover of West Coast by Lana Del Rey

It's been a while since I was making music, and even when I was, it was always rather irregular. I want to bring more dedicated effort and regularity to this process. Spontaneous video I recorded while feeling low during the weekend. Lonely, small and insignificant. They say it's easier now then ever to reach people if you make art, something creative or offer some services. And it might be true. But there are different challenges now, and it can feel bigger than us. But honestly, I started for real only recently. It might become something, or not. Hi, I'm A...

If you think your talent is so good, you don't need to put in the work, this video is for you. When I was a teenager I started making music and hoped that one day someone would discover me and my career would start. But I didn't even put in that much effort. Over years I learned a bit more about how life works and lost the illusions and hopes for overnight success. But I'm still very excited, a...

Loneliness vs solitude | third places | losing friends

I can feel lonely in a crowd or with a person, and I can feel happy alone. What does that prove? That solitude doesn't equal loneliness. In the recent years I learned to enjoy solitude. It has become my source of strength and self confidence. Feeling good with myself helps me develop relationships too. And enjoying solitude doesn't mean that I don't care about people. I am also a composer/musician, working on putting together my first album of originals and releasing studio sessions and even music videos. I have been playing piano for over 20 years now but never shared with the world until recently. Sometimes it’s hard to keep going when rather mundane music or silly cat videos get hundreds of thousands of views. I find that sharing my own originals is a bit scary because I am sharing a personal part of me. I have decided to stop looking at my video stats and just keep going. Art is about creation, it will speak to someone. Choose the path that has your heart.

The more frustration with other things, like your crappy headphone jack, that will overlap into your overall mentality. Time for some new headphones maybe. I ended up getting the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. Really nice sound. I'm just starting out so it's definately overwhelming knowing where to start and come up with original ideas. I think my problem is i'm too influenced by other music I enjoy, so i find myself humming tunes from other songs..lol One other thing, I have this Olympus VN-541PC Digital Voice Recorder, it's small and fits in your pocket. So if you come up with a tune or a song while out, you can just hit record and save the ideas. Then just play them back later. Good luck with the music.

I prefer the old school approach of writing demos. You can stick to acoustic instruments that always sound great. If you have an idea that sounds good with just a piano or rhodes then you know its something that deserves more polishing. Seems like everyone wants to write, record, produce, sound design, mix, and master all at the same time. Stick to demos so that the creativity can run. I do the wake up early thing as well. I get so much done that way

Subscribed. I'm going on this journey with you. As a beginner music producer I think it's nice to see that you're not the only one that's having a hard time. Being a student (medschool) and also having a part time job makes being creative and just producing music while learning music theory and perfecting your piano skills so much harder. Persistence is the key and it will get us somewhere nice. I'm gonna tell you what I tell myself. Keep at it and you'll succed!

If writing music makes you feel like work, stressed, you have to think about it, it means that the end result will be soulless, bad, inauthentic. Everything I saw in the video is just wrong. The first step should be to learn to play an instrument and some music theory.

This is a really good comment! (Apart from the last sentence maybe, I disagree there is only one right way to start). The thing is, it's not like this all the time. I used to only make music in the moments when I felt inspired and it feels magical. But the problem with that is that if I only wait for those moments, I don't let them happen as many times as they could. And I don't let myself work on the craft in the meantime. So by adding some regularity to my process, which is what I'm currently trying to do, I want to make room for magical moments to happen, and to consistently improve my skills. And yes, in this video I mostly struggled and I wasn't a fan of what I was doing with the song either! I will talk about it in the next one I think. And some things I like are happening later, and I got those magical moments. But that's a story for another video:) Learning new things, trying to figure it out and struggling are totally valid parts of the process. And it's okay to feel frustrated and not always inspired. I can still work on the craft. Thanks for your comment!

@@hedera-and-woods my voice is coincidentaly quite similar to thom yorke's. 12 years ago i spent one entire year recording hundreds of vocal takes for my cover of radiohead's nude. i nailed it so much that youtube thought that i was publishing material from thom york himself, and my video was erased. then one pretty girl called Hayley Richman did a newbie mediocre cover and she got thousands of views almost inmediatly. it is unfair. as the expert on that particular song, spending one entire year i could truly see how much she sucks. but i am not a pretty girl and my attick is not as good looking as her wealthy house. her video has 380k views, she got 103k suscribers, i have 107 suscribers, without the k. and i am actually the inventor of the law of harmony (1995), the only person in the world who has the secret and correct list of all the chords and scales and since 29 years ago. and my voice can hit the 88 keys of the piano. but i am a ugly man, poor. and you only pay, turn into celebrity rich to the beautiful and already rich people who doesn't need help.

Z focusrite raczej ci przyszlo xln addictive keys a oni maja taką wersje napewno.

    • @augystudio
      @augystudio 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

I DISAGREE with arcadepiano. arcadepiano is making it sound simple to be an artist and be creative which is simple not the case. As for brain fog / concentration - YOU have to feed the brain daily. If you are having trouble concentrating. Have a cup of green tea or matcha tea (boil water at 80 degrees, no more, for max benefit) or Have a cup of yerba mate black tea (bring water to full boil max benefit) or here is what i do I drink a cup of green tea or matcha tea and take organic Lion's maine (mushroom supplement) this will help brain focus. You can also buy lion's maine coffee. To clean out brain fog blue berries. 1/2 banana (b-vitamins) or half apple (choline). Leafy greens such as spinach are good as well.

I sank a ton of hours into trying to come up with ideas and take even one of them to fruition, but I realized I'm not that guy. This is pretty spot on compared to what I've been going through. I definitely grew resentful of myself for not continuing on with a good thing I had years and years ago. I'd even try to play something on guitar and instantly be frustrated about my "lost" talent since I was extremely out of practice. I couldn't even play in time to a beat... LOL! For the last two years I've slowly been progressing to getting back to the same level I once was and am about there and even better in some aspects. Another problem I had was thinking that I really want to get back into creating music and thought the solution was to just throw money at the problem and hope something sticks. Anyways, very great advice and inspirational. Thanks! 😁
