The tank in a black sparkle would make an elegant evening piece.
Such a good idea
So enjoy your podcast. I’m going back and watching previous episodes. Love the detailed discussions of the patterns, yarn and of course your thoughts behind the modifications. Appreciating the Canadian content. ❤
The backwards version of the cashmere sweater is so much better!
Jonna from Kim and Jonna podcast highly recommended your podcast. Great viewing lots of fun!
Aggg they are so wonderful!! And so glad you enjoyed the pod! We adore making them!!!
Carmen loved the thistle jumper.Wow the colours and style really did suit Jackie.
Haha thank you and I know, it’s totally meant to be hers!!!
You guys have to trade sweaters they look so good on you. Oh my goodness.
Just started watching (Knit Together with Kim & Jonna reco:-)) I’m hooked. Now I have to binge all the episodes to catch up.
Great podcast!
I am also binge watching your episodes!!! You guys keep me company during my work day :-) it’s been so fun getting to know yall and I love all of your projects!
Absolutely love how your Thistle thorn sweater turned out Carmen!!! It is stunning! 💕
First time watching and I love your podcast! Can't wait for the next episode!
You are so much fun to listen to!!! And all your projects are such teases!! I have Nutiden on my needles right now and I happily blame you Jackie!! You introduced me to Nutiden on a previous podcast and I am lucky that I was able to purchase a few plates. Knitting my second Ranunculus in the most beautiful brown! Now I NEED a Marie Wallin sweater!!!
Omg! All the sweaters are gorgeous! I think I have to knit a Seaton now!, I can’t handle how gorgeous it is! Also, I loved meeting you both at Rhinebeck!
finally finally catching up with this episode, after my unexpectedly-long and challenging visit to the US -- so good to be home! I'd originally imagined driving up from my sister's place for one of the Rhinebeck days, but the prospect of crowds and overwhelm (and Sunday afternoon traffic) kept me from going, so sorry to miss meeting you two IRL, but I'm sure another chance will come. And I'm so impressed with the nutiden Seaton sweater, have just ordered the Marie Wallin book myself! thanks as always for your infectious energy and wonderful laughs.
Firstly - the Thistle Thorn! The Seaton!! I shrieked. GORGEOUS! And they both look amazing on both of you?! How do you do it?!!! Secondly, thank you for this episode. I know you released last week, but it really sustained me through this week ❤❤❤ to you both
Here in Nov 2024 still waiting for the savasana sock recipe! ❤
Hahahaha omg!!!! I will absolutely try to find whatever the hell i did there! But I will say, I’m still wearing and in love with those socks!! Thanks for the reminder!!
@knittingagoodyarnpodcast5765 I think you mentioned a vid for reinforcing a heel?? That alone would be great! Thanks ☺️
Thanks for another great podcast. As usual, I had to stop and go check a couple patterns that you’ve knit. ❤️ The Seaton is definitely on my list to knit. I have pretty admirable Nutiden stash (also thanks to your podcast 🤣) at the moment, I’m slowly knitting on the Serendipity Sweater by Veera Välimäki, holding one strand of Nutiden and one strand of Crux Fibres Yak Fluff. It’s delicious, but I committed to a blanket/ throw for each of my kids for Christmas and that’s taking most of my knitting time. 4 kids. 🙀 lol. It’s going well and I’ll make it. Something I’ve wanted to do for years. Along with each blanket, I will include a letter explaining my choices for the blanket and meaning behind it. And of course, all the love that is knitted into the blanket. ❤ You two have a great way of describing things that I really get the love and connection behind the Rhinebeck experience and fibre festivals, in general. So good. Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️ Ok, now I’m off to check my stash for Seaton possibilities. 😀❤️ oh and maybe Aika. 🤣🤣🤣
I absolutely love your Seaton Pullover Jackie!! I want to make one with the same yarn and colors!
You likely have a local Salvation Army location that provides services and clothing they will take any hats socks coats etc
Omg not the RIM 🤣🤣🤣
I’m making a low ish contrast Lumme, inspired by a prior episode of your podcast. Thanks for a great few hours!
Someone else probably remarked already that 4 decreases make a difference to 8 decreases. I have never worn a hat as a duckbill, but I could be a lot cooler. My Oslo with mohair slides off my head- gave it away. Perhaps more ease would help. I have knit many musselburghs, great in lots of different wools
Any hat with mohair slides off my head so I have decided I don’t have the right hair type. 🤷♀️But I sure love the fabric wool and mohair or wool and suri produces. ❤️
Yay!!!! I knew you two would fall in love with Bare Naked Wools!!! Thanks for a wonderful podcast, all of your makes truly reflect both of your spirits. I'm over the moon that we met in the flesh! xoxo
Wet Coast Wool shop collected accessories that needed to have wool in them to send to needy people in the Yukon (I believe). I don’t remember the organization but they should be able to help you! You ladies are fun and so talented! I love your podcast! Cindy
I love that there are dogs around! It’s life and dogs are wonderful ❤ I really enjoy your podcast it’s real!!
Oh Ladies! You two & your friendship…so darn adorable! Your kind words brought tears to my eyes (and my husband’s too!). Thank you so much for all the love. We are so glad you felt joy in the Fiber MacGyver booth! It was fantastic to meet you & I hope we can do a repeat very soon. 🩵
I just stumbled across your podcast and like it quite a bit! Both sweaters you’re wearing are stunning! Can you tell me where to find the Amy Palko version? Quick flips through Ravelry and Instagram didn’t get me a result…
Wow Carmen! I do not need another WIP but I'm really trying to hold myself back from casting on the Aika. Yours is stunning in lace weight.
What a wonderful podcast! I didn't even finish it before I ordered the Marie Wallin Aran book and inventoried all my Nutiden. Thank you for the most beautiful knits in our knitting community! Your Seaton is so beautiful and creative. I love the hats! And Carmen, your lacy sweater is so lovely. Thank you both!
just found your channel - wow! looking forward to catching up on your back log. love your personalities, how in depth you dive into your projects, style, color pallets… perfect to watch while knitting
I’m in Montreal and have knit accessories for refugees. There’s a few women in my neighborhood who work with several groups that help acclimate refugees and they come to my door to pick up knits but also winter wear my kids have grown out of. I’m sure there’s something similar in the closest big city to you.
Hi ladies! It was a highlight of WA and Rhinebeck to meet you both! Thanks for the shout out for my neon pink Aiki. What fun to knit and wear. Mine took me a week to knit which is amazing- nothing takes just a week! I made the same unintentional ‘mistake’ on the sleeves and was Not going to take out 20 rows of suri lace and it works! Great to hear your recap! You make me want to knit ALL the things!
Dear and darlings! This is the bestest! I’m not even done yet, but had to pause the pod to write and laugh that 1) cannot believe I mis-read the sleeves, they looked bottom up 😂 2) Jackie! Your Beginners Welcome is sooo perfect! And 3) Carmen, I’ve now got to do another mosaic spincycle too-what have you done to me?!
Love love love Carmen’s brown sweater on you Jackie!! You are so cute in it and its a gorgeous sweater.
Yeah...no duck bill with those hats. They are meant to be close to your head, OR slouchy if they are "long".
Love your podcast! RE your musselburgh question. I have knit a few, and I feel like your hat might be a bit too big? or that the ribbing is maybe too stretchy. All my musselburghs (I've done a few with double folded brim and a few without) fit fairly snug around my forehead (probably because stockinette doesn't stretch quite as much as ribbing) and I think that tension makes the top sit nicely. If you're looking for an alternative duck bill toque pattern, I just made a Cheslie toque by Kiyomi Burgin, and I LOVE IT. It's an all over ribbed pattern with some yarn overs and decreases thrown in. I'm already planning my next.
OMG! 😂 so much joy! I am filled to the rim - I mean BRIM - with joy! I laughed so hard, then got choked up at how you describe our Rhinebeck friendships and fiber love. Cheers to the first of many joy bombs together. XOXO Mary Beth
JACKIE OMG! your Marie Wallin is stunning! I can't even wait to finish watching the podcast. I have a ginormous stash of Nutiden and have to knit this. I too have her Aran book. Cannot beilieve you've done it in Nutiden - inspiring - must have. I just accepted a Test Knit for Tania Barley - color work with Tukuwool. You've given me a joyful adventure to plan.
Ladies, you are great! I watch many knitting podcasts but you are first who influenced me! You MADE ME 😂😂😂😊 to order Laine 22 and Cirro yarn from the Fibre. Co. In bright cherry red colour way Mars to make a Christmas top that is light as feather. Loving your bright positive vibes. ❤
Instant Crush
Sorry, wrong pod.
I know this video is an older one but just watching it...YES, the sunset clouds are totally the vibe in your sweater, Jackie! I didn't get that from seeing the skein alone, but seeing it knit up, it brings several memories of when I was a child at a Florida beach at sunset and another time at the pool when I was about 12 (Im 58 now!) and the sunsets looked just like that. I can see those moments in my mind and totally feel what you were going for and it is absolutely stunning and heartwarming all at the same time. <3
Absolute joy to watch your podcast as usual! I've recently fallen in love with woolen spun yarns. I'm currently knitting on the stick season jacket testknit in a woolen spun tweed yarn made with NZ Merino and it is pure joy! I have several single skeins of hand dyed mohair and suri in my stash and so I'm absolutely going to knit at least one Aika - it will be the perfect spring/summer knit for here in New Zealand. ❤ to you both, thank you for all the chatty, giggley knitting inspiration you bring in this space
It was so great to meet you two at Susie’s booth. I love the joy bomb description…my night has been made. 💚
For Jackie's Musselburgh dilemma, I think that the double layer of the musselburgh gives you more structure so it's less pouchy? I also think you need a little more negative ease! I've made a bunch of musselburgh's and my favorite is one of the smaller ones
You both are so fun and inspiring. Jackie's Nutiden Seaton pullover has me drooling. I want to make a similar one (thanks for adding the color ways in your notes). So I had to splurge on the shipping to order Aran from the UK. Ordering direct from MW, the digital charts are emailed (they say). Carmen's Aika has me rethinking how to use my suri silk stash... so many decisions! Didn't even dawn on me go with suri silk when looking at Laine #22, Carmen's version is so pretty. I want to rework the gauge to use Nutiden for the "Stripes Not Stripes" pullover in Laine #22. I fall asleep thinking of color combination possibilities. I also love Jackie's Book Club cardigan, yarn and fit are a win. Gotta chuckle over the "helmet" reference... CODA is one of my favorite movies. :) Julie
Such gorgeous knits as always! I discovered Boondoggle yarns at the Vermont sheep and wool fest this year and couldn’t resist. Bought the light grey Finn for a wide textured scarf. Love! Thanks for a thoughtful and inspiring podcast.
Oh Jackie, I love your Book Club cardigan. It makes me wanna knit it. What size did you make and what needle size did you use? Great video ladies, as always. I' m liying on the sofa with corona and you made my day. Greetings from Germany. Jenny
Jenny - thank you so much for your kind words. I’ve updated the show notes with the info you asked about (size 3 on US5 needles as I’m a loose knitter). Please tag us if you do make it and I hope you are feeling well again soon!!!
Hi Back, Beautiful Girls!!! Missing you both but I'm looking forward to making more knitting mischief together. G.
I’m sure any of the missions or shelters would take winter clothing donations. Winnipeg is particularly cold (Main Street project, Siloam mission). Koats for kids also takes winter clothing donations for children in Winnipeg.
