If you are given a chance to perform one Philippine Folk Dance, what would you choose and why? -It would be the "Banga Dance" of the cordillera because this shows the beautiful culture of the Cordilleran people and this also gives a lesson to the costume that it doesnt matter what you wear (bahag) because your body is great. So overall we danced this during grade 7 and its fun wearing a bahag actua5

The Santacruzan (from the Spanish santa cruz, "holy cross") is the ritual pageant held on the last day of the Flores de Mayo. The Santacruzan is intended to be the culmination of a month-long religious celebration known as the “Flores de Mayo,” Spanish for “Flowers of May.” Read and research is the key.

    1. The malong is usually made of cotton with simple plaids and stripes as the preferred patterns. The more elaborate malong made of silk, in colors of red, purple, and yellow, is worn for ceremonial occasions. 2.Inaul means "woven" in Maguindanaoan known for its geometric designs. This has been considered a status symbol and is referred as an object of "Barabangsa" (dignity). It takes about 2-3 weeks to make one of these beauties. These malongs were woven with either tanor (cottony thread), silky rayon or katiyado (super shiny thread). Sometimes a combination of the three. These pieces were handwoven by Babu Normina of Sultan Kudarat. 3. Tanyak-tanyak is a facial painting that is used for wedding ceremonies in Yakan Tribe culture. Shape - Tanyak-tankyak uses shapes that are circular or spots arranged in a diamond or a square pattern. Line - Tanyak-tanyak uses implied lines in a diagonal, vertical, horizontal, or curved direction. Color - Tanyak-tanyak uses only white because the pigment is made of rice starch or flour and water. 4. T'nalak is a weaving tradition of the T'boli people of South Cotabato, Philippines. T'nalak has a distinctive tri-colour scheme: White for the pattern, red for relief elements and black (or deep brown) for the background. Fibres used in weaving are harvested from the abaca tree and prepared in a process known as kedungon. 5. Tepo mat is a colourful hand-woven mat made from the Dwarf Pandan leaves which grow abundantly on the coasts of Tawi-Tawi. -Traditionally an exclusively female activity amongst the Sama-Bajau, the mat-weaving is an important facet of their cultural identity. -The women will harvest, colour, design and weave the stunning and complex geometric patterns.

💖Answers 💌 1. Malong is converted from Batik Fabric, the traditional tubular skirt that is staple in the attire of many Mindanao indigenous groups. 2. Inaul is a type of fabric that is made by skilled weavers. It has beautiful colors that represent the values of the Maguindanao people. Each color stands for one of the Maguindanao virtues, such as; red for bravery, Orange and Yellow for royalty, green for peace, black for dignity, and white for purity and mourning. 3. Tanyak-Tanyak - It is the most distinct tradition of the Yakan tribe, it is the facial Decoration. There are circles spots, diamond patterns painted on the skin using bamboo tools and a thick mixture of white flour and water. This practice is done only for wedding rituals or ceremonies where the bride and groom are the ones who wear this cosmetic decoration. 4. T'Nalak is a traditional fabric made by women in the T'boli tribe. Thousands of unique patterns are known to them by memory, all of which reference folklore and stories. The designs are done in a distinctive tri-coloured scheme, with white for the pattern, red for relief, and black or deep brown for the background. T'Nalak is also used for ritual purposes, as an offering to the spirits, and during festival celebrations. It is also exchanged between families for food and supplies, and the T'bolis have a barter economy that continues to this day. 5. The Sama people are known for their colorful mat called tepo. These mats are made from the pandan leaves, which are plentiful in their area.
