Yet Another Wooden American Flag Video
Nothing original here, but still a fun project. Used the same technique that everyone seems to use on TH-cam.
Only variables were:
-Used 1x6 lumber ripped down to 13 - 1.5”x37” strips
-Stained with General Finishes Red and Blue Dye Stains and a tintable white water-based stain from Varathane (with no tint.) 2 coats each
-Used pocket holes instead of glue and brad nails
-Finished with 4 coats of Minwax spray Polycrylic (Satin) with sanding in between each coat.
-Burned the wood both before and a little bit after. Probably wouldn’t do the after burning if I did it again. Might burn the before a little more aggressively.

Stumbled on the Inspire Woodcraft series on Shou Sugi Ban inspired finishing. Thought it looked awesome and wanted to give it a try. Saw a google image of a project I wanted to try and recreate for my office. Seems like that was made by an Italian furniture maker called La Capanna Della Sam. So here is my attempt. I put a few of my own twists on it. Here is a link to the Inspire Woodcraft page....

I only have about 80 square feet in my shed for my gym, so I have made everything to fold up, roll, and be put away. This cable system is built into joist and recessed into the floor. It is a - Tricep Press down - Lat pull down (with leg holddown) - Low Row (with foot pad) - Belt Squat (Loaded from standing)
