I think one of my favorite details in this is as the Onceler walked up the steps you saw people holding out their hands, donning the same green gloves he has. It helps to emphasize that the blame doesn't rest squarely on him. Oh yeah, hes having the factories built, hes devastating the environment, but they are also contributing by buying thneeds and showing no concern to the damage hes causing. Its easy to blame the Onceler, but lets be real, what could the onceler do if no one bought his thneeds or let him get to the point he did? It shows, as was the point with how people were shown in the story and cartoon, a cautionary warning that anyone can be a Onceler.

From Min 1:22 the chorus in the back begins to repeat the same thing as Lorax, like the message that Once-Ler is receiving in his ears in a faint and low way, but when he starts to hit just the point, at min 1:59 to tell him just what they both know, "the more you try to find him, the more he likes to hide" The Voices of the choir stops repeating the same thing as Lorax and now he just starts chanting louder or make a lot of noise attenuating Lorax's voice, there Once-Ler stopped listening to it, the chorus only makes noise non-stop until Lorax mentions "Biggering" again, the chorus paraphrases again but only the word "Biggering", the chorus only makes him hear "Biggering" and at the end the only thing the chorus repeats and can be heard is "that Biggering's just triggering more biggering!" leaving aside any other message he wanted to convey I can definitely interpret it as the background chorus being Once-Ler's own pride growing within him, as it grew throughout the song until the end and the Lorax was his conscience struggling to be heard

Instead of this absolute masterpiece, we got... A mediocre song

I really wish a proper animation team just made an all out animated music video for this song. It's genuinely better than the entire movie, and it's a perfect representation of the original story. Seriously, this is the only good thing to come out of the movie, and if this was actually in the movie, I'd even consider the movie as a good movie. This entire movie literally would've been good if this was actually in it, and if they cut down on some crap and made it 70 minutes instead, I'd even consider it a great kids movie.

I find it funny how many people think this song was cut because the studio was stupid or didn't see how good it is. No. It was cut precisely because of how good it is. It's too real, and the message is too accurate and too radical. There's no way a major studio would release this. They wanted a story that portrays corporations as relatable and misguided, not a story that accurately portrays what's really going on.

The song really emphasises capitalism as a pride based system. Really, all the Once-ler wants is "just enough". Its literally in his name; "Once-ler" is the name of a man who promises to do it "just one more time". At some point, when money becomes his real goal, halting progress will absolutely demolish the economy that he has been "biggering" for however long he has been building his Thneed empire. It would hurt his public image if he stopped producing anything. Ironically, that is what happens after the last tree falls. He shelters his pride with his organisation, his Thneeds and his money, only to lose it all in the end. Too bad "How Ba-a-a-ad Can I Be" was apparently more marketable than "Biggering". How bad can I be is just about a dude trying to lie to himself that what he's doing isn't wrong because he "can stop anytime". Its, once again, about pride. But it doesn't really show it well. Just listening to it just makes you think of a billionaire denying literally everything. He doesn't even look at the empty fields when its LITERALLY OUTSIDE HIS GODDAMN WINDOW. Still, good work wth the animatic. Hope you're doing fine in school.
