How to wind bobbins for industrial sewing machines.
what is the thinnest the leather can be skived down to?
Hello, is this machine capable of tapering the edge of 3 to 6 oz chrome leather? I only get a flat skive. I tried everything I could think of with no success. Thanks!
@@robertpac4114 did you try pitching the foot forward a bit? I’d use the larger, 50mm foot.
I did try pitching the foot but I did not try the 50 mm yet. Will give that a shot! Thank you!
@@MythLeatherCo Thank you ! I tried the 50mm foot and was able get a nice tapered skive . Thanks for the great advice!
@ Glad it worked out for you! 🙌
Thank you dear!
I’ve been looking for a how to video for setting up all the fine adjustments and finally came across your channel. Great in depth explanation of everything on these machines, thank you! I don’t know if you’re still making new content but I’ll subscribe anyway cause the rest of your channel looks like it has some good projects.
Thanks for watching! Be sure to check out the ‘Live’ tab. There’s hours of videos there. Be back soon! 👍
Your inner lining fits perfectly. For me it is always too big and wrinkles. How do you measure it? I would be pleased to hear your answer.
❤
Hi, Thank you very much. It's very informative. I just started to use Bell Skyver and realized the foot roller (football shape stone feed) runs towards the left side. Naturally it's not skyving at all. Any idea how to make it runs to the right side?
Sounds like your servo motor is running backwards. There should be a switch on it to reverse the direction.
That liner is gorgeous what material is that its like thicker than regular fabric
You have been the best demonstration I have watched thanks
@@mikearchie3178 thank you! 🙌
Thank you I really learned a lot greatly appreciated
@@marchie886 You’re ver welcome. Thank you for watching!
I clicked on your website link but sadly I received a message saying your site isn't secure.
@@kboleather Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll reply again once the DNS is repaired. 👍

The info here is awesome, Thank you. I have a question. At about 21:20 min in the video, you mention begin to talk about you sharpening stone "skipping", but then an edit jumps to the pully system and I did not understand what you mod was to fix the "skipping" other than a brief mention of machining a small aluminum piece. Can you help me understand your mod or fix for the sharpening stone skip?
There’s a bushing that holds the stone on a shaft that needs to run true. The factory bushing was making the stone run eccentric. Took me awhile to figure out what was happening, but as soon as I made that new bushing, the quality of my sharpening was 100% better!
I just bought one and really appreciate the time you put in making this. Thank you.
the fortune excelent machine thank fot video
I've got a Seiko lsw-8bl I'm working on trying to change the belt how did you get the bushing out I'm trying a automotive puller with no luck? TIA
I used a brass drift and pounded it out from the inside. There’s a set screw you need to loosen.
@MythLeatherCo Thanks I loosened the 2 set screws on the shaft is there a 3rd I may be missing
Ok I see I missed the bushing set screw thank you for the video and getting back to me!!
Thank you for this video it is the only video I’ve found that show’s a person how to skive different ounces of leathers and dial the machine in to do what you need it to do. I do have a question, I have the Cobra NP4 and the person that helped me had me put a double bevel on the blade which I had a single bevel to start with from the factory I think. When I sharpen my blade in between jobs or when it gets dull can I sharpen it like you are showing here, this seems a lot easier than going through the long process to sharpen the blade. The help I’ve received the person had me put a double bevel on the blade and it just confused me if I needed to do this step every time to keep my blade sharpened or could I use the steps you’ve shown here to keep my blade sharp? I’m still learning my machine and it gets very frustrating when you have a bag to finish and you can’t get the bell skiver to work properly. After watching your video I feel like I understand a lot more about this machine than I did before. Any advice on the double bevel issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much Garth
@@tammyaltic2254 you’re very welcome! I’m glad it helped you! There’s hours of gems on this channel. Check out the live tab for most of the content! 👍
@@tammyaltic2254 they must have backed off the blade to achieve the double bevel. Not quite sure why that was done. As long as you have the blade positioned horizontally close to the back side of the presser foot, you’ll be good. Sometimes you need to sharpen the blade several times during a large project. You’ll know when it gets dull by sound and the way the leather drags that you need to sharpen. If the machine starts to act funny, sharpen the blade and that normally fixes most of your issues. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the double bevel (I’d like to see a picture somehow)
quick question for the consew 230 do you think it would sew thru multi layers of 1000d cordura ?
@@caligrindin9492 I’m not sure. It’ll do 4-5 layers of denim with no issues. I haven’t tried to go much thicker than that, due to the thread size I use in that machine (TEX 46)
Good evening, tell me, I may have a problem, the sharpening stone always spins, no matter what position the lever is in (top or bottom), what could be the problem?) If you know)
Really love watching your videos.
Thanks for watching! There’s HOURS of live videos over on the LIVE tab as well.
Nice job, 🍯!
Those of us that don't have a cylinder or post bed are resigned to turning bags most if the time.
.. and that’s perfectly fine. 😎👍
The first part of this bag was recorded ‘LIVE’ you can check those out on the LIVE tab. 👍
I like your videos but I don’t understand why it tool you over 20 min. to glue a round pre cut piece of leather to a round precut piece of bond Tec? I understand that you make money by the amount of time viewere watch but this is kinda ridiculous brother. Just my little opinion.
Thanks for the feedback. ✌🏼

This is a re-posted ‘Live’ video. Are you guys getting notified when I actually go ‘live’?
Questionable
No I don’t get notified..I just see the post after the fact
But that might be my fault

Hey
YAY! I've missed seeing you online
Hey hi. Really like zip around wallets.
Where can I source those weights?
You’d have to get a machine shop to make them for you. 👍
Love this video!! I’m still having trouble with the skiver eating my leather. Even after sharpening it pulls inward/back, not just across. I’ll keep twisting knobs. This only happens with thinner softer leathers but I can’t totally solve the problem. I’ll keep trying.
Make sure the gap between the bell-knife and the drive stone is minimal. Like you can only slide a piece of paper in between them minimal. Also, the knife needs to be razor sharp! 9 times out of 10, problems are due to a dull knife.
Me puede asesorar para comprar una Rebajadora Cmo esa!?
