How long ago was this released btw? I'm hoping it's a new release as I haven't seen it on the market before.
This is awesome! My wife is doing Christmas decorations planning while I am planning the pergola project! This short “nailed it”
Looks good. What material is bottom plate made of? I do prefer bolts & nuts to secure post to bracket. Could you have an optional slide down timber cover, to hide bolt heads?
This concealed post base has a 25mm cap covering the bolts, it can be ZMAX® Galvanised or 316SS. Check out our product page for more details: strongtie.com.au/cpt
So you’re saying the four screws can support the same weight as a 4x4?
These are our SDWS structural fasteners. Please visit our web page and see the technical data - strongtie.com.au/products/outdoor-accents-avant-collection
What a shit video
Great video and great product
Location to biy
Please check your local hardware store. strongtie.com.au/where-buy
Thanks for the video. Was just wondering are we supposed to pour concrete in the small hole ?
Adding concrete around the base of the post will help reinforce the post. This is recommended but not compulsory. It depends on the condition of the post.
Looks too good to be true. Awaiting other comments. As I understand, the hole must be drilled to the correct dimension & dust will cause a problem. So without experience I can't comment further. Personally, the clarification of the use of Tapcons, without experience, is an interesting comparison.
Hey there, thanks for reaching out! This video is more of an overview, not a step-by-step guide. To learn more about the TNT Titen Turbo screw, check out our website: strongtie.com.au/products/tnt-titen-turbo-concrete-and-masonry-screw. You can also find other videos on our TH-cam channel!
Thanks I was wondering if they were required on both sides and the concrete idea is really nice
If the post is badly damaged, it could fall over on either side of the fence, we recommend using pairs on both sides - outside and inside of the fence.
I used 3 on 3 different posts on only my side of the fence Is was instantly strong enough to jump over the fence with my 200 pound weight and not rip the fence down 👍
@@gp8383 We're happy to hear that it worked out for you
Thanks for the video. I bought the product but it looks like my post is 4.25 inches vs the 4 inches this product comes in. Any suggestions?
E-Z Mender comes in two sizes in Australia to suit a 90mm or 75mm post. Please contact our Engineering department for further recommendations and options.
Is this cheaper than a new post?
The E-Z Mender reinforces weakened posts without having to replace the post or concrete, especially when replacing the post becomes a difficult task. The E-Z Mender makes it easier and cheaper from this perspective.
Cheaper - no, but stop the fence from falling - yes. Is this the right fix - depends on what you think is right. Is it as strong as the original post - definitely no (it's still wobbly even in the video) That bracket is 65 dollars, plus tax and shipping and few screws you are looking at 75-80 dollars for each post. one 8ft 4x4 pressure treated post at home depot is 10 bucks, 2 bags of cement mix another 10 bucks, Call the boys for the weekend, ask them to bring a digger and the temper tool. Throw some chicken on the bbq and break some sweat. For 80 bucks you get both fun time and a fixed fence. Also, the same can be argued for this bracket, for 80 bucks you get a fixed post and time to spend for fun. There is no right or wrong, really. 😂😂
@@shkhamd You're right. Each fence's condition and jobsite circumstance are different. There's no right or wrong answer; the only thing that matters is whether this solution meets your expectations and makes you happy with your decision.
Great self-tapping screw.
These screws are garbage lol. Even made pilot holes with mason bits and they broke apart halfway down
Sorry to hear your bad experience. Make sure you use the correct size of percussion drill bits.
I don't know if that thing work good, ??? Can some body recommend me ?
Hi Reyes, try get a free demo from the Simpson Strong-Tie team in your area.
Yes it does
Why not make a bolt headed screw with the preferred slot this seems like your trying to reinvent the washer instead of just having the bolty looks
Can these be used with anchors for more support?
The kerf is not wide enough using that saw blade
Base is round from the press blanking lol
Is pre-drilling required? This looks like a screw that might prevent the need for a plug but I don’t see how it could drill itself. If it could you would show it driving into concrete on this video.
Hi @richarddebono7092, yes, you would need to drill a hole and clean the dust first before installing the Titen Turbo screw. Here is another TH-cam video providing more details.
Are these code for installation as a fastener for a hurricane tie?
Your video is flawed 😅
Better off cutting a stake from a 2x4 answer hammering that down a foot or 18 inches, then screwing to the post.
What about the concrete that in that post hole?
Normally, the timber post gets rotten or damaged at the bottom where it meets the concrete. Wedge the E-Z Mender into the gap and ensure that the plates are driven 280mm into the ground for full penetration. Leave the concrete in place, as it is still providing support to the bottom of the post. You can watch another installation here: www.tiktok.com/@strongtie.pacific_rim/video/7202759041678871810
Almost $20 bucks for a single post base at depot or Lowe’s Pretty gross honestly
Thanks for your feedback David, we hope that the value and quality of our products and the engineering behind them make your job easier and your structure stronger.

Really nice
When do I get my free nail bag!!
If you have registered the tool on our website, it will take a few days for the team to process and deliver to you. Hope you get it soon!
I hate to bother you, but I'm having a hard time finding the exact size of StrongDrive screws that will fit into the holes. I couldn't find ones small enough at the store. Thanks.
No worries, we are here to help. You can use either Strong-Drive SD Connector Screw (SD9112R100 - #9 x 38mm), SCN Smooth Shank Connector Nail (N10DHDG-R - 38 x 3.75mm Nails) or other equivalent 9 gauge screws or 4mm nails. Hope that helps. Otherwise, feel free to reach out to our customer service team.
@@SimpsonStrongTieAustralia You rock. This will save me 8 thousand dollars!!!
Doesn’t work if a post is cemented in though.

I have an issue with this… treated lumber is not usually dry and is to be installed as thighs as possible to one another. Once dry you end up with a gap of about 1/4 inch… leaving 1/4 gaps at install like you seam to be doing for your product to perform, Will leave gaps of closer to 1/2 once dry…!!! 1/2 inch !!! Or even more if the treated lumber was fresh out the mill…!!! 1/2+Inch….! Am I missing something. Become I was looking forward to purchase one but …1/2+ Inch gaps… that’s too much…! I mean, it look Awesome for composite decking that cost a mortgage, a tank of gas and a few groceries…
Hi James, yes, we agree that unseasoned/wet lumber can shrink a lot. This video was taken in Australia where it’s common practise to use dry hardwood where typically a 3mm gap is recommended for 90mm boards.
My post snapped in the middle of the post by tree I had to remove the top fence how do I join it together
Sorry to hear the damage. We are afraid the E-Z Mender won’t be the solution to fix this.
I thought you are supposed to install the E-Z Mender on the sides of the fence posts (not the front in this video)?
As the post is badly damaged, and could fall over on either side of the fence, we recommend using pairs on both sides - outside and inside of the fence.
Hi do you sell firing pin for PT-22A? Thanks
Yeah I bought some from my local HD and I can tell you this is false advertisement. Trash
Thanks for your review. We are truly sorry to hear your bad experience on our Titen Turbo screw anchor. At Simpson Strong-Tie, we set a high standard for our products and services. Your satisfaction is our number one priority. Please get in touch with our local branch; we can take care of you from there.
you probably are one of those guys that always says “yes i know” even on things you never even had a experience at competition with real experienced experts . these screws are as simple and well made as they can get and they also get the job done , when of course you know what you are doing . ..
These need to be installed on the sides for maximum strength not the front
Yes, we would recommend using pairs (on both sides) for badly damaged timber posts.
When would you recommend using pairs?
Hi Derek, we’d recommend using pairs for badly damaged timber posts. For minor damaged posts, one is usually adequate.
Shake it like you did before haha
Definitely need a test after the finish. If other parts of the timber are broken, would need to replace them too.
Price please... From Nigeria ❤️
Please check price with your local dealers.
Is this available in the UK?
Not sure, please check with the Simpson Strong-Tie UK team.
It worth the money? Like you think it'd pay for itself long before it breaks?
100%, heaps of builders have been using the Quik Drive tool ready. Make sure talk to your local Simpson guy and try the tool before you buy it.
They’re kinda close to the edge of that board no? Or is that just me?
Yep, looks quite close to the edge from the video. But the decking clips are designed to install the screws in a safe edge distance.
do you need 1 or a pair to fix 1 post ?
Hi Tony, It can be installed individually or in pairs. Check your local Building Department for any applicable code requirements.
What’s the best wAy to install sds 3/8 head screws the gray ones I have a job that requires over 1,500 screws and haven’t found a good impact or drill to keep up thank you

I have viewed the Feed Pawl and it is in good shape. the auto feed is not working on my unit. The unit will work just fine but I have to push the screws through after each screw. What is this units issue?
Hi Brenda, it maybe a good idea to call one of our reps and they are happy to help you out.
On my Quik Drive the Guide Screw just spins and spins when unscrewing and it will not come out of the unit. I have tried using tweezers to remove and it seems like the guide screw is too big to take out of the slot where the guide screw is located. Any suggestions
Damn
Lame and stupid no detail about caliber nails force loads available, it costs more than any other gun why bother with thos upload
What kind of hammer do I need to install this?
Depends on the soil and concrete but usually a heavy hammer like a sledge hammer is needed. Check out this video www.tiktok.com/@strongtie.pacific_rim/video/7202759041678871810?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7186433329490429441
