REVIEW - Bearpaw Products DURA backstop kit
มุมมอง 45610 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey there, thanks for tuning in. This is my review of the @bearpawproducts DURA Backstop kit. The kit comes in a nifty back for storage and transport. It comes pretty much ready for use, with minimal assembly needed (the video is in real time). Included in the kit are the following items. - Backstop 2*2 meters - Carry bag - pegs - assembly instructions As you can see in the video, the backstop ...
UNBOXING BEARPAW PACKAGE (and frist shot with Omaha longbow)
มุมมอง 2.6Kปีที่แล้ว
Yesterday a couple of packages arrived from @bearpawproducts . They contained a small 3D course, a new bow and new arrows. The main reason for the unboxing part, is that I am really impressed by their efforts to use sustainable materials as much as possible. And very little plastik i used. This is just up my alley... Anyways... The 3D animals are the great hare, and a rat. They have a LOT of hi...
The Peter Crockett hunters cold shot challenge
มุมมอง 245ปีที่แล้ว
Up for a challenge? Great! 💪🏹 Because I have teamed up with hunter Peter Crockett 👉 youtube.com/@bluegretchen To create a hunters experience, for all those of you who aren't necessarily hunters, but enjoy archery like I do. Peter came up with the parameters for the challenge, as they represent most of his shots and a good general challenge to be prepared for in a hunting situation. The challeng...

Draw weight ❓
@@BhewaMd484 this one is 45 pounds.
I believe the Hankyu bow is meant for war so will using arrows heavy enough to peirce protective clothing. I would try again using 54 gram arrows at 36" which I believe was the Manchu war arrow. The heavier limbs will certainly come into effect then.
@@rex-y7v I believe so too. Makes for a nice "horsebow". Although I think the bows would have had a heavier draw weight than mine
again a very good description, thanx :-)
@@Hans-JörgStrauß thank you.
This is one of the best introductions I ever saw, thanx for this :-)
@@Hans-JörgStrauß Thanks a lot ✌️
My favourite type of bow
Why did you say there isn't a lot of room to shoot Mediterranean? Could you exolain further thats mostly how i shoot
@@Saint300Sparta the bow is very short at 48 inches nock to nock. This means you get a very steep angle on the string when you pull it, resulting in an unpleasant pinch on the fingers. It's gets worse with higher poundage, like with this 45 pound bow.
:). Thank You. Thank You for all. the good information. Thank You So Much :)))
I'm not sure what to conclude. Shorter drawn med draw shots will be slower than longer drawn shots thumb drawn but how much is down to the bow being used more efficiently on longer drawn shots as more poundage being is being effectively reducing the arrow GPP figure, and how much is down to the draw style is impossible to determine. None of the bows are particularly fast at 10gpp+ The Hankyu is even slower than the other two. That's about it.
@@stevedjurovich194 what to conclude is what design is more effektivte. Historically the designs were based on usage and what materials was accessible. Looking at it from a physical perspective, the shorter limbs of the horsebow have less mass to move, less dead areas along the limb, and less surface areas that need to cut through the air. So for lighter drawweigts the shorter bow is more effektive. Also the material are better. Laminated with a bamboo core, vs leather covered fiberglass on the manchu and a bamboo/ash lamination on the Hankyu. When you higher in draw weight (70 pounds+) the Hankyu (yumi design) and the manchu trancend into a more effektive forcedraw ratio, becoming more effektive than they are in lighter draw weights. The high GPP og the arrows used, help reduce handshock and deliver a smoother shooting experience.
Weight of the arrow is the most important thing when it comes to speed. Also a longbow can handle a heavier arrow and is basically silent with the right set up. Longbow is peak hunting, recurve is peak target. But as always there is never an always in archery
Incredible consistency there, that proves an excellent technique & loose. 👌
@@stevenlord782 thanks 👍😊
Great test, very interesting, exacting results collected! Fine job, thank you sir!🏹
@@johnrichard6639 your welcome 👍
Very good test!
SHite, just ordered a 55lb bow😆😆🥲 I've watched 5 or 6 videos about the basics, it is by far the most practical and beginners friendly.
Are these Aluminum/Carbon like the Easton ACC?
Correct.
Okay… don’t know who Peter is and am late to the party… but I’ll participate… I like challenges!
Some informations on bowstring material manufacturer etc. Would be nice cause the blackfood has a dacron stock string on it and the other ones some higer quality strings i guess for the price difference. This alone can make a difference from 5 to 10fps! Nice informative test btw:)
What’s that recurve in the background
That is the Bodnik/Bearpaw Mohawk Shadow ILF. Bodnik Mohawk riser, Bearpaw Shadow limbs.
Inside diameter? Barrel or parallel design?

Draw it to your chin, not your eyes
Very interesting! Maybe next time try a 430-450gr arrow. I have 2 Bear Super Grizzly recurve bows in 40lb ( pulling 42lb) and my light hunting arrow is 500.4gr while my 2 heavy arrows go 603.5 and 620grs. I don't know how fast they go but out to 18 maybe 20 yards they look pretty fast.
Do you deer hunt with your 40# Bear grizzly? How does the lower draw weight perform on deer?
@@greeneyesfromohio4103 As yet I have not used my 40's on deer, I just switched over in April. At my draw both pull 42lbs. A show called Traditional Shots sees the girl using 42lb bows taking deer out to 23-25 yards, I hope that helps answer your question. Another show suggests limiting shots to 18 yds!
The sound is very low .
Hello looks like a nice bow did you put fiberglass on the back and belly of the bamboo
Thanks. It's kevlar on the back.
I have just obtained one! Can you recommend an arrow to use with it? Spine/length/tip weight/fletch type(plastic vs feather) etc??? I'm new to archery with no local resources available to me...
Depends on the bows draw weight, and your drawlength.
@@scandinavianarcher7015 exactly the same as the one you used in this video (35# @ 28")
thank you for showing this bow, mate. Thinking about to purchase one of these, but man I aint so sure about that cause I am mostly a horsbow shooter LOL
Then I would suggest a Bearpaw slickstick instead. Lighter and more nimble.
Thanks for the information. Very interesting results.
I would definitely have to agree with you on the bottom, it is definitely up to high But thank you for sharing appreciate ya. God bless.
Thanks for this vid.
Your welcome
@@scandinavianarcher7015Hi, if you don't mind answering, what is you current favourite hybrid bow? I'm looking to get a reflex-deflex longbow down the line and saw you done a vid on the ragim cobra, but you're using something else now. I was looking at the ragim red hawk but its similar to the cobra.
@@Sachin1671 firstly ☝️ a hybrid bow is a reflex/deflex bow shorter than 64 inches. From 64 inches and up, it's a longbow (as per international competition rules). My favourite hybrid bow is my Bodnik Slick Stick. It's so comfortable and nice to shoot. I still have the Ragim Cobra, and the Ragim Wolf. But my favourite longbow is the my Bearpaw blackfoot (the old version) very narrow and and nimble.
@@scandinavianarcher7015 Thank you for correcting me, I was honestly under the impression that a hybrid is just a mid point between a longbow and recurve which was just a longbow with more of a deflex. But now I know. This would be my first bow so I didn't want to go too expensive but both the cobra and wolf seems like a good option right now. The slick stick looks great but is quite high and the blackfoot looks to be a decent step up. I still have a long time becofre I decide but I'll defenitely keep my eye out for these.
How many inches is your bow? 😊
This one is 48 inches.
The Hankyu bamboo Bow is meant to be drawn back further to get more power and speed. The Japanese usually don't anker there hands by the mouth when they draw back. They draw back further. Until passed the head. Almost until the shoulder of the draw hand.
I draw these bows to between 31 and 34 inches. The hankyu has a max draw of 32 inches. No matter these bows are compared the Hankyu is slower than the Sada horsebow. It's not really a big mistery though. The limbs are heavier and longer. Also keep in mind, that this is not a yumi bow. Much shorter and can't be drawn to shoulder, unless you have short arms. My drawlength with anchor at the cheek is 28 inches. Drawing it to the shoulder would likely brake it.
@@scandinavianarcher7015 Hi thanks for your response. You are 100% correct. Sorry I was thinking about the yumi bow😅 I don't know why I thought about the yumi bow when I made that comment. The yumi bow looks different.
Bro there must be a better technique than this.
There are several techniques. You can also use the step through method, or use a stringer.
thanks sir for the knowledge
Im transitioning to a longbow for quietness. Yours was very quiet
They usually are, unless you go for very light Arrows. 12 gpp is preferable for noise, and sent slow down the bow very much.
Спасибо ! Очень наглядно ! Разница примерно 5%, 7% процентов между классическим лонгбоу и рекурсивным луком. 3м/с - это не о чём !
Im sorry. I can't copy to translate
Very cool! I love those bows and have made about a dozen of them. I usually make them only 62" n to n with a non bending handle with a shelf cut a touch past center. But that's nice! God bless ya!
Very nice work. The tiller looks good as well. ScottinUSA
what wood did you use? scottinUSA
Ipe for the belly. A thin strip of ash underneath the birdseye maple venner, under clear glass
Good video. Should be helpful to a beginner.
Good looking bow. Looking forward to reviews on your equipment. ScottinUSA
yeah-well done. godspeed, 🤝
Very interesting test. Thank you for sharing. Can you do the same kind of test with one bow and different arows weight ?
Thanks. Yes I can 👍
What bow are you shooting? Looks very nice

Great form bro!!
Thanks 😁👍
@scandinavianarcher7015 is elm abundant? Could you make 80 inch elm bow. 100lb?
Also, recurve bows tend to be more tolerant of spine because the arrow shelf is cut deeper to the centerline of the bow. Most longbows are not cut as deep, exception hybrids.
good form and release follow through. practice does make perfect.
Thanks Scott
Good craftsmanship! Tiller looks good, also. Surprised how quiet it is on the shot. ScottinUSA

Or do what I did and break both your elbow and shoulder bad 50 years ago so that its impossible to hold your arm extended in line with your chest. The down side is a 26 inch draw
Seems a bit elaborate 😅
No surprises there in terms of speed. You also need to work on your videos sound levels. Terrible.
