    If there operators are anything like them knuckle head operators of mine they will see how far they can push something before it breaks. My suggestion is sandwich 1” plate in between the tubes and one on top and bottom. Leave 4 to 6 inches hanging out both sides. Add triangle bracing to each end of each plate (1”) and vertical stiff backs up the back side 1” as well. This kinda resembles what we had to do to a railroad bridge that was collapsing. It worked long enough for a new bridge to be built. This is all just my opinion but I hope you can use some of this if it helps. Love your videos 👍

    I think that it was necessary to first heat the metal and then fill the seam in at least two passes, a wide root and a closing facing one. The metal is very thick. You can't fill such a thickness in one pass.

    Bro the welds are garbage. If you would have weld it correctly it would’ve have held looks as your polarity is wrong the welds look as they have no penetration and it should been welded all around the square tubes I saw last video where you stack plates over tube with out welding them first all that allowed for movement and therefore here is the end result. From the video the welds are terrible. I mean 😢

    • @waggonerwelding
      @waggonerwelding 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @METALMUNCHERS77 i agree the welds could have been better on this one. We were borrowing a suitcase welder from a friend for this job and it was not working out very well. Switched back to stick welding since for this stuff. We did that same repair with both processes and it got tore out the same way both times. The welds aren't the problem. It's not being handled properly. Which should be obvious by how bent up the steel is. We have since redesigned it to use round tubing and go through the main arms instead of welding to the inside of them. So there isn't as much pressure on those welds now. That video will be up soon showing the proper repair.

      @acecoors i know. It's just the way they market it I guess. I didn't mean the front wheels always had power going to them like when the transfer case is locked in. Just that the front hubs and driveshaft always spin in this truck even in 2wd. So it's still spinning/wearing all of the 4wd parts all the time.

      @@waggonerwelding If I remember correctly its called a TIPM. Very common issue for these to have corrosion and cause many off the wall electrical issues. I have a 2016 with an amp draw somewhere and from what I found the TIPM was about 99% of the problem with others. Very common issue, you must remove the box and check the connectors from the back side. I got tired of looking and "resolved" my issue by putting a trickle charger in line with the block heater. So I at least top off the battery in cold weather and do not have starting issues.

    • @waggonerwelding

      @Jordan-ce7sf no I didn't. I rarely disconnect them and have never had a problem. Certain pieces of heavy equipment I will kill the power, but they have a switch so it's easy to be safe on the real expensive stuff. I always keep my ground right near where I'm welding so the current doesn't have far to travel. It won't travel through the whole frame. Just from ground to stinger. So just make sure no computers or anything that can get fried are between your ground connection and where you're welding. Thanks for watching! 👍
