Dass seinerzeit die neueste Afrika-Landkarte in München eine solche von 1910 gewesen sein soll, ist nicht glaubhaft. Es gab zu J.E. Mabes Zeit in München ja z.B. die Spezialbuchhandlung Lama für aktuelle Landkarten. Es gibt dort auch große wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken mit Kartensammlungen! Ich fasse nicht, dass niemand von J.E. Mabes Mit-Diskutanten protestierte. Würde ein Weißer einen vergleichbaren Unsinn z.B. über Jaunde erzählen, würde man ihm Rassismus unterstellen. Was J.E. Mabe stellenweise über Amo berichtet, ist ebenfalls haarsträubend.

I would love to wittness a stand debate on the origin of Swahili culture.cause a lot of students are confused,the scholars in east africa believe that Swahili it's a typical bantu language with mix culture,while those in Arabia believe that Swahili it's not a typical African language..on the coast of kenya there are a lot of historical sites that no one can tell about their origin...why in every old poems 98% of the words are Arabic...

This was really cool to read. As a born-Muslim, living in Canada, who does have same-sex inclinations, I have always felt awkward within the context of my society. Especially in this age where my generation are so focused in creating categories of identities, safe spaces, and what have you. I could easily adopt the different factions that make myself into a kind of personal brand online, but it'll never feel genuine. Anyways, it was cool to read about Marcus' story. I found myself in a lot of what he had to say, and though I thankfully don't live in a terrible political situation as he found himself in, I also found kinship too in him having also to deal with persecution seemingly from nearly all sides. Anyways, thanks to Marc for making the book, it's greatly appreciated. Incredible insights not just on this man's life, but Jewish-Muslim relations, and cosmopolitan Berlin pre-Nazi Germany.
