    The world needs more videos like this. Quick ways to fix things if you don't care about it not being perfect when it's done. I am hoping this will work on my 2005 Liberty. It's supposed to be a 9 to 12 hour job. I have watched other people replacing them & it looks like a good 6 hour job even if you do cheat a little bit. I will try to do my own video if it does work.

    Although you cut yours back I think it could also be cut and bent back out of the way then reattached with metal screws? Was you core bad or just the o rings? Wouk’s it not be cheaper to just get o rings?. Good job man!:)

      My heater core was actually bad and needed replaced, but yes, many times it is just the o-rings. Although, considering how cheap the entire core is, I'm not sure why you wouldn't change it out while you're there

    Wondering if this would work for a 2010 Jeep liberty?

    • @sparky4357
      @sparky4357 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe the 2010 jeep liberty is different. Take out the glove department and see if you can access the side panel of the console and get it pulled away far enough to see if the heater core is behind it. I believe it's in the same location, but takes a very different heater core with inlet and outlets that push through the firewall making it very difficult to replace

    Great tip! Can you just drill the spot weld anc pull the brace back instead of cutting it off? Then push it back and put a bolt on it? While kerping everything else you showed the same?

    • @sparky4357
      @sparky4357 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. I thought about doing that myself, but just to save time and because I didn't really care about the glove box, I opted to just cut the braces

    Worked like a charm, had this job done in 30 mins after a couple years of "mysterious" on and off overheating issues from pulling air into the system. Used an oscillating multi-tool with a wood blade to cut the plastic veneer...cut like butter and was able to salvage the bracket for glove box mount

    For some reason, I personally don’t like the idea of butchering the bottom of your dashboard. No one can ever find enough time to do things right the first time, but always have enough time to do it right the 2nd time.

      The hacks could save more time by opening the rear hatch, folding the rear seat down, attaching a chain to the dash and a tree then driving away quickly, in the end it will look about the same.
