Silverado 5.3 full exhaust
First time shooting and editing with the GoPro Hero 6, video is in 1080p. The truck is a 5.3 with Texas Speed LT's, x pipe, and dual Carven R Series. Engine mods are simple for now, K&N CAI and custom tune.

Years ago, my IROC-Z with a 305 straight-piped itself on a back road. 😂 They do sound mean raw.

Sounds like the 350 has a mild street cam.
I hate Flowmeter. Everyone had one of those stupid muffers back the late 1990's early 2000's. Didn't matter what car it was. Anyways the 305CID 5.0L sounds better. But, my dad's 1979 F-100 351CID 5.8 Cleveland. Sounds better than most cars out there today.
305 sounds throatier
All small block Chevy engines sound the exact same when there stock. When you modify the internals the sound changes.

The 305 has a nice rich baritone, like Jim Morrison, Tom Waits, maybe a little Sinatra. And when this car speaks, it swears like a goddamned sailor. And over HERE we have Jimi Hendrix chopping down a mountain with the edge of his hand. When you are being pulled on a cart to the gallows and everybody in the basketball stadium is on their feet howling for your death- that sound. The 350 is a fucking Drama Queen. Is she high maintenance?

The reason 305 sounds better is because Flowmasters sound like a tin can. If it was an actual straight pipe 350 it would probably sound a whole lot better.
305 and 350 would sound identical with the same exhaust. Same stroke and same cam duration. It only sounds different because you got 2 totally different setups. Also, a straight pipe exhaust into mufflers doesn't exist. Its either straight pipe or it isnt.

@@mr.e1220 I do sometimes. Bought a 02 with 64k miles and been enjoying it since. No idea what u mean Calvinist 5 points. I had a 5.0 Mustang that started that. Then the 5.7 in the c10. Now the 5.3 in my 02.

305 Just sounds like it needs a muffler, but revs nice. I think the rumble is ok, but the idle on the 350 lobes better.
They both sound good I have a 350 in my 86 monte carlo ss an trying to make mine sound like this
Thank you. This truck ended up with hooker long tubes, no mid pipe, 10 series flowmasters. Sounded great

It wasn't like night and day difference but there was a little gain. Now it has a cam and stall so it feels a lot better
How do u do a 4bbl on a two bbl intake?
Old video, we were pretty young and still learning. It definitely wasn't set up like that.

These were great grits to work with. Spraying the clear on it filled in all the small scratches and made it look new
Recognized that Seether riff at 1:45 immediately. It's sped up a bit, but that's 100% the opening riff of Seether's Master of Disaster.
305 sounds better but 350 will smoke that 305 obviously so I’d take the 350

Just like to point out popping and crackling can be gotten rid of with proper like your suppose to do when you cut cats off, my Silverado has long tubes true duals no cats and black widows x pipe and there widow maker mufflers and never pops
The truck now has TSP long tubes, catless x pipe, dual Carven R's, TSP stage 3 cam and Dyno Tune. No popping. I have a newer video just doesn't have the cam video up yet. This video was just a quick fix to the stock exhaust
That dual plane intake swap helps greatly on high end. Quick, Fast.

Mr5point I see, yea it’s different than factory.., I’ve had my ‘86 for 22 years now and thinking of doing a small drop with maybe a set of 18’s, or 20’s in the back and 18’s up front.. Because it’s hard to find a descent lasting set of 15” tires anymore..

The problem with this video and similar videos is although the intention/purpose is good, this is an apples to oranges comparison. The exhaust setups have to be the same, the intake and carbs should both be 4 barrels as well. Otherwise, the comparison is not accurate by any means. Cheers
The only real difference between the two set ups besides the obvious 350 and 305. The 350 had a small cam upgrade and dual exhaust. The 305 was stock and had a y pipe. Both had same carb, both were 4 barrel (my buddy misspoke) we we alot younger and both were learning. We just wanted to show off what we had at a young age and we won't sponsored by our parents either.
