Making CHEAP Carolina Rigs with TEMU
#fishing #carolinarig #diy
In the winter months it's hard to get out there and fish, so why do somethings to set up your fishing game when the weather warms up. I like to pre-make some different rigs and get them ready to just pull out and tie on when it's time to use them, and TEMU is a good cheap way to pick up the terminal tackle you need to make these rigs at a reasonable price. This video is specifically about Carolina Rigs.

Kayaking and Fishing Davis Canal at Oak Island
มุมมอง 20114 วันที่ผ่านมา
#kayakfishing #kayaking #fishing Me and McGregor set out on the Davis Canal in Oak Island back in September to try our hand at catching some inshore fish. The conditions were great and the area is beautiful. This was our first adventure in the Davis Canal but I'm sure we'll be back and better armed to catch a haul of fish. Had some flounder and speckled trout action so we couldn't complain. Che...
WHY ARE MY DEER SO NOCTURNAL? HELP ME! (Trail Cam Video)
มุมมอง 506หลายเดือนก่อน
#deerhunting #whitetaildeer #whitetaildeerhunting I've been feeding and tracking the deer on my property since mid to late August and for some reason, this year the deer have been super nocturnal. I may get a rare photo or video in the daybreak or sunset timeframe and a really rare photo in actual daylight, but for the most part they are only out in the cover of darkness. Can anyone shed some i...
BIG RED DRUM up in the CREEK (NEW PB) | Catch & Cook (Kinda)
มุมมอง 169หลายเดือนก่อน
#kayakfishing #reddrum #creekfishing McGregor and I set off on a kayak adventure up a tidal creek in search of Red Drum or whatever bites....and we found them. Dodging gators and dealing with snags the whole time. Caught my new Personal Best Red Drum at 22.75 inches and then cooked him up. Oh, and you can watch me lose one of my favorite rods to the drink. Here's the gear I used: Gulp Peeler Cr...
Did The Homemade Deer Attractant Work?? (TRAIL CAM VIDEO)
มุมมอง 1.4K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
#deerhunting #whitetaildeer #whitetaildeerhunting This is a follow up to the CHEAP Homemade Deer Attractant video I did a couple of weeks ago. We are using trail cam footage and physical evidence to see if the cheap attractant actually worked....or was it a bust. It only cost about $10 to make, so it didn't break the bank to try it, and there's nothing wrong with experimenting to see what's goi...

CHEAP Homemade Deer Attractant: Get More Bucks for Your Buck
มุมมอง 9K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
#hunting #deerhunting #bucks I can't take credit for an original thought with this one, but I set out to create a deer attractant at a really cheap price with some basic ingredients. I'm trying to replicate what I've seen online and testing to see if it actually works. Hopefully we bring some nice bucks in for the season.

Catching a Chain Pickerel on a Rapala Floating Minnow...The Pike of the South
Is there anywhere to get out of the cannal going down stream instead of going back up the way you came im going down the 27 and wanting to test out my new kayak
If you go to what they call the West end of Oak Island, or what I call the South end there is supposedly another place to launch. We've also launched into the ICW from the public boat ramp. Check out Dutchman Creek to test out your kayak.
Justin, nice Video of the Canals on Oak Island, sorry you didn't catch many fish.
We'll get em next time.
Add some apple juice and corn make it into a liquid then pour it on stump! It will turn the corn red but that's fine and pu a camera on it
I'm going to try this next season and see what happens.
Let him walk.....too young
He walked. We'll see if he's back next year.
Sweet man nice job. You ever get down near the confluence with cape fear? Was wondering how far up the creek stripers run and if anyone finds them near the bridge
I'm not much of source of information for Stripers but I know people that catch them around the Holmes bridge and where the Brunswick and Cape Fear meet.
The same was happening to me in Upstate SC, but most of what I think was happening was Acorns were falling until recently and a few different crops on the farm next to us. We are back to seeing several bucks in the morning. I’ve always had good luck between the 10a-2p time slot when the high is 50’s, and not fullish Moon.
Thanks for the insight!
Might not be bedding near you/pile of corn they are moving somewhere in daylight
I have.the same problem. Put feeders and set forr day feeding since late october and only went in twice. Deer.still nocturnal. Not alot of hunting pressure around.
You can also raise your cameras. If they’re at high-level , Deer are going to see them. Pray about 8 to 9 feet. Basically, just below where you would hunt. If it’s high enough for a deer, not to look up and see you, it’s high enough for them to not look up and see a camera.
I'm thinking I might just take the cameras away all together, now that I know they are in the area consistently.
Get the corn off the ground…put the corn in feeders on timers for only day time feeding. Problem fixed.
Take the cameras away and the deer will start coming back around , deer are camera smart and know they are danger and associates them with hunters / predator ? I've had same problem and removed cameras and deer went back to behaving as normal !
I think I'm going to take your advice. Now that I know they are in the area consistently I don't really need the cameras.
Deer don't give a crap about your camera, what are you even talking about
Your pressuring the area and stinking it up,back off go somewhere else for a while .Or someone else hunting nearby is making mistakes.
Do folks not understand the concept of DIY?
congrats on the new pb!!! not much better than catching reds! sucks you lost a rod tho
Thanks Buffalo. I learned a valuable lesson that day. Hope you get back in action soon.
@ thanks man it’s a slow process and I’m hoping to be back on the water this spring
Nice catch!
Thanks Mike! I'm trying to catch up to you.
You can't bait deer in New York!
That's why I live in the great state of North Carolina.
You are gonna give those bucks diabetes with all that sugar. Does it work,?
Not really. The best attractant appears to be plain ole while kernel corn.
I've done many "attractants" with all the ingredients and secret ingredients etc. None have had any impact on the deer. They eat corn, never touch the attractants. I've had better results adding chestnuts or acorns.
put down some TROPHY ROCK FOUR65 MINERAL DEER SUPPLEMENT deer love it. it is what i use
Thank you. I'll give it a try.
I recommend trying deer co-cain for attracting deer. Be sure to follow the directions for best results. This product works well in Wisconsin. Good luck my friend.
Thanks. I'll give it a try. Willing to try anything at this point.
@j.varizzlethefisher BTW. Mineral needs to be put out months in advance and usually buried underground. Otherwise deer will never see it as natural. Good luck
Nice bowfin man!! Cool channel too I’ll subscribe
Thank you! I'll return the favor.
@ thanks man!! I appreciate it a ton
damn fine catch!!!
Thank you sir.
J varizzle
That's me!
why does it have to be Pink Himalayan salt? I know it has some trace minerals but for this purpose, so what?
Louisiana is ok with corn except WMA public land but what is extremely prohibited is SWEET POTATOES!! Something about a boweaval or something😂😂 let us know how it works
I've not had much luck with sweet potatoes over the years anyway. It seems like good ole corn is the way to go. The homemade attract hasn't gotten any interest in a week so far. Might just be my area though.
@@j.varizzlethefisher They mostly disappeared this last month. They are eating acorns in the thickest woods. In a few weeks they will return🙌🏻🥷🏼🦌
Fish
I wish. Unfortunately it was a snag
Interested in your results… I have competition food sources around my spot as well, so I’m looking to do what you did to make the deer favor my spot over the rest.
Well it looks like a bust. At least in my area. I'm not saying don't try it, but for me it looks like they haven't even touched it and I've got lots of videos of deer eating the corn but no videos of them showing any interest in the homemade attractant so far.
i guess laws must be different in your state cause in my state that's considered baiting , which is highly frowned upon with our game officials and subject to a big fat fine !! and it's called hunting for a reason !! not baiting season,
In North Carolina if it's private land you can bait all you want.
I've never understood why people who own land for years and years never plant apple trees, plum, pear, persimmon, peach, or mulberry, they all drop fruit when the season begins 4" black drain pipe around the trunk about 10ft. apart and let nature do its thing.
I don't own this land. I just have permission to hunt on it. The owner does have several grape vines not far from this spot though
You would have to "protect" the trees you're talking about or they will be (ate up) period.
Waiting.....
In a week's time, I've got lots of videos of deer eating the corn but they have not shown any interest in the homemade attractant so far.
Why post this?
Thanks for the video man. I just picked one of these up
It's a good stand. Has served me well.
W😊
Sad to say I’m a trout man. Don’t get to go bass fishing at all. I’ve caught 3 in my life. PB is a 7 though. 😂
I love trout fishing in a mountain stream with a fly rod. Just don't get to go very often.
@@j.varizzlethefisher I’m trying to learn fly rod. I have a brand new one that I just haven’t had the chance to practice with. I mostly do spinners in streams, worms in lakes, and drop a fly into a specific creek at like 10,500 feet.
Nothing beats a good red fish fight! Congrats on the new PB!!!
Thanks buddy. Love you videos. Keep em coming.
@@j.varizzlethefisher thanks man I really appreciate that!!! This spring we will have to get out together and do some crappie fishing and try to get a video done
What kind of ring guide is that...??? U get 2 ceramic...??? That's dope dude... What brand is that rod...???
Custom rod made by hand. All hand threaded. Local here to Wilmington NC. The guy does great work.
But braid especially thinner braid is a whole different level to untangle. And if youre like me almost 50 and forgot to bring my reading glasses, I swear I never use BC reel again lol.For me a spare spinning reel set is best.
Can't go wrong with a good ol spinning reel
22” flounder, why do they require letting them go ?
A rule by Moe Griswald and Horace Nimquist!!
@@davidcarothers3311 : obviously but why is my question. A fish that under a certain length is to be let go, but that’s a big fish, so I’m asking why do they require it to be let go? It’s as specific as I can get.
How to say your a child without saying your young. The reason you got too is because of the number of fish/how many can breed / how long it takes to get that big. If you just take every fish you catch then there will be no species left to catch. Over fishing is a problem in my area for muskie . The number to keep is higher than the average growth of the fish so therefore no matter how many you catch you'll never catch one to keep.
@@xeno6527or they simply didnt know 😂
@xeno6527 There's no reason to insult him for being a layperson.
21.5" is your biggest flounder!? 😂😂😂😂 lmfo!!!!!!!!! In that area that's pretty small. I wouldn't brag unless you break 30"!
Well let me know where you're fishing because in 25 years of fishing these waters, I've never seen anyone catch one over 28" and that was only one. I've never even heard of anyone around here breaking 30.
@j.varizzlethefisher How about you put in your own time and effort to find the big ones. I regularly catch flounder out there over 26" in that area. My pb being 32" in that general area. But you have to put in the time and work.
@@j.varizzlethefishernice fish man! 21.5 is a great flounder for NC. 30” would damn near be a state record, if not break it..
Where pond are you fishing at in here ?
The big one over by the Creamery, closer to the Yurts. Bounced to about 4 or 5 ponds.
You still up here? If so we’re at cab 2 we usually go to Cherokee one but this is at the most 45 minutes from the house. lol it’s 1:33 in the morning and I Randomly walked over behind the general store or the place that’s got the gem mining ? Yeah I walked over here and I’ve been on some FISH here I tell you what.
I love catching my own bait. I use an ultralight rod with 2 pound test and I use those micro hooks that people used to tie flies with to catch creek chubs😎
It's fun for sure.
lol @Joeypriest you’re wrong too, they’re not mud minnows.
Lol
I just discovered Rice creek. I got 3 bass off my kayak on paddle tails. Glad to see there are fish in there! Nice job.
It's a nice spot. Seasonally there are bass, crappie, bowfin, and shad.
I’ve caught them in South Carolina on beatle spins
Endangered by our crooked commercial fishing industry. Time to stop the commercial rapist.
😂
Them cool fish
They are cool, but they are a pain to deal with.
There are times for Civil Disobedience. Like when the Government imposes unjust laws! Just saying.
That doesn't look like a stingray . If it's the same as we get over here in NewZealand it's a skate . Completely edible and good to eat as well
It is in fact a stingray. In the full video you can see the barb and me loose control of the tail for a minute.
