A commercial project we undertook for a technology company before our trip to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, Spain. Our task was to produce photography and video content for their product. We began with pre-production and setting up lights in the early morning darkness, ensuring everything was in place before starting. Remote control for the lights proved invaluable, allowing us to adjust...

On my KX I have a lot of lag on the wifi when using the app as a monitor(even when the phone is right next to the KX) normally I use my small HD but when I do gimbal work I use my phone, Is there a way to use the phone connected via the USB-C connection and not the wifi?
I think you can, here is the link to the monitoring page on Red’s site, all the way at the bottom it says. With the use of an Ethernet to USB-C adapter, you can also connect Ethernet devices. Figure: USB-C connected to an Ethernet web browser You can add :9090 to the end of the URL in your browser to bring up an image-only feed for remote viewing. NOTE: You must enable live streaming under MENU > MONITORING > LIVE STREAM to enable the image feed. docs.red.com/955-0225/955-0225_V1.7%20Rev-B%20RED%20PS,%20V-RAPTOR%20%5BX%5D%208K%20VV%20Operation%20Guide%20HTML/Content/5_How_To/Monitor/Monitoring.htm

Muy buen trabajo!!

😡 Promo SM
I’d like to see you do it
What Pelican case that ? model number ?
This is the original case of the IRIX cine set, you can find it on their website. Unless you are looking to purchase the entire set I wouldn’t recommend buying it because it’s bulky and you can’t store longer lenses in it like a 70-200 or the 24-105 rf. Aside of that, it’s got a great quality and protects the lenses very well. I also use the front pocket to store my nd 4:5 filters.

Hello, thanks for the video, the AMIRIX15 code doesnt work
It was a one time code. Thank you for watching
Footage looks just meh.
You mean it’s not CINEMATIC. The point of the video was to explain why Komodo versatile enough for any kind of production. For footage test take a look at some of the other videos.
It’s not the Komodo it’s that kitchen lighting is jacked up. An Alexa would have looked the same. It’s a live kitchen not a staged production with controlled lighting
Exactly 👌
Sad to say the promo code no longer works
Looks like it was a one time code. I’m working on getting more promos for everyone in the near future.
Un profesional !

I'm considering o buy the KX but with the A9III being announced, I would like to know how it compares side by side, I know they are completely different cameras, made for completely different audience. But the work I do, I don't really need the Red, and don't even need the A9III but having a new toy to play with always keeps me motivated.
What’s wrong with the a74 / fx30
@@Ernesto_media Nothing tbh, just got bored and want to test out something new. If strictly saying tools I "need", S5II or S5IIX should more and suffice. But not everything is based on "need", sometimes it's for something more. Like do you really need a tourbillion watch? A $5 Casio should suffice, in fact it's better in telling the time. But it's for pleasure and it feels good.
@@Slipsch I completely understand, the excitement of opening a new toy will never go away. If it comes down to pleasure and you can afford it, why not. I would look into what drives you to create and try to find something more meaningful and timeless than the gear.
Great video! I also own the KX and on my main channel I shoot music videos, docs, and short films. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this style of shooting. Keep going!!
Thank you brother, it is an awesome camera.
I really like this camera from what I have seen so far. I have recently decided to step away from client based work and step into the world of narrative cinematography and I think this could be the camera for me.
Same here brother, if you are in a position where it makes sense to upgrade, it is a great camera. But it’s just a camera and there are more affordable/powerful tools out there. It won’t bring you more clients and it takes time to learn how to exploit its potential (going through that now). Remember there are many layers to narrative work that require mastering and are more important than the camera. Anyway, thank you for watching bro. PD: I don’t regret buying mine.
@@Ernesto_media appreciate this man. I think the biggest things I’ve learnt so far on my journey is 1. If you’re going to buy equipment lenses are just as if not more important than the body (in most cases) 2. Investing in good lighting equipment is just as if not more important. 3. Good composition is key.
Excelente trabajo muchas bendiciones ❤

Thanks for this video about an authentic Italian restaurant. Excellent video which I enjoyed a great deal😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing your passion and this video. I realize that run-and-gun is challenging. Realizing you didn't ask for feedback, I would like to suggest that you decide where and how white balance can help maintain continuity with your story and stick with it throughout to keep people focused on what you are trying to share. I've made that mistake a few times where thinking that being accurate meant more quality vs seeing what it did to my final edit.
Thank you for the feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I just subscribed to your channel, great content.
Wow that edit 😮!!
Glad you liked it bro

The R3D is a cool camera & footage is easier to work with but honestly, it just goes to show without good lighting and fundamentals, footage will look bad no matter what camera. I feel this footage would’ve looked the same or even better on a Sony a7siii or full frame camera that could let in more light and with a typical 24-70 lens at 2.8. Having someone around to hold a small light with a softbox would make the footage look 10x better too. Just my opinion based on experience
i am copletely with you about the lighting situation. Would've helped a lot to have a small soft source to get some background seperation. I skipped through the video and thought that we where still watching the BTS until i realised this was the Komodo footage.
You're right.
also has to do with post and coloring. There's more range in this camera to stylize, push the blacks, or add more contrast. the footage was okay it just needed but colored a little better. on log footage the lighting realy has to be on point.
A lot of things could had helped to make this footage/situation better. The proper lighting or even some color grading (I just added the conversion LUT from RED and adjusted ISO/WB) So I agree with all of these comments. However, the point of the video is to explain why I personally consider the KX a well rounded camera more than capable to handle any situation. It’s all about the guy holding it. (This was my third time shooting with it, just for the record). Thank you all for taking the time to watch, I appreciate the feedback.
I agree with you. Keep it up! @@Ernesto_media
I just got into these, loving them so far! only had a few days but so much fun!!
Great product indeed.

did you stabilize the footage in post production?
Some of it yes. Specifically the static shots.
Thanks! Great vid.
Glad it was useful
Do comparisin video of top cine lenses like zeiss, sigma, irix etc
Great idea, I just need to have access to these other brands😅
@@Ernesto_media you can rent them, also make video on photography lenses.
@@Ernesto_media also make comparison video on different DSLRs and video cameras like arri vs red vs sony.
Those are all great ideas, I’ll keep them in mind for future content. Thank you.
@@Ernesto_media thanks for replying and you reply fast😅. One more idea shoot with cine lens and dslr lens on DSLR to show difference and same with cine camera.
Great video, keep up the good work! I subbed so I can see more of your work!
Thank you 🙏🏻 oh trust me, there is more coming! 😁👌
I ditched mine because the 200 degree focus throw is just too short for me.
Interesting, I feel it’s quite smooth and long based on my previous experience with photography lenses.
@@Ernesto_media Yeah I figured 200 degrees would be fine when I bought them. I miss focus less using the Meikes that are 270 degrees though. I always pull focus from the barrel though. If you have an AC pulling focus it wouldn't matter. I like the Meike look more overall but they aren't as fast T2.1 vs T1.5 for IRIX. I bought a Canon CN-E 24mm T1.5. It's nice and fast with a 300 degree focus throw. My issue with it is that the lens is too large. There's really no perfect option.
Exactly, using the focus motor handle from Tilta I see how 200 degree may not be enough. I ended up pulling manually most of the time in a recent shoot.
@@Ernesto_media I am not sure about the Tilta handle but using a Nucleas M, you actually can change the focus throw and make it longer. For pulling by hand I prefer 270-300 degrees over 200 though. What I experienced with the IRIX over the Meike is the shorter focus throw, combined with stiffer rings, and overall larger lens diameter made it harder to pull vs the Meikes.
Good review. I have all six IRIX cine lenses available at this time (with the 150mm Macro but not the Tele version). I've shot three short films with them so far and really like the look. The materials are great quality but the build can be inconsistent, as you discovered. I never had to return one, but the tension in the focus and iris rings are inconsistent between lenses. New purchasers should check each lens over carefully and make sure they are satisfied. On full-frame sensors, there's noticeable vignetting when wide open and softness in the corners (not necessarily a bad thing, depending on the look you want). The vignetting disappears and the sharpness improves dramatically when stopped down by 1 - 1.5 stops. On the faster lenses, I typically shoot at around T2.8 anyway, and I'm very pleased. The plastic lens caps are crap, so I replaced mine with the newer kind. The only downside is that the lens hoods supplied with some of the lenses won't fit in the storage position with the cap attached. No big deal if you're using a matte box. The magnetic filter system is also convenient. I'm looking forward to the 65mm lens that has been announced. One thing that attracted me to IRIX in the first place was the atypical focal length choices. Coming from a stills background, I already have an assortment of fast primes in "normal" focal lengths and it's tough for me to justify buying a lens in the same focal length.
Very well said👌
Me gusta mucho lo que hacen ....
