It doesn't sound the same to me at all... all that comments must be listening through phone speakers.... I hear more bass on the BC183, and more grit and even hi-mids on the BC109. Did you have the "clean" trimpot all the way up on both?

You should look into getting the Roger Mayer Visage which is the 50th Anniversary Octavia with internal jumpers to get all 45 tonal tweaks that Roger did for Jimi

To my ears the Bench mark is the Tone bender in the middle The others sound like Boosted versions in some ways. I am in the process of building a Tone bender my self. The only difference is that I will be controlling the amount of voltage going to the transistors hence Bias. There will be a third knob. It's interesting to note I bought an sears and roebuck copy of the 1.5 back in 1966 and it used 2 AA batteries instead of a 9 volt. Thank you for shearing c]8-)

I don't know why everyone shits on the BPC copies, I have one and it sounds almost as good as my buddies old one......but you hen again so does the show he I built. It might not be as cool, but BPC makes good stuff. The mki tone ended I got from them is the best mkii I have ever heard!

I believe that's the trannies (ATES192) in the early germanium Schaller Fuzz units. The earliest had Siemens AC-151's, I managed to score some originals in the correct range and sent them to Brandon who's building me one right now. His attention to detail is something else!. Great sounding units, he knows these circuits inside out.

That Dope Priest sounds awesome. But man, this original V3 in Tone Bypass mode sounds glorious !!! Always prefered vintage V3, V4 and V5 in this mode (much more ''gnarly'' than when tone engaged). Thanks for the comparison, Cheers

🎉Got one of the used off Reverb last year. Mine has the standard set germanium BART transistors. Sounds very much like this one, especially after I set the internal trim pot so the bias knob operated as yours does here. Before I’d gotten that corrected, the pedal sounded too wooly and indistinct. Prior owner must have played around with that trimmer pot and forgot to reset to factory specs.

This one sounds more gated than all the others I've heard. Maybe needs an adjustment? But still sounds pretty darn good! She has redesigned the box on these to a smaller format. But the price is over $400!

I've been using the Ramble FX Twin Bender, which is the best Mk.2& 1.5 Ive come across.Like a Fuzz Face and Bender in one, with a fat switch, mid boost, and full bias. If you ever come across any of Skin Pimp's rare and discontinued, they are always dialed in AF.

This would've been more useful had the fuzz knobs been at about 2 o'clock or wherever the sweet spot was for each fuzz. That's Hendrix did, saw it in person 2x

Sorry but this is not correct. You have to dial the fuzz back to hear the real differences in tone between the 2...both of which I own. Like this is just a waste of time. They sound alike all the way up but turn them down and....big differences.

what gain level are the transistors? sounds great!

Additionally, the reason the 1.5 MAY have been around before the Arbiter Fuzz is because Dick Denny's VOX Fuzz circuit is virtually identical to the Arbiter Fuzz Face circuit!

Never buy anything from British Pedal Co ... their shady business dealings with stolen guitars from a wealthy Italian Collector speaks volumes as to their character. Just go buy from the Macarri's or Lucy Rush.
