The guys hold the Quickest Single Pass and Fastest MPH Records for Sick Week! And they made history again with their 6.2416 Average ET! This incredible average puts them Second Overall for the Quickest Average ET in Drag and Drive History, behind Jeff Lutz’s 6.19 Average from Drag Week 2016. It also puts them ahead of Tom Bailey’s 6.29 from Drag Week 2019. Tom is coming for them and all the small tire competitors, and reminded Brett he is still the only racer with a 5 second Time slip….
On Day One, more than 380 racers gathered to take on South Georgia Motorsports Park for the 4th running of Sick Week, the Super Bowl of Drag and Drive.
With the event hosted so early in the year, many cars struggled to stay together, creating a slew of delays. From head gaskets to accidents (thankfully everyone walked away safely), the teams would ultimately only be allowed to make one pass for Day One.
Brett and Jim made a safe pass to make sure they could get down and stay in competition. They left Day One with the quickest pass of the day from their 6.488 at 225 mph!
We drove 320+ miles to Bradenton for Day Two and the guys were able to swing a bit harder since they know this track well. Day Two’s run dropped by nearly three tenths, to a staggering 6.210 at 231 MPH! This is a new Day Two Sick Week Single Pass Record! And set their two day average at 6.349 - Which is the quickest first two days in Sick Week History.
After Bradenton, we drove nearly 200 miles to Orlando Speed World and the track was set to make history! The team at OSW put on a clinic for track prep. Many racers ran PBs during Day Three. Brett and Jim were finding their groove and the car was beginning to show it’s incredible power. The guys stunned the fans, announcer and the thousands on the freedom plus Live stream with a Sick Week Single Pass Record of 6.206 at 232.51 MPH! This dropped their average by more than a tenth, giving them another Record Three Day Average of 6.!
We started later in the day at Gainesville Raceway, meaning the temps would be warmer than previous days when the guys would make their run. Did this cause them to slow down a tick or did they work on making sure they got down in case a Day One issue arose.
For Day Four, they had done it again, running a 6.225 at 230 MPH pass put them in the Sick Week History books again with a Day Four Single Pass Record. This would set their Four Day Average at 6.237!
With the shortest drive back to SGMP, and knowing their trailer was on site, Brett and Jim knew they only needed a solid pass to make history and put a small tire, small block car, steel roof and quarter car in the Overall Winner spot for the week!
With multiple passes, they were able to run the Second Quickest Pass in Sick Week History with their 6.079 at 236.80 MPH!

Drag Drive Repeat is dedicated to the drag and drive communtiy! We will visit with participants of events like Hot Rod Drag Week, Rocky Mountain Race Week 1.0 and 2.0, Sick Week, and many of the other events that are beginning to happen!
If you are new to drag and drive style events, think of it like Two Lane Blacktop (you know, the old movie with the horrible ending). The participants of these events will drive their car from track to track, on public roads/highways, allowed only to use the parts/tools they bring with them in the car or in a trailer towed by the racecar. You must be self sufficient to compete in this type of endurance drag racing! There are no trucks with trailers that are following you to pick you up when you break.
