Awesome, did you mix the paint colors or does it come that way. Is it plastty dip?
@roberttorres4893 I mixed the black ground coat myself but the demon paint came premixed, its from teroson. the paint is solvent base with a 2k clear coat.
Nice Work !!!
@Jsevillla thanks Jorge 😊
Awesome work as always
@wackyraces824 thanks 😊
Master!! GreAt Job!!! ❤❤❤
@Jsevillla thanks Jorge 😊 🙏
When you’re complete you can re spray mine 😂 only 20 mins away
@classic1989mini by the time I'm finished I'll be close to retirement 😂😂 it's taken me that long.
The tin was professionally delivered by ace ventura 😂 great to see some high build on it. Really cracking on with it now. Looking forward to the next one
@MiniDaly87 i think they dragged it behind a horse & cart at some point 😂
Great job rick. Repair looks good 👍
@@MiniManLes thanks 😊
The repair looks good. nice work here!

Well done Rik 👏
@Stubacca48 thanks Stuart
Looks great. 👍
@@tbex9580 thanks 😊
Wow all the panels back on it it looks great. That crossmemeber turned out well. And now you have one part back on. Pedal box next 😂
@MiniDaly87 it's quite the look now all the panels are on. Looks more like a car now.
Taken me just over a week but managed watch all episodes from the beginning. Got to say that you have done a fantastic job. One thing though, you need to stop putting your hard work down as it has been done really well and you should be happy with it as I know we all are with how far it has come along. All I need to do now is get myself a mini and take the plunge as been putting it off for far too long.
@wackyraces824 thanks for those kinds words, they mean a lot. Now velma is taking shape I'm really enjoying myself & you'll not regret it if you do it yourself. Thanks for watching there's a lot of episodes 😲.
Nice polish work Rik 👌
@@Stubacca48 thanks 😊
Looks good now all the panels are back on
@@MiniManLes yeah it really does
Great job looks good ,did you spray base coat over the Raptor or just clear coat
@paulp2129 thanks 😊. I sprayed base in a few areas of the raptor because some areas were see through.
WHEN YOU EOXYED THE BARE METAL HOW BEFORE YOU CAN APPLY PRIMER AND HOW LONG CAN IT BE LEFT
@jasonblann33 the tds sheet said as soon as the cure time was finished you can prepare the epoxy for paint. The epoxy can be left as long as you like, don't think it has a timescale. Mines been a few months. The longer you leave it the harder the epoxy is to flat. Hope this has answered your question 😊
Exccelent!!! Master !
@Jsevillla thanks 😊
Great progress mate
@@classicminiworkshop thanks 😊
Nice one mate looks cracking another big step forward. At this rate you will be driving it out of the workshop in the spring
@MiniDaly87 thanks john. I'd love to drive it next year. We'll have to see. I've got to rebuild it yet 🙃. That'll be interesting.
@velmathemini won't be a bother on you. You have came a long way with this. You do need the next project ready though 😂
@@MiniDaly87 I definitely won't be getting another project 😒 this has been enough, although I could start doing hotwheels 😂😂
Well done Rik 👏 looking really good
@@Stubacca48 thanks 😊
Good work
@classic1989mini thanks 😊. Just a shame I couldn't get a good angle on the camera.
Your getting there, great stuff that raptor I did my son's ute with it, the complete outside of it with a cheap hvlp gun and I drilled out the gun nozzle, it worked out awesome and you use less material, I've uploaded it onto my channel. Cheers Marty's projects 👍
@@martysprojects yeah the raptor is good. I'll take a look at the ute 👍
You cant beat the screwdriver of truth. 😂
The screwdriver of truth 😂😂. I was hoping that the floor was in better condition. I was told by the previous owner that the floors had been done professionally 😂😂.
@velmathemini it looks like I done them 😂😂😂
@@MiniDaly87 definitely not...
Really glad I started the series from the beginning it makes mine less daunting now 🙌
@MiniDaly87 I used the term "baby steps" & took it panel by panel 😀. I'm glad I've finished the panel work & I'm onto something more familiar. I have nightmares about the re-fit though 😱. Plenty of research should sort it though.
@velmathemini any problems give me a text and I can photo stuff mate we are all in this together
@@MiniDaly87 no worries 👍. I'll definitely do that 😉 😄.
Will act as an extra layer of sound deadening! Keep at it, nearly reassembly time!
@TheColinf1 that's what I was thinking. Thanks 😊
Great tips rick I'll be hitting my own with dark primer as well looks great with the raptor on mate. Really taking shape now mate your smashing it 👍
@MiniDaly87 Thanks, john. No worries on the primer tip 😉 👍.
Well done Rik. It's definitely taking shape 👍.
@Stubacca48 thanks Stuart 😊
I like your idea using raptor in the boot. I scratched my fresh paint fitting the tank.
@MiniManLes thanks 😊. This is the exact reason for why I did it.
I'm not one for negative comments because it's not easy putting yourself in the spotlight I couldnt do it but the only place I'd use raptor coating is on the underneath of the car just my opinion but keep it up mate 👌
@thomasmacbride8006 that's no problem, I know it's not for everyone. I've only done because I'm quite clumsy & I feel I'd damage the paint fitting the tank & the spare wheel can do some damage as well. Thanks for watching 😊😊.
You are just a speaker....
@ruivaleriano9273 not sure what you mean? But thanks for your comment 😀.
It's looking good matey, well done.
@@malcolmlatham-bennett931 thanks 😊
Currently not able to walk. I took a shot every time you said epoxy 😂😂 only joking. Great video. Yout after giving me an idea now to put stone chip in the boot. I had been thinking on something instead of paint. And really good to see velma in one colour
@MiniDaly87 I definitely don't want to use or say epoxy again 😂😂. Using the raptor in the boot is genius 😂. I'm also using in the car on the floor.
@velmathemini great for sound deadening I kept the original stuff in mine. Shock horror. It wasn't rotten anywhere so it's a saving. The carpets hide my sins 😂
@MiniDaly87 I removed my original sound deadening because of all the previous welding & some had already been cut up. I found rust underneath some of it too. The crossmember, bins & some other parts are getting base & clear, anything else like the bulkhead, floor & seat area get the raptor.
@velmathemini your probably right to remove it all I think I was just lucky with mine. Can't wait to see further progress mate. Just watching your other builds now cracking colour on the sportspack
@@MiniDaly87 I particularly liked the surf blue, probably my favourite 😍. It's a shame because I've never seen them since 😪. I think I painted those in 2007/2008. Although I think the date is on the pictures 😂
Well done Rik 👏
@Stubacca48 thanks Stuart 😊
are you using paint stripper or sanding the paint off
@@jasonblann33 I thought about paint stripper bit decided against it, purely for the strong smell it gives off. So I just sanded it all with 80 grit & strip & clean wheels.
Great work rick 👏
@Stubacca48 thanks Stuart 😊
Looks so fresh 😮
@@MiniManLes thanks 😊
Great work and videos,which make of primer paint have you used as their is so many and is it a 2k also the raptor paint looks good will definitely use on my mini floor
@paulp2129 thanks. The epoxy primer is upol, it's difficult not to get runs lol & it's 2k. In my garage at 18 degrees takes around 5 days to cure.
Nice video mate I like the way you are tackling the panels by section I think I'll be doing the same with mine. Fillers after epoxy is a great idea people don't realise the moisture that's in fillers.
@MiniDaly87 agreed with the filler. I probably should of investigated this a few years ago & put a new qtr on, but hey ho, I'm down that rabbit hole now. Yes I have to do it panel by panel due to the lack of space. A respray can become overwhelming & I feel if I just concentrate 1 panel at a time it's easier. Thanks for your comment 😀😀.
It's coming on well
@@babsilicious you should take a look tomorrow 😀

@user-up8fi4nm7n I'm not really sure what this means but I'll definitely give it a thumbs 👍.

Pretty sure that bracket on the inner wing is for the charcoal canister on the later minis. Might be wrong but pretty sure I remember my 1993 Rio having one
@philhuggett4776 thanks for answering this question. I've got the part in my boxes of bits. Didn't know what it's purpose was though.
@@velmathemini I've just done a little googling and it looks like it's simply to collect fuel vapour rather than letting them vent to atmosphere. I'd just ditch it mate. Save having to clean up that bracket 😁
Did sprayed over with a colour after the bedliner was hardend?
@games-hy7km no, I added the colour to the bedliner & just sprayed it on. Then just left it to dry. I used a 100ml solvent base.
Excellent mate.Looking good 👍
@@leemellor7198 cheers Lee 😊
Excellent mate. Looking good 👍
Excellent mate,enjoying the channel keep it going.
@leemellor7198 thanks Lee 😊
I used the tintable Raptor on our mini but the color was slightly off but its good stuff. Should protect it for a few years that. Id recommend doing the boot floor too, inside, the back of arches and the bulk head behind the engine
@@karlgt9989 I believe mine will be a shade off as well, but I'm fine with that. The protection the raptor will give out weighs the colour difference. It's definitely a good choice to use it. I'll be doing inside the boot & inside the car. I wasn't thinking of the bulkhead, but now you've mentioned it... I think it's a good idea. I've still got 3 bottles left & I'll save on base & clear if I use that.
@@velmathemini you can only tell on the sills if you really look but yeah its good stuff
