Thank you for these videos and your channel in general. I find you very informative without being flashy or gatekeepy. Thanks for helping me on my cigar journey.
15 dollars in swe?? its like 30 here in norway wtf
this one has so much hype now, I don't know why.
Thanks for this delightful review! I'm really loving this cutter, might buy myself one. Love that gorgeous craftsmanship, typically what I look for in a knife and a cigar cutter! I prefer cigar knives as I can resharpen the blade (a few strops usually does it) and use it to cut stuff if I forgot my pocket knife. But those cutters are also a bit more dangerous, sometimes more expensive, and harder to bring places. For some it might be something to consider as a huge con. To my use however the pros overwhelm those cons, to each his own. Oh and 'Les fines lames' in french is both 'thin blades' and 'sharp blades'. And it also is a term used to describe either someone very witty/sharp or someone noticeably good at fencing - usually a rapier. Or by modern extension for example a cook skilled with his knife or anyone with a clear talent for very precise acts with a blade. It is thus a really clever name they chose, really anchors their craftsmanship in their french culture.
great review, I just bought my first 5 pack of these today, $33 a stick in the US in packs of 5. I am very excited, I have noticed that most reviews mention they seem to be on the younger side. Might let mine age a little bit as I don't think I will go through these that fast. But I agree on smoke times, I have noticed that a lot of smoke time estimates tend to be on the faster side for my experience. Sometimes I go a bit faster, other times I go a bit slower, but I do prefer shorter sticks, I think this or a Robusto are my go to sizes. But this is my first Cuban purchase so I am very excited to try!
Really hope we get a 5.0 someday. Hope all is well
This is one of the best videos i've come across lately! Well explained and to the point. Kudos!
When you “age”, can it be done for years in trays in tupperdor or would you say no, it needs to be breathing in wooden humidor for those years?
The best way is a tuperdor with a cedar tray or keep it in the cedar box it comes in. There’s an argument that a traditional humidor could dry out a cigar compared to plastic which can’t steal moisture.
14:06 love that you have taken all of the cigars that came in wrappers out. You really don’t see that often.
I’m always in awe of what people that live outside of the US can get when it comes to Cuban cigars! Exquisite collection you have
3:20 love the Cuban shorts!!! I’d have this by my bedside
3:03 such a random humidor. Casually has a Meerapfel at the bottom like it’s a cheap girls smoke lol
Your expertise is soo good! This video is a must watch for everyone who is getting into cigars!
So interesting! I’m in us and very familiar with new world cigars and a friend just brought back some siglos from Mexico. Look no forward to them! The aroma is simply fantastic!
This was a very comprehensive list, had many of those as an experienced smoke will look for the ones I have not had. Great job! Thank you.
CAO 660 Flathead is great
Hi , need your advice.. between the Hoya De Monterrey Epicure Especial and the Romeo Juliet Short Churchill , which cigar is smoother and sweeter tasting ? Thx
CIGAR RATINGS ARE A SCAM!!!! been smoking for 10+ years and never read this particular cigar sucks .its patting each other on the back ,your cigar is good oh thank you so is yours :)
Never smoked a bad Gurkha
Robainas has such a good flavors for me is a solid A
Davidoff should definitely be S tier. Some of the best cigars i've smoked
Hey do you store your travel humidor inside your bigger humidor when back at home, to keep it ready to go? And please tell about your setup process for this travel case and cost to do so?.. I am also wondering about thermo electric wineador to keep the bigger batch of cigars at steady temperature, but I heard people having difficulties to maintain steady humidity for those..
Good info, but just get to the point dude! Too much talking.
You need to bring humidity down..... I have tried Perdomos right out of my humidor at 70% RH and your description matches my experience. You don't seem to find anything, it feels like all flavors are gone or are very subtle. But, keeping it out of the humidor for a day or dry-boxing it and bringing down RH to 60-65%, brings out all the flavor the cigar has to offer. This is a good guideline for all Nicaraguan cigars which are heavier and thicker and can hold big amounts of moisture. The 20th Anniversary Sungrown is Nick's favorite cigar, and I concur, it is a great tasting cigar. The 12th Double Aged Connecticut is also great! Cheers!
Nice, where can I find one? Thanks
I have like 80 and I think too many! Lol
Is the Drew Estate Undercrown artificially flavored?! I am not looking for infused cigars either but almost considered to try one, as the bridge to get into medium sticks..
Sweet! Rumors has it these were the last 1200 cuban cigars JFK ordered before he signed the cuban embargo.. A bit young you said, so how much years do you recommend to age this one?! And would you think that the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure N°2 is the better cuban choice to get instant bang for your bucks that does not need to be aged and is ready to go?! Some people say that all cuban need to be aged for years before smoking, not ideal if you just want a good instant smoke of the shelf.. Also interesting what the price difference was for you, between these two..
Very interesting video, good structured information - thanks! I would like to see a line-up for morning coffee, line-up for smooth single malt whiskey, also line up light summer fruity wine/pilsner..
how long do the boveda packs last?
The #1 starter cigar I recommend is the Macanudo Hyde Park Cafe. Well made, flavorful, the right size, affordable, won't blow the top of a newbie's head off. Nobody jumps straight into the deep end of the pool. Everybody starts in the shallow end then moves to the deep end as taste, experience, and preference develops.
You can put cedar sheets in the Tupperdore, and works fantastic
It's not a one off. They are all like this. My Father are always well constructed but I've not finished many.
Brick House is one of my favorites, it's very good. It has an amazing Cedar flavor (at least the Habano ones do) One of the best from the Tampa based companies IMHO. I haven't tried this one yet, like you, I'm not a huge fan of Connecticut leaf because of how bitter it is, I always prefer Nicaraguan/Ecuador/Honduran tobaccos. There is a J.C. Newman American Puro called "The American" if you're interested in that, it has a Florida Sun Grown wrapper and is pretty good. I'd take a Brick House Natural over it, but it's not bad.
Hope you come back
Smoked one today. Will be buying more tomorrow 100%
Have gotten a bunch of top end Cuban sticks recently, getting this one shipped soon, to be honest most have been plugged, all have 5+ years and on them…I guess the QC is a real issue as they say…they all taste pretty identical as well
What am I doing wrong... keeping my cigars in a tupperdore... with a 62 boveda.... hygrometer shows 64-65 RH... cigars WILL NOT stay lit. Multiple sticks. Wtf.
Try puffing on it more frequently
Where’s H upmann
At $800+ a box, there are no value brands left anymore!
Just use a wet paper towel
Those of u who are new to cigars: almost every brick-mortar and online offer cigar grab bags with a mix of cigar types and prices I just purchased 16 for $50 which is $3.12/per there was a cohiba Connecticut, ep Carrillo la historia, Caldwell industrialist, etc all 16 are more than $3ea it will give u a wide range of price, flavor, strength without breaking ur pocketbook. I’ve been smoking cigars and pipes for years but always like to explore and try stuff I wouldn’t normally try. Best advice is to not pigeon hole ur self with one type or look for that one perfect cigar always keep an open mind if u don’t like something the 1st time wait a year or so and try again ur palate will change over time
i have a golf ball collection . anyone want to see that ? plus i have a golf ball marker collection . now thats exciting
Have the Cuban families that had their plantations stolen by the commies been given their plantations back, or been compensated?
RP has a couple with good flavor. But they lack quality. If it wasnt for the Sixty and the Edge i would put them in f tier with Ghurka. Perdomo I feel should be in middle to high A tier. Quality is top notch flavor is great, they eat the tax and they draw test every cigar. My Father should be S tier. I am a bit partial to the Diaz de Gloria. So maybe bump AJ up a tier. Otherwise this is pretty spot on to what I would rank.
Forgive my ignorance here; why isn't Plasencia mentioned? I admit, I didn't watch the video in full. XD
Great content, thanks 🙌🏼
Which lighter did you use in this video?
Camacho being higher than Perdomo is whole madness
S- Cohiba, H.Upmann, Hoyo de Monterrey, Partagas, Trinidad, Robaina (they need the Don Alejandro back), Romeo y Julieta, Bolivar (need the Gigante back).. now I want to watch I Love Lucy when they go to Cuba ..
