Old School 1" Headset Conversion to 1 !1/8th Threadless Using Old School Frame & New School Fork !!
I came up with this so I could have Threadless forks on my Old School Mongoose frame. You can go out and do the same miss matching headset pieces , I wanted the Old School Tange/Tioga MX402-320 headset look though. Hope you enjoy !!

Hello, very good video, what size is the headset? Well, I need to do the same. I hope you can guide me.
I wish I found this earlier, I've been trying to find a replacement threaded fork for my 80s 24" bmx with no luck!
Could I do this with a Walmart bike?
you didnt make that. some people in china did. you made the order on ebay for 44 dollars. (heavy breathing)
Maybe read the description where he covered that.
These headsets still available? Like to use 1 1/8 forks in a 1inch frame
His Email address is in the description.
Are you still making the headsets
Can make them for Titanium road bikes??
Easy to use like it cause it portable

So you took a stock headset and turned it down in a lathe to fit your head tube?
What's with the camera
LOL @ "deckles" Good info here. I like the touch of the hex spacers to mimic the old school headset.
Great video, very engaging presentation; can I ask if I have this right, the frame tube diameter isn't really important as long as the top and bottom cup inserts are the right diameter? So you made cups with insert "walls" thin enough to accommodate the one inch fork? The knurled spacer (fake top nut?) was an awesome touch even if you didn't use it in the end.
Threadless looks way cleaner
Except for that goofy ass spacer.. If he could get that fake nut with a different spacer to work, it would look a _lot_ better.
What ever happened to this guy? I saw some chatter on the BMX museum where he was ripping people off. I need a conversion head set but the internet isn't giving up many leads for BMX conversions.
Where would I find a headset like that?
Sir im no pro but i wanted to change my bmx quil stem to a modern bmx stem can a standard 20 fork fit in a modern day stem?
where did you get the blue frame stickers from? thanks
why do i feel like its just a 1" straight tube fork going into a 1" head tube
dope, gonna do this.
Awesome, guess it would be nice to have a lathe in my back room too! Great job, are you selling these? If not, you should! 👌👌👌👍👍👊💥
Its that a threaded fork or threadless?
Did you made or purchase that headset?
I have a 1980 and 8q powelite frames 20 in w 1inch headtube want to install a new stem. 1 1/8 but the headtube/ forks are q in. Can I just buy a 1 1/8 in to 1 inch converter quill to make it work?
Hi i got haro group 1 al can i convert from thread to threadless fork
He made those parts I think? That spacer is ugly but he did a really nice job on that conversion. They make parts that fit your head tube just measure the head tube and find the parts on eBay or the bmxmuseum. You can also get nice custom spacers and stainless bolts from the bmxmuseum.
Hi can you please help me I want to do the same conversion what would I need to get to do this as in the bearing and such
The camera looks stoned...the image of the headset looked like it was under water.
So this was a custom built headset then?
Why would you take an old school bike and turn it into something new? Why not just build something newer?
Awesome 👏
Were can I get one ? I have an 1" bontrager can't buy forks anywhere for it I'm in the middle of restoring it please let me know
Where did you get this adapter?
Love to know how the invisible bearings hold up
Cool.. informative.. innovative.. you got a thumbs up from me!!! But 1 question tho.. why TF wud u want to put a new school skyway fork on that old school goose??? I love both schools of bmx bikes .. but that goose didnt deserve that.. lol..
Where can I get this headset?
that just dont look right, nice stem, butbit just dont look right on the goose
thats the old racing frame from 80 ish nbl
Hi how much are these and where can I get hold of one please?
Always use grease on all parts
Hello sir where you buy headset please
Where can I buy this headset?
I see by the way I got mine custom made by my friend replicate the Verde conversion cup to fit modern integrated headset so I can use 1-1/8 fork with built in race. Regardless what we use, as long is a 1-1/8 definitely the durability compared to 1 inch is far stronger and rigid.
Whether it’s leisure or for money, I think the custom machining cups really work with modern fork. In terms of price is far cheaper than hunting for the old school fork and stem be it used or NOS. In terms of weight and durability, I’m very sure it’s far lighter then old ones. I think it’s good if U can mass produce. Many would love to get from U. Especially if U can make the cup that fit the modern cartridge bearing than cage bearing.
1 inch threadless to 1 1/8 threadless what does he need to convert his kink bmx ?
Are you can't tell me where I can't buy this aluminium threadless headset? I want to convert my 82 crusier Hutch.
Hutch, haven’t heard that name in a long time 👍
where do i buy now !! seriously????
I missed where you got the head set and barring cup?
u should paint those forks mongoose blue like the blue ones used to be.....that chrome doesn't match the shade of those nickel plated frames. and follow the blue theme with a few other parts to bring it altogether
nice goose to update the head set with. I'd like to do this to my 88 haro master one day. but ur saying I'd have to purchase the lineage haro haro fork set......
What in the world is a "Dackle"?
I think he was saying decal
What are you using headset?
