Spoiler alert! What didn't? They actually became bethroted by the end of the novel. It was because of a lot of political reasons & changes of events. But it ended up being necessary as she becomes Aub to another territory after war & has to marry him, who was bethroted to the one they defeated. You'll understand more if you read or watch (idk which Wil come first). But yeah. Oh & turns out it was all well planned out by him lmao. He didn't like living away from her & actually hated the people of that territory, so he let the situation escalate to get rid of all of them & get her back. Following this discovery, it was implied that he did develop romantic feelings for her. Keep in mind she was already in the body of a 17 yo ish & he always knew she was older than him as urano.

@@fckyo7789 spoiler alert Lutz starts developing a thing with tuuli at some point, near the last arcs. At first it felt completely intentional to me. Like it was obvious they wanted him out of the game, as if poor guy had a chance or interest after all that changed. Later tho it started being more convincing. As they bounded over their respective situations & struggles to begin with. It started as a close friendship & changed when tuuli & he started to grow up. Tuuli is a very attractive girl too after all. As for with ferdinand, I assure you, everything else that happened & was happening was so crazy that it wouldn't even startle you much. It's not like they went overboard & made them ooc all lovey dovey all of a sudden. They pretty much were loyal to themselves, her being oblivious & disinterested as always to anything other than books & him, being the one who knows her best & the tactician he is, promising her all the books & library insanity she wished for to accept. For her it was a also the best choice she has ever had since marriage came into qstion. All her previous options being pathetically underwhelming or dubious at best. He on the other hand was not only exceptional as an individual, but also very important & close to her. So for her it was ideal.

I also watch some spoiler about the other characters relationship and damn the author really likes this adult x child relationship. I can't help but think of author as a pedo I know it's just a fiction and to not take it seriously but damn it's just plain weird and well it's disgusting in my opinion I rather have it no romance at all.

@@fckyo7789 it wasn't a romance per say tho. Till the end it has been much more political than anything. That's why it's so enjoyable. I suggest you don't base your opinion on what others say & read for yourself. As someone who read till the end, I can tell you that nowhere through the web novel was any adult x child relationship been romanticized. The instances of it were actually incriminating situations to show the Barbary of their world, even if they feigned nobility. It is after all a nearly medieval world she, as a modern person found herself in. Most of the pedophilic events/aspects were very repulsive & disturbing to her & others alike (even if they're used to it unlike her). She took it to heart to get rid of them & people who were used to it deemed her a saint just for wanting to protect children. The lack of piousness to very existant & receptive gods was also the main problem of the story. The whole ordeal with the temple was exposed to be part of voluntary sabotage by the royal family to unrightfully keep power to rule to their family. Which was super dumb since it caused a huge drop in closeness to the gods & thus mana in general. All the disgusting things that happened in the temple were only a way to sully the place & make it look repulsive to nobles, when it should have been a place of worship. That's because the gruthissheit (book of mestionora & proof of kingship) was only acquired by few people loved by the gods. Which would come through piousness, wisdom & richesse of mana. Also as I said, the whole thing with adultxchildren relationship, was very much looked down upon, even if political marriage was a thing & adult age is basically 16 (17 in ours since their year is longer than 365 days). Nobles would allow age gap in marriage but engagement/marriage was only allowed after graduation. Which is the official age of adulthood. As for rozemyne's engagement, if you believe that ferdinand was a weird choice, you didn't see her 3 previous choices. One was Sylvester's very bratty & immature son (a real, undereducated 10 yo) another was a very disgusting & pompous adult prince who wanted her as not 1st or second but 3rd wife! The last was the least disturbing but still not enough as he tried to force her hand through a game because he felt she was being undervalued by her territory & found her then fiance undeserving (which was true but still) he also wasn't much older than her physically since he was still a student. The problem with him, aside from the forceful approach, was that his mana capacity was too weak for her. Which is the main reason why ferdinand was her only option. For a marriage to bear fruits in their world, the partners need to be compatible in mana quantity & quality. Otherwise, even proper engagement would be impossible. It'd be a white marriage at best. That's why by the end of the novel, ferdinand became her only acceptable choice (he was the only one who could sense & balance her mana, especially with the influx of it after the problem with the gods & her shudder growth). The thing with him was also mostly political, as she needed someone capable to help at her side ruling a new bigger Duchy. There was never any explicit romance between them as both characters aren't known to be the most romantic out there. It'd be too ooc to make them all muchy all of a sudden withing the last few chapters of the series. All the romantic references were mostly other people's interpretation of their intentions & actions. Her being so devoted to family & ferdinand getting attached to her because of the care & affection she showed him. Plus she was already grown up by the time their subject came up. Which is why he had a change of heart about her. He couldn't help seeing her as a woman, now that her physical age matched her mental one. It was still very platonic tho. Especially since she was used to being perceived as a child by that time & still viewed him as a mentor/guardian. That's Hy I like that the author didn't push any weird romance on them even with the new situation. I'd definitely see it becoming a thing if there was one or two additional arcs, but it was the end of the story. There was no way they'd just suddenly become a thing out of the blue.

Urano was like 21ish when she died and reincarnated but she only regained complete consciousness and fully assimilated into her new body when she partially died at 5 years old. That makes her soul 26 years old by the BOS and 28 when she meets Ferdi. Meanwhile Ferdinand is 20ish when he meets her. And Ferdinand looks like he doesn't age because he looks far older than he actually is thanks to constant stress and his upbringing being filled with stress as well.

Well he knows she's an adult, older than him as urano & unlike others, he literally SAW her as her old self. He never saw or treated her as a kid. He always had greater expectations for her because she's supposed to be more mature than the normal kid. Also, spoiler alert, Even if things do happen, if you could call a political marriage a thing, it won't be till nearly the end of the books. When she's aged up again & is considered an adult. Before that, their relationship kept being platonic for the longest time as she still looked like a child. It was a last minute decision, since no one else could be paired up with her, with her new amount of power.

To be fair. Pairing her with Lutz would feel even worse to me. Cuz unlike with ferdinand, where both could be considered adults, Lutz is an actual real kid. He's not reincarnated & neither are any of the other same aged boys of the series lmao. So we need to have our moral standards straight for all sides not just ferdinand.

@@SparSA-xl7td yeah reincarnation into a younger body always makes relationships fucky. And I certainly wouldn’t like Lutz either. What I hoped for was either no romantic relationship, or one with an adult once she is an adult herself. And one that isn’t Ferdinand or any other adult who she had a parent/guardian-child relationship with. Ferdinand feels extra weird because that is what their relationship was for most of the series. Hell she says so herself so many times. I get that highly questionable political marriages or marriages of convenience are a thing in this world, but the knowledge that those almost inevitably also involve some romance, even if just for heir creation, still makes me shudder.

@@flixelgato1288 spoiler alert, Well honestly when you actually read till the end it'll actually make sense how they end up together. The transition, altho it was quick, was pretty logical & natural. & just so you know the whole betrothal thing with him showed up at nearly the end of the series. At that point she had recovered her real age body & had gone through at least 4 different fiancé options through the series, one being Sylvester's young son lmao. Seeing the other ones & how things turned out with most of them, it just became the best & only logical option for her. Although I'd have liked to have a proper transition in their relationship at least as you said. Since everything just started going really fast as soon as she got back her body maturity, because of the events they were in. We didn't get much time to actually think about the relationship or give it much attention. When it started, It felt very much like any of her previous betrothals & only after that, when things were starting to get officialised did we start seeing some signs & moments that implied some feelings were indeed involved. From what I've heard, There's also a whole side story that delves deeper into their time as fiances, where this transition is kinda taken care of. It involves time travel & all, that probably the root of all the shippers. As about her being sent back in time to meet past academy time him to save him. There he seemed to have developed feelings for her, but later forgot her because of the gods involved & all. Thing is, at some point in the academy arcs, when the subject of his marriage was brought up, it was said that he already was betrothed once at the academy. But they said that for some reason it was called off. Which, with this entailed he only remembered being betrothed to someone in the academy without much details before she went back to present. That's where he finally was able to put a face into those vague memories. I guess it was a way for the author to legitimise their relationship. & it was pretty convincing to me, seeing how much of a desperate cause the girl is romance wise lmao. At least she found a march, that wasn't as morally ambiguous at the previous ones.

Idk just how much longer it’s gonna go, but it’s pretty clear how they’ll end up and I’ve come to terms with it. I have to acknowledge he’s the best partner possible, that much has been obvious for a long time. I’m not sure it’s ever not going to feel off to me though.

Cuz although we know there isn't much better choices, it still didn't feel totally right with how we got used to them two. Their relationship felt too platonic for too long to just be convincing romantically. The actual side story seemed pretty interesting to me on that aspect & I'd have loved to read it with more details but I only got to find spoiler posts & lots of fanarts about it. It's pretty hard to find the real web novel's side stories & the light novel & manga are both still behind.

(Roze)myne only got engaged to ferdi when she was 15/16 years old, they both loved each other and cared about each other.. I can't tell the details cuz' you seem like a anime only and won't understand because the anime is not that deep into it. One of the reasons frrdie didn't care was because he knew that her mental age was the same as him and +[ if you are aware of mana] they were the only ones compatible for marriage and kids at that point.
