one thing I disagree with with "marriage standers" is that I feel like they stick their head in the sand when it comes to the claim that the marriage covenant is lifelong and binding , cus we clearly see in the OT that the marriage could be ended and remarriage was allowed , in exodus 21 this seemingly is the case and in Deuteronomy 24 this clearly is the case... we also see in romans 2 that the heathen are under the law of conscience which is basically the law of Moses without the ceremonial stuff .... meaning , even if Gods will is that someone is married for life, God sufferes non believers to divorce ,at least under certain circumstances... thats why I think it sounds strange that a non believer would all of a sudden be under a new law once they marry a christian , cus they re not... because of hard hearts God is still overbearing with them and allows divorce , why then would a christian still be bound to this covenant if the non believer is in a position to dissolve it ? ... not under bondage is a very similar rethroic to being "Set free" which is used for divorce , im still studying this topic so dont take what im saying here as sound doctrine , study for yourself

When I was trying to originally find out what fornication specifically meant, usually 25 instances would be referenced in my search, and for some reason they would always neglect Esau being called a fornicator. Some people believe that it’s because he had two Hittite wives that’s upset his parents, but I do not believe that is in context. What is in context is him giving up the inheritance of God’s blessing for strong physical desire, and regretting it later. Thank you for drawing attention to the fact that fornication is not limited to different types of sexual immorality, and that we may “ in the moment “ trade our inheritance for hunger, wealth, prestige, power, vengeance, control, advantage, maybe not even for ourselves, and falsely feel justified.

Great message. If a church promotes accepts or encourages divorce and adulterous remarriages. Bible says avoid anyone named a brother and to not even eat with such a person. So if we aren't supposed to eat with a brother in adultery it's safe to say we aren't to attend a church full of practicing adulterers. 1 cor 5: 9-11 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner-not even to eat with such a person.

What do you do about David in the bible. he committed adultery God didnt tell him to leave Bathsheba , though surely their baby was taken from them because of their sin but they stayed in this marriage yet he will one day be Israel's king in the Millenium.

I have been watching your older videos (from four years ago) on the subject of divorce and remarriage, and it being adultery and the problems it causes. My parents divorced when I was four years old. It has been very hard for me all my life, dealing with this. My parents remarried and do not see themselves as being in an adulterous second marriage. I fear for them. I know repentance is required. After I, myself, got married in 2005, my stepmother seemed to use that as an excuse for me not to visit with her and my dad anymore. She told me on the phone, three months after I married, that “your priority is your husband”, as if that was an excuse to cut me off. It’s just really hard. All I have ever wanted is a relationship with my father. Besides all of this, my stepfather was abusive (verbally and emotionally) to us. He passed away in 2022, but the abuse memories are still with me. It seems like no one in my family or even extended family values the sanctity of marriage. They also don’t seem to understand repentance from sin. Any advice?
