    They don't need a huge cage if you don't keep them in it. So long as you don't have another pet that will prey on them, they can free roam just fine.

    They are lovely and so is your home. I like that corner with big windows facing the backyard. You are blessed to not be doing apartment living. All live ones poop. I guess if one wants a bird that doesn't poop, it's going to be taxidermy specimen. Every 7 minutes is high pooping frequency. Lucky for us, we are 1 to 3 times a day though never enjoyable. If I could invent one thing, it'd be a toilet that sucks the air out from the rim immediately after it runs water into the bowl.

    I've got a pigeon <3 she's the sweetest little thing. Please do not buy from pet stores, though! Many people have paired doves that breed and they do not have enough room to keep them. Same with pigeons. Many pigeons do not get properly rescued and when found injured tend to get euthanized because everyone thinks theyre all wild animals. Both doves and pigeons are domestic! Thats why they're so close to humans. They know humans as good people. So please! Get yourself a pigeon or dove! (Doves are much louder and pigeons are quiet but clingy)

    3:12 Give her strips of paper, or break uncooked spaghetti and give them to her. Poor girl is stressed when she is having an egg. Also carry the water to her, she will drink it from your hand. I've had mine for years. I stopped feeding mine that brand you mentioned. She likes regular seeds MIXED with pellets. Safflower seeds are her favorite, and she goes crazy for bird peanuts (ZERO salt, and always break them in small pieces for them) and they LOVE tiny pieces of CHEDDAR cheese. As treats only as it's high in fat like peanuts, but high in protein and calcium.

    Cant believe they sent it IN THE MAIL I'd be furious, I never let my girl go by herself any where, poor things

    Do they try to fly around the house, or just stay on their perch? I’ve had mine for a week and they keep trying to fly all over. I’m considering clipping their wings but I don’t know if they will settle down once they’re used to being here. They are also only 2 months old.

    • @HondaTrumpAi
      @HondaTrumpAi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      NOOOO! I HOPE YOU READ THIS. NEVER CLIP A BIRDS WINGS. They are NOT like parrots. DOVES and many other birds WILL hurt themselves AND it is NOT good for them to clip. It will HOLLOW out the wing structure. DO NOT DO THIS EVER.

    • @HondaTrumpAi

    Hey just saying petting doves on the back makes the bird think it’s mating so just don’t do that.

    Beautiful story! SOOOO happy for you!!!!! Very well & thoughtfully said! Very realistic!!!!! Pickle & Peanut are very lucky to have you as pet owner!!!!! I wish all pets had such great owners! Not all are this fortunate! Kudos to you! Beautiful doves! Very inspirational video! Most if not, all birds poop frequently bc of their quick metabolism. (And what? Humans don't?) Big deal reg. cleaning up hard wood floors after them! Way easier than dogs! Don't have to walk them in the middle of freezing winter!!!! Great spot for play stand! Much love!!!!!!

      YOU ARE WRONG. I FEED WILD ANIMALS AND SEE HAWK ATTEMPT TO CATCH THEM. A WHITE DOVE IS BAIT TO MANY PREDATORS, THEY SLEEP PEACEFULLY AT NIGHT. NEVER LET A HOME ANIMAL GO. BAD HUMANS AND ANIMALS EXIST.

    Also do you know if they can be potty trained like some birds?

    • @brit1859
      @brit1859 ปีที่แล้ว

      They can be potty trained to some extent. I’ve seen other people do it. The issue is, they poop about every 7 minutes, so it’s virtually impossible to get them to their potty area that frequently.

  • @Lorna.Bowman
    @Lorna.Bowman ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I just ask, after you paired them, did he want to stop being snuggled by you? As I noticed, he kept edging away from your hand.

    • @brit1859
      @brit1859 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, once paired they are much more focused on their mate, but they still accept snuggles and are easily approached. They still allow me to pick them up and snuggle them ♥️
