For those who love traveling and finding remote places to camp and cast every waterway that has the possibility of holding fish. I customized a canoe with a DIY outrigger and whatever my thoughts can come up with to fish any kind of water, even Lake Superior. Subscribe and follow me on my travel across the states.
Teaching kids how to fish, two kids. Multiple species.
I went to the fishing pier to watch dolphins passing by and I saw a large family of 7 checking out the same thing. I spoke with the parents and found out they had gone fishing with a guide and didn’t catch anything.
The boy, Levi, loved fishing so I offered them to use my fishing pole and help them catch some fish.
I saw one of the girls, Claire, who seemed interested, but didn’t say anything. I asked if she didn’t like to fish and she made it clear she wanted to fish. I gave her a Joe’s fishing pole and she went right to work.
I love watching kids fish, because they have the excitement that we once had for simple things. Their energy was infectious.
It was one of the memorable part of the trip.
To thank us, the family bought us lunch and Levi kept asking me to visit them in Michigan and he would take me fishing at his pond.
To Levi and Claire, sorry it took so one to upload.

Cast netting for Mullets on Florida skyway bridge. Huge mullet run.
มุมมอง 2.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Passing by a bridge in Tampa Bay, we saw cast nets on the side for the road, every net full of mullet. A local told me that hundreds of thousands gather for the spawning and it is a feast for man and animals. There were so many packed into a small area, every time a pelican dove, it came up with fish.
Summer fishing on Platte River in Michigan

It was too early so the salmon were not running on the Platte River, but we had the itch to go fishing. We cast the line out for whatever bites.
DIY rig your canoe for great lakes fishing.

We kayaked Apostle Islands for six to eight years and caught salmon and trout, which Joe loves eating. We found it difficult fishing in a sea kayak and so I thought of taking my canoe on a trip. When I called in to make reservation, all went well until I mentioned my vessel was a canoe. They didn’t permit canoes to camp on the island for safety reason. I understood because the first two years k...
Mackinac Bridge 2021 July 4th celebration. Fireworks.
มุมมอง 7193 ปีที่แล้ว
Mackinaw city is the largest firework display in Northern Michigan. I walked around a large gathering to watch the fireworks and no one seemed to be certain which direction fireworks will be displayed. When the fireworks began I understood. There were two fireworks going off on the north end of the bridge, which seemed small compared to the Mackinac Bridge. I got a short clip and ran around loo...
Bridge fishing for mullets. 200 pounds on one castnet throw.
มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
While driving along skyway fishing pier entrance rest area we ran across three people struggling to pull up a castnet full of fish. We pulled over and I lent a hand and we continued struggling for several more minutes. It was the largest catch of fish I had ever seen with a cast net. My brother looked up the average mullet weight and it was 9.7 pounds. Joe counted about thirty mullets and some ...

View it after this video, if you are interested, “Catching sheepshead with natural bait, mud crab [Tips and tricks]” th-cam.com/video/PHXt7ClJXVg/w-d-xo.html I caught two sheepsheads and decided to cook an Asian sea food for my brother, since I don’t lik...
Sunshine Skyway Pier fishing, 2021. Is it worth it?
มุมมอง 47K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Sunshine skyway fishing piers were formed when a freighter crashed into the Sunshine Skyway bridge in Tampa Bay on May 9, 1980 where 35 people perished. The new skyway bridge was built next to it and the damaged bridge was made into North and South skyway fishing pier. We did research on which pier had better fishing and found no clear answers. We tried our hand at it and the following was our ...
Catching sheepshead with natural bait, mud crabs, [Tips and tricks].
มุมมอง 1.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Before coming to Florida we looked up “Florida fishing” and found few videos about sheepshead. I didn’t think anything of it, but sheepshead is a big deal for the locals. Everyone talked about how amazing the fish tastes. They would give away or toss back other fish, but not sheepshead. We tried bait from grocery store, shrimp from bait shop, but the best bait turned out to be the natural bait ...

Mosquito proof your vehicle with old tents.
มุมมอง 1224 ปีที่แล้ว
On our trip to Florida we were swarmed by mosquito and noseeum. That was the first time I had experienced noseeum and it is by far the worst insects I had ever encountered. Luckily, I prepared mosquito netting for the windows so that we can keep them open while we were asleep. On Tampa Skyway there were no bugs because of the body of salt water on both sides and during winter, but when we got t...

Camping Grand Island Lake Superior with my diy outrigger canoe.
มุมมอง 4314 ปีที่แล้ว
We took our home made PVC outrigger canoe on Lake Superior to explore Grand Island. It is a beautiful island but a bit crowded with the all the tourists checking out the sunken ship. I would have enjoyed exploring more of the island, but the waves kept us within Murray Bay, not to mention all the boats and tourist boat traffic. During off season the place would be amazing. All in all it was a g...
My pet turtle Raphael loves mosquito larva
มุมมอง 1194 ปีที่แล้ว
I couldn’t get my baby turtle to eat anything for a while. We gave him worms, chicken, salmon and turtle food from the pet store, but it wouldn’t eat. I threw some mosquito larva in and the predator came out. It was then I was able to see how fast it was in the water. I took out my video recorder and this was the result.
What the hell is on your rod?
This fish is call lane snapped has to be 8 inch
I guess there no fishing any catches a fishes, that’s suck! Then I won’t go to fishing there.😅
You really don't know anything about fishing I can't even watch anymore it's terible
Your at New $$$$ in Sarasota. And you just butchered that fish. They have a really tough rib cages which you filet around. You should also bleed the fish. Disaster.
nice!
hahaah wow, asian outdoorsman burns the crap out of a little hot dog after making epic gourmet kung pow dish in the woods. love it! tight lines!
Hahahahaha what a joyful video 🤣🤣💀
*I don't know, man. I didn't see the first Joe Dirt looking fish in the whole video.*
These are the access roads and rest area roads. I can see the skyway from where I live. If you stop ON the skyway bridge, you will either go to jail or get killed. BTW....most Florida natives who would be netting mullet ain't going to do much talking to whom they may think are tourists. You ain't putting money in our pockets, so most of us don't care. All those bridges out there have names and not one of them you were filming on is named Skyway. The Skyway is the giant sob with the two apexes on top...can't miss it. Next thing you know, 'Ole Ralph from Wisconsin going to try to stop and have a picnic lunch and get his whole family wiped out. No offense intended.
No offense taken. Helpful info always welcome. It is not the main skyway bridge.
Sucks
After watching the filet of this fish I have to say... you may enjoy reading or playing pool. Whatever you do never fillet a fish again. LMFAO
If you don’t want it to be a strong fish flavor, you have to break the mullet necks and let them bleed. This removes the stronger fish taste.
Nope
People please eat more mullet there awesome
Butt it ain't 200lbs it's about 75lbs
Awesome video
Great👍
It’s a bonet shark, most likely there everywhere around skyway.
Fake it till you make it
Love to see a video on how you did your PVC outriggers and your sailing rig.
Those are 2/0 sabikis I think. The /0 is like the 00 buck shot, it means big. You want like number six either red or green or both. Look up the saltwater reg brochure! Fdub would not like to see an undersized lane in a “tank” next to a bucket of shrimp, just want you to have fun exploring and catching! Not in trouble with Johnny Law because FWC doesn’t play and I would hate for a court date to give you a bad taste about what you’re doing. It’s cool to see you’re excitement and interest and soon enough you’ll be hooked lol
That was one of the most entertaining fishing videos I've seen lol
Thank you. Much appreciated.
02:38 Oooops Sorry Buddy.... Love it, I'm the same way if I drop a fish! And I always apologize to the bait when I hook it up.
Nice video Dan!
Love your video very awesome make sure you like and subscribe
The skyway is full of bait fish so you don’t have to worry
Wanna see the whole setup please
If you spend more time fishing and less time playing around with those gadgets you had you might catch something
Skyway can be a real adventure...you can lose fish of a lifetime all night long...
There’s big fish at skyway, you don’t know if a small snapper will eat your pinfish or a 100 pound grouper. You need to have a heavy setup.
@@eugeneabreut960 monsters
Skyway isn't worth it for unless Bonita runs. But there alot of other spot/bridges that are like 100% better than skyway around tampa bay. Hint Google map is your best friend
Thanks for the tip 👍
@@flygreenturtle1429 welcome!!!
Not a hammerhead but a bonnet head shark
That’s called a Lang snapper
Ty. We thought it was a bait fish.
I believe it is called Lane Snapper
Great 👍🏼 Video!!!!!
You guys are hilarious 😂 Great 👍🏼 video!!!
Greatest video I have seen! Very funny and entertaining. I too don’t know what I am doing when I go fishing but I still have plenty of fun doing it. Thanks for your video!!!!
I know what you mean. It’s great enjoying the outdoors.
Get it smoked brother. Then you will be in heaven. Mullet should be smoked, fried, or made into a dip. The small mullet are for bait. The rest are for food. Also they have really good roe.
Bleed that mullet and get it on ice ASAP
Those little fish around your light were ballyhoo. They're excellent bait. The shark was a bonnethead, a close but smaller relative to hammerheads. You can tell by the rounded head. Hammerheads are flatter in front. Bonnetheads are pretty good to eat. Great for ceviche.
The boats be there every morning it's very ignorant ppl trying to fish on the pier an boats come by non stop scare all the fish away..
Fishes around the Skyway pier are very used to see that kind of activities every day. They are not scared at all. From a guy that fish on the pier for VERY LONG TIME
I fish at the skyway a lot I love your vids can’t wait to see you catch a shark out there🙏🤟
What camera do you use ?
Sony FDR-AX53.
Love your video very awesome. Make sure you like and subscribe so you can see more.
The hammer head was a Bonet head.
You are dead on. We found out the difference later in the trip. Thanks.

Well where I live that's the number one fish for the south
Yea, I believe it. It tasted really good. I should have accepted larger one.
