Fix of Sagging Subfloor in Residential Home with I-beam TJI Trus Joists
มุมมอง 1Kปีที่แล้ว
I was having the carpets replaced in my home. Made a last minute decision to fix the a few "soft spots" in the flooring. There were a few specific spots where I could feel my feet sink slightly when walking on the floor. Having various power tools on hand I dove in and removed the current carpets and opened a section of the flooring to investigate and fix the sagging sections. Fortunately it al...
Actuator settings for an in-ground swimming pool with overflow spa, filter, heater and pool sweep.
มุมมอง 2142 ปีที่แล้ว
Made this brief video after several hours of adjusting my in-ground pull equipment and finally getting things in order.- mostly as a future reference for myself. Throwing it out here to possibly help others understand their own equipment. Also, I painted the pvc pipes with Krylon Fusion paint (black matte finish). Not for any particular reason other than the unpainted pipes had become an eye so...

In Ground Swimming Pool Drain Bermuda skimmer Troubles and resolution
มุมมอง 21K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Attempted to drain my in-ground Pool using the Pool pump and existing skimmers tied to main Pool Drain. No luck. It appeared my skimmers were not creating adequate water tight seals to allow effective pump draining. Might have worked with 2 new skimmer float valves but opted for auxiliary water pump instead. Saved time and money.
Polaris 360 broken float ball stem repair fix
มุมมอง 1.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
The "float stem" on my 10 year old Polaris 360 broke off unexpectedly after lightly tossing the vacuum into the pool. I guess the plastic has become brittle over the years- need to treat these aging units with care. Fortunately I was able to find the replacement part online for $26 dollars. Even more fortunate is that replacing the part took all of about ten minutes with removal of only 6 easil...
American Standard single handle shower faucet water hammer fix. Repair replace cartridge valve. Easy
มุมมอง 30K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Replacing a faulty 20 year old American Standard shower valve that had low pressure and flow with an intermittent knocking sound from hot water line. After removing the cartridge I found the problem was copper wire shavings (from upstream plumbing) was partially clogging the hot water inlet of the pressure balance unit inside. It might have been salvageable with a good cleaning alone. The two m...
2018 Honda CR-V Broken Rear Spoiler Repair Replacement Clips
มุมมอง 29K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Little lady pulled out of the garage too quickly before garage door completely opened and broke off the rear spoiler. Fortunately, only easily replaceable retention clips broke. and I was able to fix rather easily. The hardest part was finding the following right parts: Main Tailgate Spoiler Clips x 7 total (OEM Part# 91513-T6A-003) and Side Spoiler Nut/Garnish pieced x 2 (OEM Part# 90308-SZW-0...
Had the hammering problem and issues with the hot water. Saw the video then removed the cartridge. I found some type of material blocking the hot water inlet hole, cleaned it out then reassembled it. Works like a charm now. Crossing my fingers.
The real question is how do you REMOVE the spoiler if all those clips are permanent? 😬
Thank you for your well explained demonstration. You have saved a lot of people a lot of money!!!!
Brother, thank you for the video. Very helpful and detailed.
When draining do you leave both holes open on your skimmer or do you leave it in the vacuum mode
Yes. Left both holes open
Kyou for the info
Thank-you for the info
Your a legend mate Thankyou so much Honda wanted to charge the misses a brand now tail gate no way not now ahah cheers
Your quite welcome mate! Cheers to you and family.
Bro! You just saved me so much money! Dealership told me I would need a new spoiler since their chart said it was not serviceable! Quoted me almost $600!! Thank you!! Liked, shared, favorite and comment! Thank you thank you thank you for making the video!!
So glad to hear that! Yes. The video is all about saving folks from the "stealership" thieves! Haha. Your very very welcome 🙏🏼.
Can the rear spoiler be removed without breaking the clips? I’m thinking of painting and would rather have it removed…
Not sure. Try doing my steps backwards
Did you figure it out? I’m doing a mod too and need to remove it without breaking it. I’ll probably check the blow up of the parts manual.
I watched the video and I was surprised by three number of people who did exactly what my daughter did this morning which was backing up before garage door was all the way open. Your video was spot on and exactly what I needed. Thanks for doing the video
Very happy to hear so many people finding this video helpful after so many years. I'm sure Honda Corp has secretly hired a hit squad on me for denting they're profits. 😂
Lol this is exactly what happened to me and I am so grateful that you decided to make this video. The way you explain things are clear and to the point and now my CR-V looks like nothing has happened to it, thanks to you. The parts number you provided was also so helpful (found cheaper ones on Amazon). Kudos to you!!
You are so welcome!
Thanks a lot mate , It was was very helpful , if you can help to share the link form where I can buy the parts that would be great , thanks again .
No problem 👍
Thanks a bunch for posting this.
My pleasure!
This happen to me yesterday, I panicked at the beginning but after a while I was determined to get it fix , rush to the dealership and explained what happened, I have a pic and video and the guy said: I can sell you the clips $15 dollars each . I and I said : give me the parts name and number, I’m pretty sure they are available at a reasonable price online . Sure enough, got a package of 15 clips for $12 at Amazon, I know they are not the original parts but they do the job. I followed your instructions and done . I did it myself, no husband involved 😂. Thanks so much. Sorry for any miss spelling, I’m Cuban
So glad to hear Yanet! Yes. The Stealerships love overcharging for things like this. I'm surprised they even gave you the part numbers (though I do list then in my video). Good for you still!
If you would've took the water hose and slowly add water to your skimmer while pumping out your pool, that works just fine. It'll eliminate any and all air getting to the pump.
^This
Good to know!
you saved me a couple of hundred bucks too. 🙏☝☝👌👌
Happy to hear it!
Thanks for this video. I have same problem atm and looking on how to DIY. Someone told me i need to replace the whole thing😤 Thank u so much
Same exact story. Thanks for the info. You probably saved me about $500.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I backed my car into our garage door as well and has the exact same issue. Your video saved us 400$. Your detailed explanation gave us confidence that we could fix this issue ourselves and we did fix it. Can’t thank you enough.
I just did this yesterday. Thanks for the video. I'll order parts myself
You saved me! Thank you! I did exactly the same thing, except backing INTO the garage
Thanks Martin. Honda quoted 750$ to fix this. Luckily watched your video and did it myself with less than 50$. 😊
Fantastic!
Thanks a lot! Your video saved me $850.😅😅
You are welcome!
Martin thank you very much. You video help immensely. I appreciate you very much!
You are very welcome! Thanks!
Float values are never going to create a air tight seal AFTER the pump as shut off. The way they're supposed to work is once the pump is circulating, if the pool water is low, there's a chance the skimmer will become starved of water, in this instance, the valve will do it's job because the pump is already primed and the suction force will pull that float valve down hard and ever if there are minor air leaks, the prime will not be lost. Once the pump loses prime, you can't expect the float valve to form a perfect seal. One method is to insert a hose directly into the suction port in the skimmer and drop it to the bottom of the pool. Another method is to create a short hose that directly connect the drain suction port to the pump port inside the skimmer but even then, you may need to attempt prime for a while because there's a good chance the hoses will leak at the fittings. A utility pump should be the last restort because you'll be looking at 3 days of pool draining whereas the pump can do it in probably 3 to 4 hours or less.
Got it. Very useful info. Thank you
Thank you so much!!! I got exactly same problem (garage door, too😁), and, hopefully, I’ll save few hundreds bucks - thanks to your video!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great job thank you. I surgically removed my spoiler with the garage door as well. It came off easily :-)
Thank you for the enlightenment! I'm currently working on a pool with these Pantair skimmers. This pool is obviously missing these float valves but it is a rather unique setup if you think about it. I was wondering how the main drains functioned and didnt realize there were parts missing. As for yor problems of inadequate drain and air leakage, I believe the problem you are experiencing is a cracked return line. I know one if my lines is cracked (as was rhe skimmee) and as a result, my pump keeps drawing air the the ceacked return line. Use a endiscope or pool stethoscope to check your lines. I bet money theres a crack fouling up the process.
Rivian also includes a TireJect kit in the air hose bag for situations like this
Yes I know. On that same occasion I discovered it wasn't working. Rivian fixed eventually. Good to test that out before a long road trip
Super helpful! Saved me a ton of stress after a tree branch fell on mine and broke the clips
Awesome! Happy to hear it Luke.
Thank you very much for this video and the part numbers!!!
For those who also need to replace the brake light wire, part is called: 32163-TLA-000 Sub-Wire, High Mount Stop Light
You’re the real MVP friend. Second time my wife does this and this time the brake wire snapped 🤦🏽♂️
Do you know the part # of cover plate and handle , mine it’s in bad condition I replaced the cartridge but I need to change the rest I tried to order it from Amazon but the handle and plate are different please help
I had the exact same problem today. In the beginning I was drawing water from the main drain but then the float valve would float up and then sink back down. As the pool got more empty ( after draining about 2 feet of water out) I was having a real hard time drawing water from the main drain. I have a submercible water pump but it pumps so slow, that's why I was hoping to use the pool pump to drain the pool down for winterization. I can't any video that explains why we are having this problem of draining the pool from the main drain!
My little lady did the same thing today! Thank you so much for documenting this
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for this! A limb came down and knocked our rear spoiler down. Thanks to you I had the part numbers and instructions. I got the clips from Amazon and the side bolts from where you got yours. The clips were a bit fussy about coming out but snapping it all back in went so smoothly. I didn’t even get a quote to get it fixed after reading comments here because of your video. Thanks again!
Great to hear! Good job Kate. Anyone can do this! Super easy.
Thanks the same thing happened to me and thanks to this video I found everything
Glad it's still helping people years later. Same basic concept likely applies to newer models. Key is getting those elusive part #s
Take your Polaris Vacuum out of the pool , turn on the filter pump to drain water out of the pool, that's what I did and it worked. I don't use the Skimmer Diverter anymore because it does not really work. Hope this would help!
I'll give that a try! Thanks for the tip
Thank you!!! Just the video I was hoping to find. We backed into a half-opened garage door this morning. I hope to get the parts soon and do it myself.
Good luck! You certainly CAN do it yourself. Parts procurement is the rate limiting step.
Martin, you are a lifesaver. I could not find the second part number (the Honda dealer only gave me the first one). Thanks for the detailed video. Nicely done!
Excellent! Happy to hear saved your family some 💸 😄
Thank you so much. I got the same issue. Your video helps. Going to order and do it myself.
Awesome opossum! Let me know how it's turns out ok?!
I thought I was the only one that uses a rock to keep a skimmer lid down!
Wife just backed into the garage before it fully opened. Nice surprise at 7AM. Got the parts off Amazon, except the two side screws/clips.
Hope it went smoothly! If it's not too much trouble, please click subscribe and I'll get a free nickels for my efforts. Have a great day!
How do you vacuum your pool?
What was the outcome of your cya? I’m on the same boat currently. Were you able to get it down to 32ppm?
Yes I was Felix. Slightly miscalculated first time. Basic concept is drain 50% and refill to reduce your CYA by 50%. My pool was a non uniform shape with graded depth so I underestimated first time and had to redo partial drain twice (waste of water). So better to overshoot with single pool drain.
Thank you so much for this video. It made me feel better about my run in with the Garage door lol. I was able to get the clips cheaper from Amazon for about $18 (not oem) and the bolt things at the local dealer. The rep was nice to check for coupons for me and I paid less than $10 for both. Blessings
Where did you find the 90308 nut garnish on Amazon? Every other place takes too long to deliver
Saved my day! Dealer insisted on selling me the whole thing with the fasteners. 0:21
Yeah those Stealers are something else... always looking to make the straightforward a complex issue. Smoke and mirrors my friend. Keep your loot. 😆
😓 'promo sm'
?? Don't know what that means
THANK YOU for sharing this video. I unfortunately did the exact same thing with my 2018 CR-V. It was an expensive mishap ($$$$ for garage door replacement), and your video saved me a trip to the dealership.
i prefer using a separate pump usually for draining, but most main drains are only tied in with the deep end skimmer so what might work better is plugging the shallow skimmer with a rubber or threaded plug to have more dedicated suction to one skimmer (the deep end one). The shallow skimmer most likely is plugged from the bottom on the front hole since they are usually not tied directly into the main drain but are still tied in with the other skimmer (back hole). hope this helps for any future troubleshooting problems, this also helps if you are trying to get more dedicated suction from either skimmer
I don't have a second skimmer only one deep end skimmer and I'm having the same problem as this guy.
I all ready replaced the cartridge. No help. Vibrating pipes & low water pressure. For some reason my NEW Menards hot water heater drain valve has been leaking for 2 days. I have over 2 inches of water in my basement. I did a temporary fix till I get new water tank drain from Rheem. Now I have no cold & very weak hot water pressure in shower. What am I to do when I stand in water looking up & my neck decides to give the imaginary pain. Have to clear room where the access panel is & see what the hell is going on with no cold water.
