Had mine for 5 years. I use it for business use for massage therapy so its used a lot. Just had to change the water inlet valves which was easy. Only other issue I've had is the water tray not draining where the softener goes.
I have. Gfw850 washer and it still wont drain i replaced the drain pump and the inverter board already and still wont drain i havent had the washer 3 years an paid wayy to much apparently any other suggestions an it changed the error codes tob38,18
Mine still works fine after 5 years. Now im starting to jear a load banging noise, like its being hit with a hammer.
We own one, a common problem is that the roof of the detergent dispenser somehow gets the water dispensers clogged. When that happens the water does not spray straight down, but off to the side, and then drips on the floor. I had to figure it out myself because when we had a repairman come he came up with some expensive item that would not have fixed the issue. The current issue is loud squeaking when running an average sized load. We think it's the shock absorbers.
Any option to drain test without having to wait 15 god damn minutes ?
My front load is just over a year old. I wipe the gasket and leave the door open after use. Well, it leaks detergent from the gasket. What do I do?
Surprisingly, I had the bearings in the motor go bad on this machine for me. Need a new motor.
I'd choose a LG front loader instead of any speedqueen front loader. We had the SQ FF7 front loader and it was leaking from the first day. Took months waiting around for them to get a replacement and then they told us some BS about tilting it back a bit to avoid leaking. Called BS on them and then they failed to deliver the replacement, we said kick rocks and bought a highly rated and respected LG front loader. Yale appliances also doesn't think speedqueen is necessary because there are so many good front loaders and SQ is double or triple the price. Not worth it. Top loader, I'd choose speedqueen just for the only fact that every other top loader is subpar (read trashy) currently.
Anyone know why this washer keeps locking up and saying canceled at the end of each cycle
I have this washer and I get a very loud screeching noise while it’s filling mid cycle. It’s like a cavitation type screeching noise. Any clues to what that is?
I need an opinion. I have a 2017 front loading GE washer and I've noticed that the door is not locking properly. Occasionally it will latch and then it unlatches and latches again to start the cycle. But today I heard it just clicking quietly and I had to close the door and open it a few times power it off or it even to engage at least once and it's very hit and miss. I don't know if it's possible to contact you for further details. I am trying to get it corrected but I am a little annoyed as it was pretty much brand new when I received it back in 2021.
I have a GE washer and I already fix it like 4 times now it stop working because the door won’t lock I already replaced sensor 3 times keeps giving me the same error does some now what could be wrong with it so I can fix it ?
Can you make a video of it
How do you program the control board and the identity
Those GE brand washer are a 💩 those are very tricky to fix and found the issues. That brand makes me crazy, nothing working at this point and not responding to find the error code. Definitely is the worst brand.
Speed queen isn’t available for me What would be a close second? Kenmore Maytag LG Mabe Are my options
GE WASHER FRONT LOADER: The door is locked. When I run a cycle i hear the lock click and the screen shows the door is locked, but at the end of the cycle the door remains locked. HELP
How long do you wait? You could try turning washer power on then off again quickly?
I have gfw550ssn2ww no power ? It plugged securely into a working outlet
Speed Queen. Pfft. Glad to see they still make something for the flip phone crowd. And charging them dearly for it. I'll take my new LG with modern electronics, features, capacity, at half the price. My last LG went 17 years no problems. I'd be plenty happy with 15.
I've had this washer for almost 4 years, only thing I've replaced is the water inlet valve assembly twice. Other than that it's been pretty solid
I had to do that this past weekend. I kept getting a h2O supply error and I had also noticed the automatic detergent dispenser wasn’t working. My washer is less than 2 years old.
@@508achannell1We just put laundry powder directly on our clothes rather than using the drawer dispenser options because we were told most modern front facing machines will have issues over time with the dispensers and hoses. The exception is when we need to use Woolite or bleach which isn't often. Powder in a box is also much better for the environment.
I just bought this washer. I am curious what happened to your machine to need to fix the water inlet valve assembly?
I don’t really know why it went out and had to be replaced. I am careful with it but what I have read is that it’s common part to go out bc it’s plastic and cheaply made. Who knows 🤷♀️
We have one of these and water is leaking from under the top panel. I don’t think the drawer has any options to leak but I wish there was a video on what the source could be without taking the whole thing apart.
We had and have this issue. We realized that the top/roof of the detergent section would get covered in soap or something else that clogs the water spray from coming straight down. The sprays would then go off to the side and leak out where it was supposed to be. This caused our issue with water leaking from inside the machine. We take a wet rag and really clean the inside of the detergent's inside. You will have to take the detergent dispenser tray out first. Becareful if it's full of soap, keep it level or the soap will spill out. Have a towel ready to sit it on or just sit in in the washer tub.
This is 700 RPM, I believe my Whirlpool WTW4900BW0 washer is 800 RPM
I hear a little bearing noise, probably not worth repairing. Not a loud bearing noise either. I watched a video where the washer leaked. That’s probably what caused it to wear out, because water leaked into the bearing. It’s not too loud, my VMW has a really loud bearing.
@@coolrobuxgaming interesting part about this machine is it’s been like that for months and hasn’t got much worse.
@@appliancealliance4444 Have you’ve seen a VMW with a really loud bearing, I’ve seen the issue on multiple. I believe a Kenmore 25102, my own Whirlpool (WTW4900BW0), and an Amana NTW4516FW. My uncles machine is a Kenmore Series 500 model, it looks like a 25102 to me, it has a loud bearing like my Whirlpool, I believe my aunt got the NTW4516FW with bad bearings. So it’s actually common on these models. I’ve might’ve seen more with bad bearings, but I don’t remember them. These are the ones I can remember. I’ve seen a VMAX, it’s a newer one too, model MVW7232HW, that thing is running with bad bearings too and is in my other uncles house. I might’ve seen more VMAX machines with the issue but I didn’t remember those really. Since I know of about 3 VMWs and 1 VMAX that activity has a bad bearing. I haven’t actually seen a bearing issue on an older Whirlpool Cabrio in a while, I think the owner of the MVW7232HW used to have an older Mayrag Bravos with bad bearings, but it was since replaced. I haven’t seen an older Cabrio style washer with a bearing failure in such a long time now. All the ones I’ve seen recently actually have good bearings. Washers can run with bad bearings for a while. I believe mine had the issue for like 3-4 years, and it still works today. Mine has had a bad bearing for a while now, it’s really loud but it still runs today. Smurdle450 had a washing machine run with bad bearings for eleven years, I believe I know someone who has a HydroWave with bearing issues, and that machine still runs and had the bearing issue for like 11 years I think. It’s an Infusor HydroWave. The modern Whirlpool VMW machines (except for the porcelain tub versions) seem to have bearings that rarely fail. I haven’t seen a bearing failure in a Whirlpool washer with a 4.2 cu ft capacity or higher.
@@appliancealliance4444Mine ran with bad bearings for 3 years and still spins and works, just really loud in the spin cycle. Much louder than yours, I’ve heard 3 VMWs in my family with bad bearings, so I’m not alone. One VMW (newer one too, model MVW7232HW). All the VMW machines I know with bearing issues are kenmore 25102, Whirlpool WTW4900BW0, and Amana NTW4516FW. All have really loud bearings too.
Hello some body knows about tge ultra fresh vent cycle? The time is setting automatically? How long is it?
8 hours of starting and stopping. They claim no real impact on your electric bill.
I have done 3 out of those 5. Next up will be the pump and motor pastic pieces you mentioned. Ours is a 2010 version. How long do think she can last.
Is a gas or electric dryer better?
We have codes 18 25 23 19 3 34 38 and will spin but wont drain. Took pump out and it works outside the machine abd soits water fairly well so not sure whats wrong now. Can anyone help. We havent had a wash in a month and so over teying to figure what to replace.
Did you ever remedy this?
I’ve owned LG appliances, Samsung appliances, GE appliances and even Maytag appliances. They don’t make them like they did 30 years ago to last 20 years. The average life expectancy on any of these appliances is roughly 5 to 7 years. I moved into my house that had generally new appliances and I’ve had to replace the built-in microwave, the stove/oven And an LG refrigerator that had a 10 year warranty that had the compressor go out in four years. LG did not wanna honor the warranty because it said that it would not be able to replace that same type of machine. After going round and round and arguing back-and-forth, they finally paid me about half of what I paid for it. so I spent $1600 on a refrigerator that four years later they replaced it with giving me a check for $920. Needless to say I don’t buy LG appliances anymore. Samsung had a lot of issues but they did send a repairman out, but from time to time we still get Issues with that appliance. Knock on wood I’m having good luck with my GE refrigerator. The only issue I have with this particular model is the speed and the size of the ice cubes are not worth the icemaker. Icemakers in general are a problem in most brand of refrigerators. It’s better to just buy a 10 or 20 pound bag of ice and keep it in a Standup freezer.
My friend and I both bought 1940s and 1950s stoves/ranges partly for this reason. They can typically be easily fixed and the parts tend to stay available because they're universal parts used in different industries. She's now looking for a vintage fridge for the same reason but I want the modern features more than she does (I want counter depth, filtered water and auto ice) so I've learned the best thing I can do is read reviews the best I can and get the longest warranty possible and cross my fingers. I also know that door ice and water have more issues so the last one I bought just drops the ice down into the freezer. It'll still go to crap sooner than later I know. Sucks. Maybe if I could afford a Sub Zero that'd help but even those probably don't last these days. Needless to say, Samsung is the worst of the worst. They say a basic Maytag is currently the most reliable fridge.
Had ours for about 5 years and so far I’ve only had to replace the water inlet valves. About $50 and 30 mins of my time. So far not too bad.
That was my issue. Same time frame too.
From all the research I've done and what I've personal heard myself from an appliance technician, there is no competition for the speed queen brand. We just bought the speed queen FF7009BN front loader and we are hoping it will show us why their brand is so praised. That being said, the first day we use it, it has minor leakage in two areas, the detergent drawer and the bottom of the tub door. They said they will likely have to send a replacement unit, because that's what they had to do last time, you can't fix it on the spot. Not the best introduction to the brand, but if the replacement does well, I will be at ease. If the replacement fails us, I will surely be pissed off.
So is it working out so far ?
@@AVMAR No, we got tired of all the waiting and empty promises and just went back to the normal market and bought a nice and well respected LG front loader at costco. The sales guy in charge of our order tried telling us that the speedqueen rep told them we may have to raise up the front of the machine a little bit to fix the leakage issue. I called BS on that and said we are not responsible and will need another washer. They failed to deliver the replacement on agreed and confirmed day so we said kick rocks, full return and bad review. We do not believe speedqueen is necessary. It's a little bit better in some areas for double or triple the money and their repair rates are higher than LG for washers. We won't talk about fridges. We don't run a business so we have no concern for "commercial level" appliances. LG is highly recommended for front load washers and statistically has the best repair rates, so we will stick with that. At the end of the day, all we need is a washer that will not give us major issues within say 10 years. We need it to wash well and then that's it. Yale appliances also holds this viewpoint as they don't see any significant reason to recommend a speedqueen over other great front loaders. As for top loaders, I would avoid all of them unless it was a speedqueen, that market they seem to actually make sense. But for front loaders? I wouldn't think about a speedqueen ever again.
do u think heat pump dryers or even all in ones are better then the trasditional electric dryer speed queen uses?
@@randomrazr while heat pump dryers are known for being more efficient when it comes to overall performance id stick to a traditional electric dryer.
@@appliancealliance4444 hmm how about gas or electric since speed queen offers both?
h2o, and it's not water line/pressure/valves. What is this?
I thought LG originally made the direct drive motor?
Great question, LG was arguably the first to refer to the motor design as “direct drive” however the overall design was originally made by Fisher and Pakel in the 90s. They referred to the design as “smart drive”
@@appliancealliance4444ok got it, thank you!
Don’t buy GE they are hard to fix
lol no they are not. I just repaired mine easily and I'm a novice. Samsungs are the ones not to buy.
I recently purchased the 5.3 GE Profile Smart Ultra-fresh Front load Washer. After pulling out the dispenser detergent tray after every wash at least 1/4 cup of water leaks into the tub. I need to open and close the dispenser tray at least 3 times before the water leak completely stops. Have you heard of or encountered this issue with this unit? I recently sent a video to GE Corporate and they claim this is not a known issue with this unit. I am being advised to call a GE technician for service under my warranty plan. I sure would appreciate any information you may have on this issue.
Insane 1000 to fix. A new one is 1000 . No thanks. Cant fix buy new one..
It should be ilegal to sale this tope of items to consumers
Where is the filter access on the Maytag do I have to take the front off to get to it?
we just bought the washer today at best buys and now I am worried about it being a total waste of $$$$
I bought mine about a month ago as well. Im totally disgusted. My issue is with the smart dispense system which is the only reason I bought it. It just is constantly leaking soap and even after the spin cycle there's still soap in the seal I've sent them emails and they just keep sending me all the stuff to troubleshoot which isn't working I just want to return it I'm so pissed
@@c.a.s1900I was told to avoid using dispensers with front facing washers as much as possible because this issue is common with them. Put powder (better for machine and environment) directly in the drum on your clothes. If you must use the dispenser most would say not to use the feature you bought it for. The thing is that even without that feature it's still a better washing machine than most. I learned about all this before I bought ours and just accepted that loss from the get go because of all the other features. I felt better knowing powder is better for both the machine (avoiding dispenser) and the planet so this was a sort of calculated compromise.
@@Ayram9they replaced the dispenser out but I'm too afraid to use it now cuz it unloaded all the soap in a cycle. I don't know if it just cleans to well and it's pulling old detergent out of my clothes or if the machine just isn't rinsing the soap out. It's such a mess I really wanted to love this machine, it's so pretty.
@@c.a.s1900 I would just avoid the dispenser like I do.😆 Or, only use the small amounts at a time. I only use my dispenser for bleach and the occasional liquid Woolite but almost always just the powder directly in the drum because the planet-friendly powders are also less harmful on delicate clothing with some exceptions. All that thick gooey detergent being stored in there can't possibly have a happy ending IMO. It was a gimmick and maybe even one that they really thought would work, and it didn't pan out. But the rest of the machine really does have too many great features to ignore. At least the 800 series does and therefore the Profile (one model higher and their top model) must as well. Side note: the 800 dryer has been replaced now with non-stainless drum and possibly another missing feature or two (not even sure it's still called the 800) leaving only the best features with their Profile line unless they left the 800 washer alone but I heard that's about to have fewer features too regardless of whether or not they give it a new series number. So I see those of us with the slightly older machines at 800 or below as luckier because we each got more for our money compared to now (or soon). The Profile will continue to have it all I'm sure.
Why on earth would you avoid the dispenser. It’s there for a reason
running a speed queen washer and dyer that's 40 years old never any issues. i wouldn't buy any other brand from what iv'e heard people saying there going through appliances every 5-6 years. id'e run out and buy another speed queen and pay the speed queens tax!!!!
Awesome video dude! Thanks a million
How do you disassemble this style dryer to access thermal fuse?
Bought a new unit. It makes the irritating whistle sounds when the door sensor is triggered.
This is a great video.
Where did you buy your new switchboard at?
Just bought a TR 5 Speed Queen washer and DR 5 drier. Yes sir they were MPR costly. But the 5 year warranty and build quality won me over. Plus if we had went top of the line GE or other the cost was not that far apart. Good video
Thanks for the video, man. i had mine for over 1 year, and boy, it's falling apart little by little. The codes are another thing to be knowledgeable, i am sure you know, but us clients won't. The door seal goes out quickly, with a tiny leakage. Question , buttom leakage: Would you say that's the pump with a small crack?
Speed Queen would Be My Choice
Nice job. Thanks for sharing. what was the tool you used to connect 1/4" flare port to the end of tubing to flush lines with Nitrogen?
The tool is called “process tube adapter”
Thanks, I have this on the way. Hope to God I 🙏🏾 have a solid one 🙏🏾 that will give me at least what my Kenmore gave me, 10 years minimum
