Mike Renouf is lost in space.
A designer, musician and general all-round oddball, Mike writes primarily techno and ambient electronic music using both hardware and software instruments. A long intro/buildup this time... I tried playing with reverb in a few ways to create space or take it away to hint at claustrophobia.
There are a few overpowering sub frequencies from the Zoom pedal - I hope I EQ'd things so that they're not too bad on the ears.

Kicks are the most difficult sound design challenge.

Hi. The Circuit is used to make two synthesizer voices. I treat it like a mono synth usually. (Sorry, I cannot speak French, so I hope this translates ok!).

Always a pleasure to hear a new performance after a bit of absence, especially when it has many surprises worth the wait. Related to that, I was listening while awaiting at my door for a parcel requiring my signature, but I happened to look as you raked your finger across the instrument select buttons. Caught me off-guard, haha.
Yeah, I've got to remember to mute the microphone when recording a live jam - I sometimes forget and the result is some extra Foley sounds over the top of the electronics 😆
Very interesting sounds. I’m liking the way the kick is very warm and a softer feel. Gives a mellow bed for the sound experimentation above… Stirling job there Mike 👍💯🙏

love the buildup thru 1:50 and the sudden drop 👏 the adventure keeps getting better from there, dig that sequence that gets turned up around 4:40 and then distorted 🔥 cool spacey vibes, always impressed by the range of sounds you make and the mixing variety 💪

This is awesome! I use my EDGE in almost every jam but I really don't play with the patch bay enough...
Took me a few months to find the interest in the patch bay, and I am more comfortable going unmatched when improvising live. Would be fun to try live patching, but I'm not confident enough for that yet 😆✨🪐

Three craft, flying through space, flying through atmosphere, over water, land, through a metropolis, over a field, wheels down landing on a freeway, speeding through a smaller district with less traffic and narrower streets and more overpasses and ramps, to reach the rendezvous point at a park they are arriving at.

Thanks - that was a great question! I hadn't even thought about shuffle until you asked. By sending triggers from the TR8S to the Edge's clock-advance I was able to get the Edge to play a shuffle groove. Nice one! ✨🪐
