Those fish are stocked they don't fin clip coho. Coho have to stay in the river for a year before heading out to the big lk. That river gets to warm for that.. lk Superior has wild coho not lk Michigan

Tried this for salmon o rama on the WI side, fishing was hard due to the amount of pressure, but it sure was peaceful and something I'd love to do more often. I'm so jealous of how clean the michigan side is. Beautiful editing and series, watched it beginning to end.

Are we sure that first fish wasn’t a giant splake? The tail was more squared, the fins had some red and a fin was clipped so it was stocked. Just wondering.

Good stuff. I studied the various knot TH-cams and I recall the knot called a figure 8 knot is stronger than an overhand loop knot and it's just as easy to tie. With 50-pound test I'm confident it really doesn't matter but it's something to consider. I don't have a salmon background, so I was curious about the tournament hook rig. It seems to me the single hook should be at the back. That way if the fish strikes short he's apt to be on the single hook. If he misses, he's apt to come back because he wasn't hooked to scare him away....maybe. If the fish strikes short and gets on the treble hook of a standard tournament rig the short strike could mean a poor hook up and an escaped fish. If the fish strikes aggressively the treble can hold it long enough for its thrashing to embed the single hook, if the single hook isn't already embedded. Just a thought. Thanks again.

100% agree with you on lake trout meat. The gobies have helped. Over here on Huron they seem to have helped the overall forage base also.
