You can't make a global style like that without scripting. I think you're saying, every instance of a font at 10 pts automatically turns red? You can do this via Paragraph Styles, however.

Oh! Really? Is it "PAH-geen-ah", then? I took spanish class in high school, so I tend to use a spanish pronunciation for such words. Thanks for the correction.

@@beckysgraphicdesign no problem at all! I can only say that in Italian and spanish the pronounciation should be "pàgina" with the accent on the first "a". This is very much like when, a few centuries ago, ‘Allegro’ and ‘Mosso’ were written on the sheet music in Italian whatever the composer's linguistic origin. Traces of this can also be found in InDesign when ‘Italic’ is written in italic 😀

Are you saying you want to do something like MailMerge in Microsoft Word? I have often wished for a "counter" in InDesign, but the only good way to do it is with numbered lists.

Oh, like for printing a booklet with "out of order" printed pages due to physical page order. I haven't experimented with that in InDesign.

Yes, if you combine all of your .indd documents into a book (.indb) file, you can set the footnotes to "Continuous" rather than "Starts at 1." You might not SEE those changes take place until you do a PDF export, however.

​@@beckysgraphicdesign I did, but it's not working, each chapter starts numbering from footnote 1, maybe there is a script for that, but I couldn't find it online either.

1. Upload PDF file into Kindle Create software 2. Choose either Print Replica or Comic Book 3. Export file (it will create a .kpf file) 4. Upload .kpf to KDP (where you would normally upload an .epub file)

No such thing as interactivity like checkboxes in any kind of eBook. The only kind of "interactivity" we can get is hyperlinks. If you're trying to make a shape with a hyperlink, that is not possible in a print replica, but can be made to work in a fixed format .ePub.

Re: make a shape w/ hyperlink - that would be for some platform other than KDP/Print Replica, Print Replica requires PDF not epub, right? Is there another platform that might work for a fixed layout epub w/ interactivity? [Do you know - where can ebook project/similar w/ID-created buttons be used reliably? I can't get the buttons to work except in Adobe Digital Editions or Acrobat. Buttons don't seem to work in any app on iPhone or (newest) iPad - not even in ID Publish Online (don't have Android devices to check with, haven't checked on PC). Everything works great in the ID Interactivity Preview.]

Yeah, PDF (as viewed in a PDF-viewer) are much more capable than other formats. Print Replicas can ONLY maintain text-based hyperlinks. As far as animated clickable/roll-over stuff goes, the closest you might get (in a reflowable ePub, anyway) is to use Endnotes/Footnotes. In the ePub Export Settings, there's a way to make Endnotes appear as a pop-up, and it works well. I have never tried to use that feature in a fixed-format, so I can't vouch for it, but it's POSSIBLE that you could hi-jack that functionality for other uses.

So, what exactly are you trying to do? Start certain paragraph styles on a new page? Use Keep Options>Start Paragraph>On Next Page OR On Next Odd Page, if you're wanting to do standard book settings.

Double-check that you have the correct document selected as the "style source." In your .indb file, there's a little symbol next to one of the .indd documents in the list. Whichever one has the symbol is the "source," and all the others pull their styles from it. So, make sure that you have said Paragraph Styles in the source document, and everything should be fine.

Are your hyperlinks added to an image or a string of text? Make sure that the hyperlink is not wrapped (meaning, it's all on one line) and that the WHOLE URL is there, not a shortened version. Lastly, check your export settings to make sure that Interactive Elements are enabled.

Correct-if your book requires "synthetic spreads," the only way to do that with Kindle Create is with Comic Book mode, OR by generating a fixed-format .epub file.
