Nonsense he’d have heard about Yeats

Like you guys when I first had heard this record it was like listening something completely new from scratch, like something you never heard off. I wish I had discover him before he died. Anyway I though this beautiful record deserved to be out there for more people to listen the beauty of it.

Have been listening to this on a loop for several hours, it's full of emotional hooks and unfathomable moments which stop it just being 'ambient' (in the sense that ambient means forming part of the background). Wish I'd got into Jeck while he was still alive.

My favorite Coil LP since buying the CD in 1993 at Eide's in downtown Pittsburgh. Played this at a number of Acid parties I used to host/attend as a teenager back then. So friggin beautiful. I truly feel this eclectic mix of sonic journeys is Coil's (underrated) masterpiece. -Who'll Fall is my favorite Coil track. Absolutely the most haunting song I've ever heard.

This scene perfectly illustrates the fact that, for all his deathless brilliance, Ian Curtis was nowhere near as cool or mature a his public image suggested.

W B Yeats was never signed to Factory Records.

The funniest part of this scene is the Ian character rejecting Tony's claim about W. B. Yeats being the greatest poet since Dante. Yeats was/is often regarded as one of the greatest English-language poets, and the fact that Ian's character says, "Never heard of him, mate...I would have heard of him, Tony!" is just hysterically funny. The real Ian was very well read and I wager would have known Yeats.

I heard somewhere that Sleazy circuit bent a Wasp for William Bennett.

Ian was said to be ‘one of the lads’ who loved a good laugh. He was skilled at masking his pain and only gave clues through his lyrics which his bandmates only noticed after he passed. Also this movie sensationalized his passing. All that said, as a huge Joy Division fan, it’s an interesting movie.

'he's a liar' this is actually realistic for youth. In this case Bowie sings about dying young but he doesn't technically practice what he preaches. Youth are obsessed with assumed hypocrisy. Its a cardinal sin in their view. Maybe because they're not yet able to read between the lines.

That first song is so strange...

The actings good and everything but its a bad portrayal. They had a big laugh all the time in the van or rehearsals it was alway good vibes its been said by the other band mates and Ian curtis loved Bowie and knew who Yeats was cause Ian was very well read and loved reading books by some of the most incredible writers which is proven in a lot of his lyrics. Here they make him out to be a depressed idiot in this scene. And it just simply was not true.
