Tina, you're welcome and, first of all, I'm so sorry about your mom. I've been there. I hope she's beating it and on her way to healing. I felt the same way when I went through the big shed and it's actually good news. That means it's working on you and 3 weeks in is early for results, so you're off to a good start! The shed is no fun, especially when you're thin already. I got through it by filling in my hairline and part with my cream contour, which made it tolerable. If the weight gain is really recent and from the med, it's likely water weight and will eventually go down. With Covid and the stress of your mom and failed lasek, that's hair loss that should come back within a year-ish as your body recovers. Keep taking good quality of vitamins and keep an eye on your levels. At almost 51, you may be in peri menopause and some of the hair loss could be due to that and hormone changes, which is a longer term issue. Since you're shedding like crazy since starting the Minoxidil, it's already working and that's very good news! The waiting and shedding is hard, but it's worth it! 💕

You're welcome! I have been taking Minoxidil 7 1/2 months today and just over 5 months as of this video. Yes, it can take up to 6-12 months, but luckily mine was faster and, hopefully, yours will be, too. The 1st month I didn't notice anything and worried it wasn't working. The 2nd and 3rd months, I had lots of shedding and was panicking! By the end of the 4th month, I was noticing the major shed stopped and I had all kinds of baby hairs at my hairline. My part has thickened, too. A major improvement. Not all the hair I had in my 30s and before, but definitely a win. It's been great for me and I hope it is for you, too! 💕

Diana, now that you mention it, I've not seen a lot of grey options in the ones I've checked out. I'll keep my eye out! :) I only review things I love, so if I find one worthwhile, I'll do a video on it!

That’s a good idea and I’ve also found that filling in a little with cream contour helps fill in at my hairline. It got me through the shedding phase! I also wear cute silk scarves sometimes to mix things up. Praying for great results for you! 💕🙏💕🙏

Catherine, I'm so sorry you have to go through that. Prayers that they found it early and you don't have to have much taken out. It's so important to spread awareness about getting checked. The teens I know don't seem to be any more informed than we were as kids and people don't take skin cancer seriously until it happens to them. Sandi, it's a tough journey and my heart goes out to you. People discount what an emotional thing it is to women, in particular. There are lots of little tips and tricks and it will take time, definitely, but you can absolutely still feel beautiful in alternative hair. They've come such a long way in recent years! You're probably the only one who will know. People get contacts and braces and hair extensions and all the things to fix what they feel uncomfortable about and alternative hair should be looked at the same way. Give yourself time, play with it, wear it around the house for awhile, and then realize that you are beautiful and you deserve to feel it! 💕

Sarah, you just have to play with it to see what makes you feel your best and most beautiful, and natural. It's a tough journey with a lot of emotions, so you have to find the little tricks that help you feel comfortable and confident and like yourself because that's what it's all about :)

That's great news that you're experiencing the shedding because it means your body is responding well and that it's working on you. It's a terrifying phase. I got through it by using my dark dark cream contour to fill in my roots. Within a few months, I started getting those baby hairs and felt like I could breathe again. I wish we could regain it all back, but improvement is better than nothing. Hang in there, it gets better, and good luck!

I went through the dread shed myself,started minoxidil 5% mousse while I had covid 😂 the shed is more than normal but not so bad,and after a few weeks,it's calmed down and is now negligible,so hopefully I'll grow some hair back now! Alopecia sucks! 😂

Yes, I love bobs! Wore them for years and they really do make the length feel thicker. I needed a change after so long and have it a bit longer, now, for a little while. My big problem now is that I'm thinning so much on top. Nothing helps that, so I'm rolling with it for now. Thanks for watching and sharing that the bob works so well for you! They're so cute!

Agreed, fine hair is about texture and though I used to have a lot of it, it was never thick. You’re a very lucky one! I’ve not known or seen anyone who has fine yet thick hair. They usually go hand-in-hand together. Lucky girl!

Hi, Lillian! I have not had them hurt when I wear them. When I'm putting them on, I'll re-adjust them in the beginning if it's not feeling totally right and comfortable. The Uniwigs clips are very comfortable. Unless you've had bad clips on other brands, I assume it has to either be not enough hair right there so it's putting a lot of strain on the thin hairs or that the clips are dug in too tight. You may want to go down and grab some hair from lower, more down the sides if maybe the hair you have on top is too thin to hold it well. Also, if you wanted extra stability without feeling like you need to dig them in too tight or too deep, maybe try a soft wig grip headband under. Hope those things help, Lillian. I speed it up for you guys so my videos don't take forever! 😄 I'm going to slow them down a bit in the future, but an easy fix for you if it's hard to follow this one is to click on the gear icon ⚙ on the bottom right of my video. There, you can choose the Playback Speed that you want it to be. You can slow videos down to 1/4 speed and speed them up to double speed. It's super handy.
