Labour deliberately avoided any mention of disabled people during the election, despite pressure from disability organisations to lay out their plans. But there was no response from labour whatsoever. However during the election they did promise to leave pensioners alone and not to take anymore money from the poorest in society. Within a couple of weeks since they won the election, we can all see this was untrue. Already they have taken pensioners winter heating allowance and they have scrapped the tory cap on care fees. Im pretty astonished. They are hitting the poorest in society, again. Im not even a pensioner and im angry.

Such a shame there was negative feedback on the Green Paper. Vouchers instead of cash would bring massive improvement to claimants, in the same way as giving them ashtrays for their motorbikes or a patio on a submarine roof. The only way I see vouchers as being helpful is if they were extra on top of the full cash benefits and if they allowed us to get an extra Electric Vehicle (EV) which are super cool. It would be great to have one in a different colour, or just as a 'spare'. I really like EVs - any chance you could do more EV themed vids, please Rich? 👍😉🚗

So many reasons 😪 to give up on life...on a tiny thin string. 😢

Online the other day, couldn't get to talk to a real person, just a chat bot - went round in circles for ages. So i had to phone up, and the menus galore for "press 1" etc was a nightmare. I did EVENTUALLY get a real person but it took ages. So, my question is, where are all these miraculous jobs coming from, when so much is being replaced by AI/automated already? More and more automated phone lines and chat bots instead of immediate real people. I used to wear a lot of hats in my job - secretarial, receptionist greeting real people, answering 3 phone lines ringing in, typing (more involved than just copy typing or audio typing, required initiative), and other miscellaneous things. Some firms had one person just to man reception, and then the secretaries were away from the general public, so that's a separate job. But now, you get an automated "Press 1 for..." blah blah on the phone, and internet chat bots rather than actual real offices, banks, etc a lot of the time (banks closing galore!). It used to be a person, and that person obviously earned a wage and it was a JOB. Now, it's becoming harder to get hold of a real person and that must mean that jobs have been cut in the thousands at the very least. It's pie in the sky, having enough jobs for everybody, me thinks!

For the unfortunate/poor pensioners this is a hypothermia tax and in the budget in October they might hit the freedom passes and free prescriptions as well .The pensioners that voted labour must feel extremely sorry for what they have done

I live in Scotland & trust me when I say that we ain't getting treated any different from you guys down south.. we are fighting to keep our ADP(PIP) as hard as you guys

Give the politicians vouchers for the expenses they log up

I’m scared to death the local authorities trying to take my pip towards my care and I have so many disability expenses they won’t consider it’s insane because they say the nhs should provide and they don’t also I want to work but can’t and I’m so scared for my future I can’t think I’ve had a constant 10 year battle for care, benefits and nhs treatment and it’s still going on!!!! I can’t take anymore. I have multiple chronic illnesses all incurable a J feeding tube into my bowel and reliant on that for all feeds, fluids & 52 doses of medications a day down my tube. Fed 24 hrs a day/feed & fluids, I have a draining G tube on constant drainage (stomach), I have a Suprapubic catheter (SPC) and have to do bowel irrigation daily I have adult social care care team in 3 times a day for 10 hours a day I have 5 paralysed organs and had 57 surgeries in 12 years I am wheelchair dependent for ambulatory reasons (pain, joint issues, weakness & severe fatigue) and I got turned down zero points on everything and had to appeal back in 2020. I only got awarded until end of this year and I’ve been to sick to work 12 years and I’ve had to constantly fight the system. It’s unfair and unjust. This is all utterly exhausting I just came out of my local hospital where I was inpatient for 8 months on TPN and during that time was also blue lighted to JRH Oxford and had line sepsis and emergency surgery Feb 2024.. it’s utterly soul destroying. They stopped my pip after being In Hospital 28 days had no pip for 9 months bills don’t stop rent doesn’t stop. Came out to loads of arrears I’m struggling to pay now I’m so tired and to cap it all fighting the council on care review trying to cut my care and trying to take half my pip towards it! I’m utterly broken I have autism and adhd I also have Ehlers Danlos syndrome, ME/cfs, Autonomic neuropathy, pots, Fibromyalgia, and 5 paralysed organs whole GI tract and others are experiencing the same it’s wrong.

What a horrible thing to do hit the most vulnerable.

I knew the vouchers wouldn't happen. But we all know how honest politicians are. They will probably blindside us with them after all, but it's not worth worrying about maybes, and we should cross that bridge should we come to it.

I had a double heart bypass in 2001 heart failure 2004 have hearing loss 2 hearing aids and i was found fit for work even though my doctor said otherwise i failed 3 tribunals even with all the evidence from hospital and GPs that was ftom 2001/2019 i got pip in 2020 due to having severe arthritis in my hips

Another fuck up by dumb ass beaver licker, theres a woman near us, she lost both legs from diabetes, dwp want to take her pip from her, the dwps job is to help us not treat us like jews in Germany.

Just read that DNS are starting a crowdfunding to raise money to buy a book about the deaths caused by the DWP fir every labour MP so they cannot claim ignorance if deaths continue due to their policies. Not fact checked but I think it’s a legitimate site .

Would a voucher scheme benefit everyone? Instead of £100, having a voucher from, for example, Tesco, could save the DWP millions of pounds. These vouchers could be purchased at a trade rate by the DWP, rather than by you as a PIP recipient going to the supermarket as a retail customer.

The Scottish government may have to fall in line with the Westminster government, The minister for social security in Scotland has already said that they may have to implement the winter fuel payment cut here. The reason is the consequentels, the grant given to Scotland will deduct any planned changes by labour to the new Adult Disability Payment to match PIP. Since Scotland is on a fixed grant and can not borrow, it may impact us here in Scotland

I hope the respectful comment was meant for me 😂. It sounds hope is on the horizon and a lot of worry and stress about it could be over, not to say that certain. I have my review from back which was confirmed by the DWP text and my special delivery confirmation. I hope they do get bored reading through the endless amount of paperwork I have sent and there is nothing to worry about but who knows, it might be given to someone who is having a bad day. Given that the Government has just shafted pensioners, on very modest incomes and who don't receive Pension Credit, which means they won't receive the Winter Fuel Allowance, don't trust anything Labour says.

I filled in the Green Paper and didn't hold back. Its was an I see you and I see what your trying to do and it will not help. I pointed out the truths of the matter and I also pointed out that we see the new regimes allegiance to the rich - victimization of the poor and disabled and I they could see from my answers I'm no shrinking violet. We have a community and if necessary we will have to form a united front on defending the rights of those who through no fault of their own be unable to work anymore. I hope we do have a positive effect xx

Why should people work. If you do they tax to oblivion and then cut your pension and take away your winter fuel allowance. If you don’t work you get Pension Credit and everything handed to you on a plate.

They should take a more compassionate approach and scrap the proposals and the stupid costly assessments and just contact your GP and specials instead this approach will save more money.

I know someone with a severe lifelong disability. Their hospital consultant and their GP confirmed the disability was first diagnosed in childhood and incurable. They had to travel many miles outside their home in London to be reassessed, with an escort as they couldn't have travelled alone. Train fares, taxi fares and an appointment at 9am. The actual interview was not ideal and very humiliating. To top it all they objected to the escort taking notes. Why? Edited to add, it was a round trip of 130 miles (65 miles each way). I just rang them to check.

They couldn't possibly give lower or higher rates solely based on the medical condition. PIP is not based on medical condition, but HOW the condition affects daily living. One person could be mildly affected, and another severely affected by the same thing, and their need for help be completely different
