That was awesome. Nice job.
that's a cool cockpit! and a nice landing too :)
That's a winch and a half. And a half again! :)
And the FOs doing pretty good ...
Butter landing
Nice videos, If you don't mind me asking, Where do you guys get your type rating training and recurrent training?
There doesnt seem to be any formal hand over of control, which seems to happen quite a few times. ????? Other than that, a most enjoyable video.
@@starpawsy The FO is the pilot flying and at 0:50secs in the video the Capt takes over. “60kts, I have control”

Hello, if you have a chance, Could you share more failures from DASH-8? and maybe the 24 hrs tests? Please 😅

Good to see you got the kids to school safely. Nice approach into a very dark airport.
Very cool seeing this from the cockpit POV. I remember being lucky enough to be flown this approach on Jetstar one time as a passenger.

All business in that cockpit for takeoff which is good to see. I hate watching cockpit videos where there is distracting chit chat going on during critical phases. Nice job 👍

Great strip YATN
If I could give your FO a tip, put the armrests down, so that the elbows are well supported. It’s a lot easier to make delicate inputs and reduces PIO whilst hand flying especially in turbulence. Good practice for a jet where it’s a must.

@@jaxhoffalot2812 Sure did! When the QLD Govt operated it. It’s now been sold.
I worked at Cairns airport in the 70s when the biggest mob was Bush Pilot Airways fly DC3s
Interesting video, haven’t seen much Dash content let alone from Australia. Been ages since I was in Cairns but it’s a nice airport. Interesting they don’t give runway numbers with takeoff/landing clearances etc. as that seems to be the norm. I’ll have to get my licences finished so I can fly back up there myself one day!
@@nankervisj Glad you’re enjoying the channel. I find if there are multiple or parallel runways, ATC will always give the Runways number for takeoff, and Cairns only has one runway. There are also multiple other times the active runway is given, ie ATIS & Taxi clearance.
Is this one of the few restored Zero’s left? If so it goes on my Bucket List
@@robsiekmann2534 Static display only.
The MK2 my favourite plane ever
The ‘line up’ got changed to a ‘line up and wait’ because at first TWR didn’t think there was a delay, but they couldn’t quite issue the takeoff clearance, but then something on the crossing RWY caused a delay, so they changed it to ‘…and wait’.
@@ratsac Receiving a “Line Up” clearance implies that you need to wait for further instructions - ie Line up only. To say Line up a second time is not normal. Typically a controller would say something like “expect 1min delay due crossing traffic”
Yep agree it’s not normal. I think the controller was just correcting themselves in a non-standard way. You’ll also get a “….and wait” if you get given a line up with an assigned heading, but can’t quite be cleared for takeoff yet, regardless of whether the controller thinks there will be any delay.

Great video mate, It's cool hearing HWZ at the start as well, I did some of my CPL training in that 172
Hey guys love the videos any tips on someone being scared of heights flying i want to travel but terrified of being so high
Hi mate. I'm in training as a Hypnotherapist ATM. Hypnotherapy is an excellent way to deal with phobias and fears, with fear of flying being one of the very treatable conditions.
It’s strange but you don’t feel the height in a plane the way you do standing on a cliff or building. I’m not great with heights myself but I’ve always been alright flying. I’m not sure if that is any help to you but I hope you find a way to face it.
