Yosemite Half Dome During Covid 2020

www.amazon.com/dp/B08KT9P2NR When international travel stops, we look for local adventures! Limited by covid precautions, Yosemite National Park was nearly empty. So of course we got up at 1:30am and hiked until 9pm to experience the beauty of the valley from the top of Half Dome. It was an absolute blast!

Last September we adventured to South America to the BEAUTIFUL country of Peru. We drank coffee, hung out with Llamas and monkeys, wandered through ancient ruins, and drank more coffee. Take the journey with us!

And we are ok with it! We explored Krabi and Koh Samui with some friends for 11 days. The beautiful beaches, fantastic food, and awesome adventures made a memorable trip. If you haven't been, plan your next trip to Thailand and you won't regret it.

We didn't fly it in the restricted areas or in the Sagarmatha National Park. Our Guide was from a local village and showed us where we could/could not shoot drone footage. We were very careful to maintain safety and respect throughout our trek. :)

What were the drone rules while you were there?
Tourists cannot get drone permits, meaning that they used it illegally Quite infuriating considering how heavily trafficked the route is by helicopters, especially low flying ones.

EBC is a box-ticking exercise. You trek a few days along a path that used to be interesting/challenging... but now is so full of other tourists/sheep and every possible comfort is provided along the road. You know you've reached your destination when you see a rock with the words 'Everest Base Camp' sprayed on it. But this is merely the starting point for others and thus does not feel like a worthy goal. After that... you have to retrace your path, i.e the exact same scenery from the last few days just in reverse! ☹ I'm recently back from the Manaslu circuit... significantly tougher, and far more remote, but far more worth it. 👍

Thank you! We trekked for 12 days with 16 days total needed for the trek/travel. Kathmandu is 5,493 feet, Lukla (where we started the trek) is 9,383 feet, base camp is 17,598, and our highest elevation was 18,225. :)
