    James Rolfe: It's Cinemassacre's "Monster Madness"! "The Giant Claw" starts out like a typical 50's monster movie. It follows a pilot who sights an unidentified flying object. He tries to warn his superiors but no one believes him. Soon there are planes missing and a giant claw-mark. It builds tension fairly well. The acting is okay for this kind of genre. It's an overall decent movie until about 20 minutes in when you see the monster… (The monster is revealed) James: Unbelievable! Is that not the worst looking monster you've ever seen?! Supposedly Ray Harryhausen was considered to do the effects but the producers decided to cut the costs. A special effects studio in Mexico ended up doing it, but they must have been playing a joke. I can understand that they didn't have a lot of money - they had to make a cheap marionette. But did they have to give it big goofy eyes, flaring nostrils and a mohawk?! You can't make something this laughable by accident! There's a lot of fake miniatures and overuse of stock-footage. But sadly those are the more credible parts. In that first shot you're not even paying attention to how bad the plane looks - you're so overwhelmed by the bird. Even in the 50's this looked bad! The poster didn't even show the bird's head. But what makes it so funny is that the rest of the movie takes itself so seriously. None of the actors knew what the monster would look like - they just had to use their imagination. Supposedly Jeff Morrow went to see the premiere in his local town and as soon as the bird appeared the audience roared with laughter. Rumor has it he left the theater, embarrassed, went home and got drunk. And he did a good job with the role, but his efforts were all ruined because of that silly bird. It's funny that he seems to be the one who interacts with the bird the most. He's the first character to see it when it looks like a hairball being blown across the sky. But all through the movie he has so many encounters with it, it makes you think this guy really has a thing for giant birds. He's also the first character to coin the term 'flying battleship'. That's how he first describes the bird - a saying that really catches on. Mitch MacAfee: … a battleship, not that it was a battleship. Narrator: Something as big as a battleship. Man over radio: … like we're hitting a battleship with a slingshot. Narrator: A bird as big as a battleship. General Van Buskirk: A bird as big as a battleship… Sally: A flying battleship. Sally: Flying battleship. Mitch: Flying battleship. Police Officer: Flying battleship. Sally: Flying battleship. Sally: Flying battleship. James (as he compares the bird to a naval battleship): All through the movie everyone, including the narrator, constantly refer to this thing as a battleship. I can understand if they compared the bird to a jumbo jet or something that actually flies, but why a battleship?! But there's more; the bird is extraterrestrial - that's right. But how it got to Earth is what I wanna know. The thought of that thing flapping its way through space makes me wanna piss myself. It's also supposed to have an antimatter shield. Now it's just getting absurd… And it follows a pattern, check this out. Mitch (as he draws markings on a map): Our plane appears… and finally… the navy patrol plane. Well, see it? Sally: Well, no. Mitch (as he draws a spiraled line connecting the markings): A pattern… James: Okay, that bird really has a strange agenda if instead of taking the most direct path it just spirals out… How would you even see a spiral on that?! Why didn't he just draw a straight line?! So we have a goofy-looking bird that comes down from space, in an antimatter shield, flying in a spiral - it's pure genius. That's why this is one of the worst movies ever made. Of course the Giant Claw made it on my 'Top 10 Giant Movie Monsters'-video, coming in at number 1. If I could own one prop from any movie I wanna have the Giant Claw puppet. Does that thing still exist? I wanna know. I would gladly buy it so I can hang it from the ceiling in my living room. At least I'd like to see it person or just see a picture of it today. I wonder what the scale of it is, I really do. Please, somebody tell me! Where is the Giant Claw?!

    I got ripped by a Wish Proto Pipe knock-off. Garbage. Looks the same as that one. The picture showed a real one… but what I got was garbage. The finish was uneven and peeling when new… without a cleaning chamber on the bottom. The stash tube was screw-in… Found one at a local shop that isn’t a REAL Proto, it’s a faux proteaux… but it works very well.

    There also used to be a spoon type of pipe that used various threaded pieces. I think it was made of stainless steel. There was even a version of the bowl that had a thread at the top where you could screw a metal cover onto which had a small pinhole so you could suck a flame through it, while still using it to keep a packed (or half spent) bowl in your pocket. Another screw on piece turned the stem into a resonating chamber where you could stuff a gram or two of bud into and then every time you take a hit the smoke passes over the bud and coats it in sticky goo.

    • @loveandnapalm
      @loveandnapalm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PhilLesh69 They're just called chamber pipes, named for the chamber in the middle. First time I got busted was with one. They're kind of stupid when you remove the stoner logic though - most of what you're "filtering" off into the stashed bud is just tar and plant fat since the active alkaloids and terpenes vaporize at lower temps, so its kinda just making it less healthy rather than more potent.

    th-cam.com/video/GZoJ00aO0a4/w-d-xo.html They are back in business, with both the original owners and they still make these to this day! Mine is literally going to come in the mail later today and I’m very excited as last time I had one was when I was 16 and I am 38 now . They did stop during the pandemic for obvious reasons. But I will let you know since your video is three years old, they are back in business in this video is one year old. It’s pretty interesting to say the least to watch this, but the cool thing? When I called the company with her telephone number provided on the website, a human being actually answered the phone! 😂 There was no digital anything, also? I am a combat war veteran, and they actually gave me a veterans discount on the classic pipe. I’ve been waiting 2 1/2 to 3 months, and I asked the lady why it took so long for real. She told me that at that time there were 10 employees and only a few to work on the pipes at a time because they are handmade with machinery, obviously, but handmade. She was extremely cordial, and that’s why it takes so long to get a real one right now because this is the video that shows you pretty much a little bit of the history and how they are made. I don’t know if you have seen this yet, but? This is from a year ago, and they are back in business happily. If anyone has an order one of these yet? I would get on it right now, it’s only gonna be a matter of time before they stop, and I believe they started in 1970 or so.

    The protopipe is a good pipe to own. I used to own one years ago. Though, there were problems with it such as: the poker would either break easily when trying to use it properly for certain cleaning tasks or the poker would get lost easily. It was also a pain in the butt to clean the tight areas that are in the proto pipe.. I like the proto pipe still though, as the pros outweigh the cons. I bought mine at about $45, now it is about twice the price, YIKES! for one. I might get an official protopipe again in the future, but for now the protopipe clones are cheaper thus they will do until I get an official protopipoe.

A human being answered the phone and if you were ever in the service they give you a veterans discount. So I would order one now, as they’ve been swamped with orders. I had one when I was 16 and I am 38, so to include this one? I probably only seen four of them and they are definitely worth it made the same way they were back in the day. It just takes a long time to get it because they are handmade still and like I said they only have 10 employees.

    It's an equivalent to that many watts it never claim to be that many watts haven't you bought a LED light bulb for your house at the store? They always say what they are equivalent to but never claim to be that many so that means an LED that pulls 15 20 watts can do with a 60 watt light bulb can do do you get it? The LED can do the same with less draw it's really not difficult to understand
