    I wonder about the torque convertor lockup kit and manually setting it in 1st gear if it will help with the downhill speeds. I understand it wont have the same level of engine braking but still wondering if it will help.

      It could make a difference but we would have to import a lock up kit ,not sure what it would cost , I know om the pre facelift hiluxes there were guys bringing in the kits and they also made a big difference in power delivery after tuning , since the converter pulls power when it starts slipping

      What’s happening exactly is that on the dyno the car runs well then suddenly has a dip on the dyno graph, struggling with that at the moment. Tried everything, reseting it today to factory then test what’s what if all fails we want to drop the tank and see if it’s dirty

This is just my opinion but if he is blowing Gturbos then there is definately something wrong with the tune or he did not do the supporting mods

    Install a gturbo G300-gd and a snorkel on the 2.8 to even the odds against the already kitted v8. That would be very interesting 🤔

    • @maplotter684

      So the problem with the 2.8 is the new charge cooler which is limiting the gains with a gturbo at the moment ,so it just is not worth the money, but we are going to do a hybrid which would give the same amount of gains compared to a g300 and then we will do another vid

      @@Chucky-l1p once the guys have sorted out the cooling on the motor then we can look at getting some impressive gains like with a g300 but because of the limitations at the moment the hybrid is more bang for buck, but there are 2.8 motors making above 260kw and 800nm ,which would be awesome in the cruiser

    For all intents and purposes the 2.8 is actually not bad considering the cost etc. it's only at +- 150km that you see the difference from what I see.

    • @maplotter684
      @maplotter684 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LukeMitchley the 2.8 is really impressive , the auto box does make a big difference and then the v8 is also on a verry safe tune , so it only gets max boost from 4th gear , so basically it starts to pull on the 2.8 from about 100kph and up , but before that the 2.8 beats it through the gears

      The 2.8 is an auto and the v8 is a manual ,so to compensate for the kick down the v8 was left in gear at a bit lower rpm so it also needed a little time for boost but when both pull at full throttle the gap grows gradually which is why he said roughly the same
