Wine Barrel - Recondition & Toast
มุมมอง 45K7 ปีที่แล้ว
For the home winemaker to recondition and toast a used wine barrel.
Definitely bar keepers friend
I prefer upside down bar keepers friend
Its okay Mr. Krabs we know its really you
You found me out
Great video Tony. I always wondered the difficulty in refurbing a barrel and you made it look like something I could do. I have a barrel set aside for some wine I'm making and if her insides look poor, I now know what to do...
Tony, I just revisited your video to brush up and remind me of barrel restoration. Over the past 4 years, I've redone 6 barrels of various sizes. I'm about to redo a 30 gallon French oak. Thanks, again!
That is one of the nicest comments I’ve ever received. Thank you so much for letting me know that! You are truly the boss !!! I’m interested in what tricks you have learned by doing so many. Anything that you could add to my method? Thanks again again for your note
Just watched a bunch of Solo Stove cleaning videos and yours is the best, wish it had be 1st in the results, not 7th.
Wow, thanks! As very nice of you to say.
I saw this when you first posted and am only now getting around to building one. I’ve made a solo stove table out of 1 x 4s and it’s worked so far without any damage from heat. But this is much nicer. My plan is to make four legs out of 2 x 2 steel square stock welded together, and powder coated. I’m also hoping to bury the bolts into the cement before it hardens….
I wanted to do 2 x 2 steel legs, but I don’t have the skills. Let us know how it turns out.
HOw well has this held up in the long run? We just one a Yukon Solo Stove in a raffle, and I want to landscape an area for it/ build or buy a surround for it also. Yours looks to be fairly straight forward and simple design.
I had one crack which I fixed and blended in the concrete dye. Table is still going strong
Can I do this project with a friend or do I have to do it Solo? Do I have to use Heavy Metal polish or is there a Kenny G polish I could try? Also, I prefer to not grind from an angle as I have hip issues. Is the angle necessary? Thanks in advance.
That was awesome!!!!!! How about something about barkeepers friend. You could be all over that one. Barkeepers acquaintance…. Nice work
Did it only take two of you to flip it and put it in place on the patio? 🤣 I'm in an eternal search for how to make a light weight concrete so I can make projects like THIS!
It only took 2 of us but I take large amounts of anabolic steroids. I made a different version of a fire pit table that anyone can lift. I’ll put together some pictures and send it to you
@@tonycampanella4597 that would be awesome, thanks!
Looks fantastic! How much does that table weigh?
Heavy - maybe 150
Anyway to get extra range with enclosed antenna mounted closer to door inside or a different antenna?? Thanks
You can install the antenna anywhere in the house that you want. Or outside.
With 811LMX remotes I tap button to open. To stop door while moving have to hold button for 1 sec. Assume normal versus very old remotes???
I used one to control a ghost controls gate. It behaves as a push button which is actually just closing a circuit just like a relay. You will see 2 channels marked no for normally open, which is what my gate wants, and one channel is nc for normally closed. It's just a relay to trigger a monitored circuit in your device. Or do anything else you can do with a low current relay (like trigger a high current relay). In other words, you don't need to match voltage on your device, it's presumably looking for a dumb momentary switch on the wall.
Just trying to get my ash out, not put it into a beauty pageant but thanks
This sucks
Nice job!!!
Amazing! Looks great
Hahahaahahahahahahaahahahajahahahh😂😂😂😂
Great video, what did you use to hold the landscape edging in place? The parts you screwed down?
I think it was ¾” screws.
@@tonycampanella4597 not the screws😆🤣😂 What were the clips you were screwing down?
Oh, they were part of the landscape edging. I think on the seam, I put a block.
This is extremely helpful! The stuff you recommended worked perfectly. Thank you!
what size for legs you use?
Sorry just saw this - the legs are 2 x 2 poplar. The height of the legs are 16 inches
I just bought a brush kit and use Bar Keeper's Friend on kitchen and bathroom surfaces all the time. Now I know it's safe to combine the two on my Bonfire. Thanks for the video.
Try your shop vac instead
Where did you buy the brush?
A small online bookstore called Amazon.com. Just search for Drill Brush and you’ll see lots of options.
@@tonycampanella4597online bookstore huh
great work!
Just got one of these solo stoves for Christmas and I plan on following this video when it comes time to clean it up. Thanks for the video!
Great work! Thoughts on tightening the gap between the stove and the concrete? Why'd you leave that gap? Think it's too heavy for a deck?
I wanted to be able to easily grab the stove to empty the ashes.
Tony, just did your steps today on a 4yo Yukon Solo. Never been deep cleaned. Amazing how well it turned out. Mine looked similar to yours and now outside is brand new. It burns so well now and the steps are pretty easy if you take your time and do small sections. Sharing with all my Solo mates.
Thanks for the note!!!
Hi, what is remote number ?
Not sure what you mean. I think any remote that has Security 2.0 will work.
I have a ramset 50gb opener.I've been having problems opening/closing the gate.I have to almost get out of my car point the remote where the antenna is,I probably get within 6ft. and the gate opens....it really sucks. What I need is to be able to open the gate from at least 70-100 feet away.I hope this works for me.
I believe it will
I am purchasing the materials to make this. How many bags of the fiberglass strands did you use?
1 pound
@@tonycampanella4597 Thank you! :)
Why would you clean the inside?
2 reasons. 1. This was during one of the lockdowns, so why not clean a fire pit. 2. There was so much stuff in there, I was thinking that the cleaner it is, the cleaner the chamber between the inner and outer wall where the secondary burn happens. Probably not necessary but it’s always fun the clean dirty stuff.
Looks terrific!
Need a little advice even after watching the michael builds video. Do you spray/saturate the top w water for an hour? I missed that step and table was cracked in 8 big chunks. I also didn't see any videos where he used the fiber glass so I tried without it but will retry with it. Good thing mold is reusable.
Yes, very important to keep the concrete cool while it’s curing. You probably noticed your concrete be super hot
2 questions - why use mortar mix vs concrete? Did you use the same 4 foot diameter for the yukon and make the middle bigger? Not finding stock pieces larger than 4X8
Barry - exactly- can’t go more than 4 feet because of the plywood base. It works out fine anyway. Did one for my friend that has a Yukon. Looks great. In terms of concrete- I think going 5000 psi would be great also. Keep the mix on the dryer side. I follow “Michael’s Builds” and went with what he goes with. Good luck
Love this table! My husband and I will be making it next weekend. How tall are your legs? Thanks!
Thanks for this video! Amazing shoulder work!
Thanks for posting - great shoulder work!
Great build. Roughly how much did the table weigh?
It’s heavy. 150ish
Tony, excellent video! Thank you for a great visual explanation! Good Luck!!
Man! Nice work!
thank you
Love it. Ive just bought a 'Bonfire'. Very succint description and love the dry slightly sarcastic humour. You should teach. :)
I love the math 😂
Awesome table 👍🏾
Thanks for sharing good info. We are going to do this to our solo stoves. We have a ranger and bonfire. New subscriber here. Check out our channel. Thanks.
I like the colors on the sides. I had someone in my group melted their sandal on the outside
Mine has a little skin from the back of one of my fingers on it...
With a new reflect out for the stove, will the horizontal heat wreck your finish?
Hi Tony, I’m working on a new Cleaning TV Series for Ricochet TV Production Company (the makers behind The Repair Shop on BBC One) & we’d potentially like to feature this Video. What is the best way to contact you please?
Hi Leah - don’t think I can post my cell number here. Email is tcampanella67@gmail.com. Send me an email and I’ll forward my cell.
