The Imperial Band is really good to go listen after 9:00 at the Plaza. You can call for the golf carts and pick them up at the front of your building and at a couple spots near the check in. The are everywhere so you don't have to walk far.

We just stayed at Maroma and very much enjoyed our time. Our favorite is still Secrets Akumal. If you have not visited, do so, as we find the staff, food, amenities and overall service to be the best. Thank you for sharing!

Do you know how much the massages were?

I applied for a new passport as my old one had expired in 12/2023 AND had been chewed by my puppy. I paid for expedited services on Monday Feb 12th 2024. It is now Sunday Feb 18th 2024 and there is no updates on my passport on the .gov website. Do you know how long it takes to get when you pay expedited?? I need it for work and I start my job once my passport arrives.

You didn't mention the surprisingly extensive library also on deck 3. Books can be borrowed and returned while on board, which is a good thing because the wi-fi is awful!

Used to live in Florida but I have to give the beaches to Hawaii. The beautiful terrain with mountains and white, gold, green and black sand beaches. Oahu is not the only island. There 8 islands with different climate and terrain and scenery. If you can save some monies, go to Hawaii. Florida is just flat and too hot and humid. The foods in Hawaii is way diverse and many good good farm to table. Sorry, all my family live in Florida but I a for Hawaii. If you went to Hawaii once, you will always want to come back. It is addictive. Florida…it is okay.

I see very good reviews of this resort but from the videos I've seen it looks like you don't see the ocean from the pools or anywhere other than maybe the one restaurant by the beach. Is that the case? Also do they have name brand/premium liquors there?

You can get by for a long time with what we call “from the skin out” then outer layers for cold, wind, or rain.

Regarding your passport, you cannot go on an Alaskan cruise without being in Canada at least once unless you are beginning or ending in some other country such as on a repositioning cruise. Foreign flagged cruise ships (which includes all the major cruise ships sailing in Alaska) are required to make a stop in a foreign port before returning to a US port.

After cruising to Alaska a few times we ditch the thermals and swimsuits. Umbrellas are useless. We never use them. Waterproof backpack and a raincoat is a must have though.

After sailing to Alaska many, many times, I ditched the thermal underwear. It was too difficult to copletely undress to get them off when the weather suddenly turned warm. Instead, I opted for warm vests to coordinate with my outfits to layer. They are muc easier to remove if the weather turns warm suddenly. You can wear them over a shirt and under a jacket or coat!

I always include blister patches in my first aid kit. Blisters can ruin your fun - lol.
