What It's Like To Be BRITISH Living In ZIMBABWE
Thank you for this. I was born here and am back after many years. I'll say hi next time!
I'm from Victoria Falls, Currently living in Namibia. I miss the wilderness more especially the majestic Vic Falls in winter
I am sorry to hear that, I hope you heal fully and get someone who will truelly love you.
The word Cinque in this context is not pronounced as in French but as SINK. Honest.
Being ex rhodesian the questions ask are from people that have no idea of what it was like. Just have a look at what Bulawayo look like before the 1980 and new. Salisbury club has now become a house of pleasur!. The country was the grain hub of Africa today it has to import grain?. I ewould ask only one question WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO WANTS GREAT COUNTRY
An amazing country, full of incredible people, run by some very greedy people who ruin it for the rest
I think I am in a good position to talk about Deal as I was born here and have come back to live here and not by choice. It's a dump and is not Whitstable. It's not that nice. The town centre is great for the Georgian Houses mainly owned by wealthy Londoners but the town centre is dire and dying and has very poor shops compared to decades past when it had M and S and Original Factory Shop and independent department stores. Now it has Poundstretcher and Poundland in the old M and S and so many places to eat. The town centre is dying with many empty shops and banks and no retail park. Most of us living in Deal have to shop out of Deal because it is so bad and work out of Deal as well. It's an old person's town and increasingly dumped from London town and asylum seeker town. I would not recommend Deal to live. Awful place in my honest opinion and yes I intend to move out as soon as I possibly can.
This is sort of what I say in the video - it's changed to accomodate the new "locals", ie folks who come down from London on the weekend. Great for eating out, drinking, live music etc... but day to day shopping? Yeah, I agree.
Yeah Nah... Looks a Bit Shite
To each their own. Where are you from? I'm sure your town looks shite to outsiders too.
Deal looks beautiful. Its so terrible about locals being priced out of the town, totally NOT fair, this is where Mayors/councillors need to step in to help organise economics for local peoples. It can be done, people just need to decide to care about it, people in authority who over see the running of the town as a whole can step in to lead organising ways of running the town economically for local people and visiting people. I live in London teaching music and living is very expensive for us, everyone is being priced out of where they live in this country it has to change. I grew up in London this is my home. Something has to give we can’t all go on like this for ever. We pray daily to God for help and He helps us in every way. If it wasn’t for God through Jesus helping us and answering our prayers we definitely could not cope on a daily basis. We hope to be able to come visit Deal this summer…
It's cheap compared to Whitstable that really is expensive. But I love Whitstable far superior to Dire Deal.
Absolutely agree with everything you say here. However, money talks.
Wouaw !It's fantastic to read this video
Thank you
Yes had a holiday in Deal, many years ago, stayed in the kings head hotel. enjoyed it very much, but things have been spoilt, by over tourism and London prices, lived for twenty five years in Suffolk, things much the same, only an hour from London by train, London prices and over tourism at the week ends. Then moved to the North West, back home, yes cheap houses and low rent compared to London, but only because there is no work, Levelling up, never happened, believe me, so have a day out in the lake district, choc a bloc full of tourists, for some reason majority Chinese, mass tourism spoils a lot of places nowadays.
England needs some serious fixing
Heave a pawl lads we have to leave before dawn
❤️
Hey man amazing upload, where did you get the photo in black and white? Is it AI or an era past, do you know the year it was captured please my dear ? 😂❤❤
It's a genuine photo that I got from the Deal Museum
To healing,travelling and self rediscovering🥂
❤️🍻
Take care mate. Its very interesting how human psychology work. How come people see dreams together. All those promises, beutifull romance and intimacy, those cute little moments of joy and happiness. And then people drift apart and in no time find someone else. Crazy indeed. Heal up brother
Thank you ❤️
Sorry mate
Thanks
Not for me
Much love from the spectrum , in the stars and the earth, we still love you and are grateful. Thank you for being yourself mate 🙏💪🧘🏻♂️
Thank you, this means a lot!
The best night sky. Wish I had appreciated
It was beautiful!
Love this!!! Is the town dangerous though?
Not at all, very low crime rate 😂
I live there and bits do go on but jsut not often
Dang. Her cheatin-heart. Sorry mate. 3 of them bust ups myself, then finally met the love of my life - that was 15 years ago, still fresh. Keep your chin up and your eyes/ears open. Keep going.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I'm excited for the future!
Wow amazing, I am a Zimbabwean too and am impressed by your reflection of beautiful zimbabwe, love your channel❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
So funny😂😂
❤️
Loved the vid. I lived in Deal for my first 19 years moved to West Kent for 15 years then returned as I could not afford a house in the area. Now living in Australia. We come back to UK about ever 2 years. We use Airbnb, but it is sad that the houses we stay in would have been the local first time buyers property in the old days.
I mean, I get it, and I'm glad that folks are enjoying the town!
you had a lucky escape mate....good luck to you
Thank you 😊
💔💔💔 Thank You 💔💔💔 Thank You for sharing your story, you know what? With heartbreak comes endless rewards and new doors opening. You are a young buccaneer, you still have many lands to explore, many people to meet and many places to be. I had to start over after heartbreak in my late 50s... I'm now 64 years old.... travelled the entire Southern and Eastern African countries for three years now (after retirement). You will be just fine, the heart will heal and you will find new love. 💙💙💙
Thank you, this means a lot ❤️
Sorry to hear about your unfortunate marriage breakup. Everything happens for a reason. Perhaps God has other plans for you. Inspite of your bad experience, at least you enjoyed your stay in Zimbabwe. It's a beautiful country and with the experience you had you will find your feet. All the best in your future endeavours.
It is so beautiful, and thank you ❤️
Good Times,
😊
Truly awful, dismal, formulaic style of narration. Absurd and completely off-putting. I like Deal but I can't listen to this idiot.
I think it's a dump..ugly ,boring and dull.
Eh, to each their own. You're wrong, but you're allowed your opinion 😊
The problem with Deal is all the bloody DFLs.
I'm just glad that folks are enjoying this wonderful town.
Hi. I'm interested in moving to Zimbabwe. I currently live in the UK. What advice would you give
You need to properly set yourself up before you go. The visa process can be long and hard (unless you're married to a Zimbabwean) and expensive. Be prepared for extensive power cuts and difficult financials. If you've got money outside of the country, it's much easier. It's hard, but it can absolutely be worth it.
Wow, if we only had known Benzie can sing that well. You really have many talents. Hope to hear more in the future. Stay strong Cap!
Haha thank you!!!
What about Sandown castle Deals third castle? Fair enough it’s mainly a big flowerbed now but it was a castle nonetheless? 👍👊🇵🇸.
I talk about Sandown Castle in the full video this is cut from (linked at the bottom!) but here it was the "flanked by two IMPRESSIVE castles" 😅 emphasis on the "impressive" 😉 though I do like the coffee from the Hog and Bean van there.
@@cptkellyThanks for your reply, having been born in Deal and still living in Deal it’s close to my heart. All the very best, 👍👊.
Love and hugs to you. Wish I'd give you the biggest hug in the world, from Zimbabwe ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
All the best, staying subbed
Thank you 😊

I am notorious for ADHD do nothing until time to leave (early) just to arrive with time to spare and somehow that spare time turns into I forgot about my original plans, and get super surprised when I accidentally arrive at the venue late. Thinking OMG what are the chances!! If left unsupervised I am certain I will forget it’s my birthday party
Good morning. I just found you & gotta tell you, I was very touched by your video & insight into yourself. Bless your heart & know there's no mistake, only lessons & bridges in life. Thank you for sharing. Giving your experience I really need your thoughts. My husband is from Vic Falls, where I lived with him for (8) months in 2015-2016 but he's been in the states since 2017 & we'll be going on (9) years of marriage. Now for the quandary, I REALLY want to return to Vic Falls permanently but he is unsure with the political happenings. My question to you is, if you were able to buy your own home in Vic Falls & have a continual monthly income, would you prefer Vic Falls vs UK? Your thoughts would be very welcome. Thanks truly & I am beyond sorry what happened with Kerry. Your soulmate is now waiting to find you.
Thank you, your kind words mean a lot to me ☺️ as for Vic Falls, Zimbabwe is a tough country to live in. If you have a USD income (I had my other TH-cam channel paying my UK account) and connections to turn that into local currency, it's doable. Be aware that Vic Falls is still prone to power outages (not on the same scale as other areas, mind) so you'll want to get solar or a generator. It's a much quieter and more human (earthy?) way of life though, and I'm so glad that I got to experience it. I think it very much depends on your financial situation as to how comfortable you'll find it, and it's important to know what you value in lifestyle. If a quiet life, fishing, drinks with friends, drives into nature and watching the sunset is your thing, you can't go wrong!
@@cptkelly Thanks so much for responding back. As a former park ranger in the redwoods & boat patrol officer in Colorado, I just LOVE nature & culture. It's the best. One thing I forgot to mention, though maybe you know, (which I'm crushed about) is believe it or not, Vic Falls is slated to become a smart city. They have a HUGE solar panel field by the airport, HUGE hotels & golf courses going in & pretty much sold out the national parks & animals. Same with Kariba. At this point, with the US imploding inside & out from insane-os running it & the Zim Pres selling the soul of his country, I don't even know where to go anymore to retire to live just in nature. It's truly unbelievable. And lastly, is England really rioting & as bad as some of the videos I just saw showing that? I hope not, cause I LOVED England when I was there. The US will be next for sure. One day at a time & again thank you for sharing.
Best home ever ❤
Hello. What a pity that the local people have to pay such high rents now and that many shops have closed or are only open for part of the week. What are we doing to our local societies! I have suscribed. 😔😔 Thank you for showing us the real Deal. Great video.
Thank you! It's sad, but I am genuinely glad that folks get to enjoy my hometown
😎
I use alarms and timers as much as I can.
Iam so sorry my brother to hear that don't warrior God will bless you with your soil mate trust
@@philanimahla8094 thank you ☺️
😂😂😂 No I’m always late.
So easy to do! Worst is getting there super early so doing something to kill time, only to get so absorbed that you end up late anyways!!
