10:20 ok so i heard about this logic problem but i dont remember if it was the same name or not. however the concept was, if you can only move half the distance of what the turtle traveld, youll never get ahead of the turtle, no matter how small the gap is, or how fast you are, your always behind the turtle because of that stipulation.

If i remember correctly the comet observatory appears is 3d world/the spritzee kingdom, the group takes a rocket into the space of the spritzee kingdom and in the second level of the space world you see the observatory and unlock Rosalina. So wither the observatory can traverse dimensions from the main Mario dimension to the spritzee dimension or the sprtizee kingdom is somewhere on the map.

I think the "Omega is there, Robot Uprising" ending is so common because it's a neutral line Another type of mission and ending should have been put there to contrast with the "Kill Eggman" ending

ending 536: Shadow does absolutely nothing, leading to the conflict eventually dying down due to a stalemate. ending 537: Shadow does absolutely nothing, leading to essentially the same outcome, but Omega is there so Shadow decides to start a robot uprising for the funny.

I was NOT ready to hear that the Piantas colonized Delfino Island. It makes so much damn sense but DAMN!!!

Something you left out are the locations of the miis, specifically Spocco Square and Wuhu Island. I personally think Spocco Square is one of many different parts of the Metro kingdom as a whole with Wuhu Island being off the coast

I think almost all of it is just the emptiness, in Portal your supposedly being tested but you see no scientists or other subjects, in GMOD maps you can hear footsteps and cars and various sounds that logically should mean someone else is close by but there's nothing. Emptiness when you expect it is unnerving, emptiness when you don;t is terrifying

Also, another reason Dinosaur land broke into pieces is probably due to the whole GODZILLA SIZED BABY BOWSER that Yoshi fights, just sayin’

This threw me for a second, because I grew up with the German version of Link's Awakening, where he was unambiguoulsy called "Wart, der Musikfrosch". But then, Claude Moyse famously took liberties with his localisation ("Nie ohne Kondom!") so from a canonicity perspective I guess it's not gospel. But I will point out that "Mamu" is also Wart's name in the Japanese version of SMB2, and both games are dreams anyway so I don't see why they couldn't be the same character when it's only the English version that gives them different names.

Might get buried here but I'm such a nerd about this kind of thing, so I thought I'd offer a few random thoughts: 1. There might be some "Dark Land" in the Mushroom Kingdom that Bowser occasionally occupies, but I don't think he necessarily lives there. I tend to give precedence to Odyssey on stuff like this, because it has the most defined world map of any Mario game. I'd like to think that Bowser is at least originally from the Japan-inspired kingdom in that game. It's probably unlikely that the "lava worlds" seen in the New Soup games are the same as SMO's Bowser Kingdom, though. The latter is super small, and the mountains in Bowser's world bear close resemblance to those seen in World 6 in Bros DS and Wii. There is no lava world present in Bros U, though, so it's possible it is a separate island. Especially since the lava world is usually preceded by a cloud world, which could take place at least partially over the ocean. 2. The fact that everything on Isle Delfino is named in Italian implies that it was colonized by this universe's version of Italy, which would be the Luncheon Kingdom. I do agree with the vibe that the Piantas colonized the island, so maybe the Piantas are from there (they also bear a close resemblance to the Wooded Kingdom robots, so maybe they've been doing a lot of conquering!). Mario and Luigi's names are also Italian (or "Volbonian," I guess), which implies that they also descended from the Luncheon Kingdom. I think there is some Volbonian race of humans which is clearly separate from the more realistically proportioned humans in New Donk City that includes Mario and Luigi and possibly Peach. Was/Is the Luncheon Kingdom once a global empire that colonized the Mushroom Kingdom, Isle Delfino, and a number of other locations? This may explain why Princess Peach is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom despite being the only "human" in sight. 3. I am personally a supporter of the theory that Sarasaland is the unnamed continent in Odyssey. Not that it was necessarily intended to be, but I think it works out nicely for a number of reasons. First of all, it's positioned like Africa on the globe, and its eastern coast (where Egypt would be) looks a lot like a lion's face, which could reference the Gao creatures seen in the Birabuto Kingdom. The Muda Kingdom is representative of the Caribbean, which makes sense geographically. The Muda Kingdom could be that odd, bottle-shaped conglomeration of islands seen just north of what would be Sarasaland. It also borders the Seaside Kingdom (this world's equivalent of France), which would give the Muda Kingdom a lot of Bubblainian (French) influence just like our real-world Caribbean. I also think the theory about the Wario Land games taking place in the same vicinity makes a lot of sense here! The pirate themes would also make a TON of sense in the Muda Kingdom, Ohlaka Island bears a strong resemblance to the Easton Kingdom as you said, and Kitchen Island could be an island in the vicinity of Mount Volbono! Everything seems to fit very logically in that sea below the Seaside/Luncheon Kingdoms. Anyway, excellent work on this video! As you said, I'm sure there's no "right" answer here and it really comes down to opinions. Mario Odyssey came at a time in my life that allowed it to massively influence me, as one might be able to tell.

Counterpoint: Odyssey shows us paintings all around the world and in Peach's castle that allows Mario to travel to different points in the world by jumping into them! imo I think that could imply the same with SM64. Also the globe on SM64's cover art always gave me the impression that you're jumping into different locations around the world.

I got some really bad news for you with the Paper Mario thing... I've probably said this like 4 times up to this point but the first 3 are canon for sure. Especially the first one. I'm not gonna spend to much time on this but to summarize. Paper Mario 1 has the most references but the main thing that confirms it is Goomboss. Who Bowser said he made into a king with the star rod in Paper Mario mind you. Because he begged him. And he reappears in Mario 64 DS and Mario Kart DS. So in order for him to exist. Paper Mario must happen. Ttyd only has really one thing and it's really random. Basically you get Tutorials from Toadette. Who introduces herself as if Mario never meet her. And looking at the shirt being more simliar to what looks like a early design for her in Double Dash (her first appearance) That didn't make it into the final game. It's likely that Ttyd was meant to be her real first apperance. Super doesn't have any thing but it still probably is. The other 3 Paper Mario games are the world we see in Paper Jam. So, To be more accurate. You probably gotta add those locations from the first 2 games.
