Hi, I'm Bill. I make videos about Nomad Sculpt. Mostly…
Midjourney: Texture With A.I. Using Retexture v1
Midjourney has a new texturing feature called "Retexture" that reimagines any image in new ways. In this video I'll be pairing a Nomad Sculpt style 3D render with Retexture for some exciting results.

Project Neo is a fresh take on 3D. It's a tool for creatives who want to get ideas out of their heads quickly and without the ache. Have you played with womp at all?
No, I hadn't even heard of it. I just looked quickly. It has a similar modeling style to Adobe's Project Neo. I do like that style of non destructive modeling.
@ yeah I was sharing cause it looks a little more interesting than the adobe stuff and I assume more affordable.
@@Max10_B Totally appreciate it. Thanks for the share.

At this point you need to make a course for nomad. My fave nomad tutorials
Thanks so much. I am working on 3 beginner videos at the moment, focused on the basics and will keep adding more. The hope is that I'll have sort of a beginner's course before long.. So that's a coincidence you said that.
This video inspired me alot. Thank you so much. 🫶
It makes me happy to hear that. Thanks for the comment. Made my day.
You've done me a solid. I just can't get by without static image planes for reference. Hugely appreciated. Especially the aspect ratio solution! 👑
So glad to hear it. I know what you mean by the static image, it can be very limiting. Take care!
Great tutorial. Really learning a lot. Thank you
Love to hear you’re learning a lot. Makes me happy.
Awesome video, but I have a question that I can’t seem to find an answer to. Whenever I use the Tube tool I can’t get the points to move where I want them to. Like if I select the left side of the view I expect it to move the point forward, back, up and down, but when i move it it always drags the point left or right as well. If I select top view I expect it to move forward, back, left and right, but it always moves it up or down too.

Hello, Do you know how to easily create a support stand? Example is a support stand from pokemon scale world, that exactly support the pokemon. I want to know how to do it properly. how to support there stance
Do you have a link to an image? Perhaps I can figure it out if you share an image. I'm not familiar with the type of stands Pokemon use.

The house can be easily made with a square and a triangle, using blend on the triangle.
@@torinux4980Thank you. That’s good to know.
Hey, So is this something I would be able to export as a 3mf and load it into my 3D printer slicer and print it?
Umm, good question. I don't know the answer unfortunately. Dave Reed, a popular TH-camr that teaches Nomad Sculpt has used Nomad Sculpt many times to generate 3D prints. I might look into some of his videos. I have no experience printing anything yet. I hope to do so in the future. I'm sorry I can't be of help here.
Lovely tutorial! Facing one annoying issue though - When using the radial repeater for the cones on the ball, the centre is that of the handle instead of the ball…..Unable to figure out what I did wrong
I definitely can help, but I wasn't sure what you meant by "the centre is that of the handle instead of the ball". I'm going to offer a guess, but maybe you can correct me. Was it that when you went to add the cones to repeat around the balll, they were repeating as if the handle was the center point?
@@making-thingsAppreciate the prompt response! Yes, that is exactly what I mean..
You can move the entire repeater object by going to your Scene Menu and selecting the red repeater text, turn on the Gizmo and drag the entire group of spikes into place. Another way to fix it would be to start over by placing one spike on the ball using the insert tool, turn on the Pivot tool, drag the gizmo to the center of the ball, then turn Pivot off. With that spike selected, add a repeater and it should repeat around the pivot point. And since your pivot point is the center of the ball, all the repeating spikes should also rest on the ball nicely. Let me know if that helps or if you need more clarification. Happy to help.
One more extra note is that while you have a Radial Repeater repeating a single object, you can select the single object and move it's position to help bring it closer or further to it's center.
@@making-things Tried it, and it works! Thanks a ton!
some great tips thankyou

Super cool, didnt even thInk about using the profile like that
It's one of those tools that now feels limitless after discovering profile shapes. They updated it recently so you can adjust the grid size and make very elaborate profile shapes. The one I really like is making a tall but thin rectangle profile to be used for paper, flags, banners, cloth... Give it a try.
okay, ive been losing my mind trying to make a reference plane, because, for whatever reason , even when i follow along exactly with what you're doing, my reference image does not show up when i switch out the color texture. i dont know whats going on and its really frustrating! do you have any idea what kind of setting might be causing problems?
i ended up just re-installing nomad, which seemed to do the trick. not sure what setting was causing problems
Sorry to hear that. Any chance you can share your Nomad file with me? You can send to makingthingsonyt@gmail.com
you were likely on the wrong shading mode, this needs to be on lit or unlit to work, does not work in matcap

Hey!!! I don't know if is much to ask but can you make a tutorial making more stuff like this? I love this tutorial, i got a little bit confused but i got it!
Sure, I take requests. Do you mean make more hard surface tutorials or specifically make more tutorials based on the Face Groups + Hide technique?
@@making-things yes, I will love to see something from scratch to finish. I always look stuff like this made in blender and i can make them too on Nomad Sculpt!!!
@@making-thingsYes!!! More tutorials from you please
Thanks! This was super useful. The “random” first half was the useful part. Every 3D tool has clear cut ways to make practical stuff, but what I appreciate about nomad is how crazy and creative the shapes can get when you stack up multiple effects. With nearly 2 decades in zbrush, I find their lack of the non-committed shapes, or hierarchy incredibly limiting. I’m loving learning creative uses of nomad, and the more tangential your examples are, the more I can think of new uses of the tool.
This is really great to hear. You are reassuring my own instincts to continue making things I also think are random but more interesting. Thanks h2olt!
Man, all your videos are so helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to put these together and for making them easy to follow. I'm about 1 month into my Nomad obsession, no end in sight, and lighting is the tallest mountain I've gotten to yet. I mean, the program itself has tons of learning curves but the lighting... if you can't get good lights, it doesn't matter how cool the sculpt looks. This tutorial has given me a solid starting point and I'm psyched to dig in. So many great tips in these... selecting an object and turning on the Gizmo when you're bringing in a new primitive so that it's centered to that selected object... the rounding of cylinder ends by dropping the division x and y... Yeah, I just watched the Glow vid lol I've been centering a sphere at the end of tubes and remeshing them together. Anyway, this is truly great stuff and I just wanted give my thanks. You're a great teacher and these tutorials flow nicely. I look forward to your future videos. ✌
Let me start by saying how happy it makes me to hear I've helped you on your journey. Nomad is so much fun. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. If you haven't watch the Tube Tool video, that one is popular I believe because of the rounded tube. That's one of my favorite uses for the tube tool. Keep it up and so will I. I know I've been very slow to release videos lately, but I am dedicated to keep making videos. So thanks for staying tuned.
