Hello guys! Today I bring you another transcription of a long and complex song. "The Way You Look Tonight" by Jimmy Raney. While the harmony of this song is not complex, Jimmy's improvisation is. Classic bebop improvisation, where the lines extend in an unusual and asymmetrical way. There are long lines and other short ones and they extend over the harmony in a "strange" way. This is easier to explain in video, but many will understand it. Jimmy's style also has many ornaments (slides, hammer on, pull off) and also uses complex rhythms that destabilize you if you are not very focused. Anyway, I think this song is a university on its own when you see everything it contains. Hello everyone! Today I bring you the transcription of "Fly me to the moon" by Jim Hall. This is the 2nd transcription I've made of this song since I recently transcribed a Kenny Burrell version. The truth is that it's a quite complex version, at least rhythmically it has a high level of complexity, at least for my taste. It's just bass and guitar, which makes things quite rich rhythmically because of the freedom they have for being two instruments, but I repeat, this is how I perceive it, maybe you have a different perception of the song.
