    You've summed up my own view of the game's flaws almost perfectly. Most of these felt even worse in the DLC for me, especially in the later parts of it. I'll also add that Consort Radahn felt way too overtuned for my taste (before the nerf, anyway; maybe he's more manageable now, dunno). That said, I cannot stress enough how much have I enjoyed almost all the other boss battles (both in the base game and in the DLC). To me they are the highlights of this game, as the game's qualities all shine through them: the stunning visual art, the crispy audio, the hype inducing music, the fluid combat system, the old-school-inspired RPG mechanics and the fascinating worldbuilding. I definitely agree that many of the flaws should be criticised much more often (the fandom often seems way too fanatically apologetic about them, imo). But at the same time, I think that the game deserves all of it's praise considering it's unparalleled status as an immersive "carve out your own dark fantasy odyssey" simulator.

    Great video my guy. I agree with the cryptic storytelling, I like most fromsoft games but I love/hate that I have absolutely no idea what is going on and it's never really explained. I'm not asking for exposition dumps or 10 min cutscenes or anything, but I'd like an ounce of dialogue that isn't nonsense.

    Idk with the side quests, I never found them unclear. This is my first Fromsoft game and the quests seemed intuitive. Like if I didn’t know what to do next, the answer was always just a few educated guesses away. I like the design, it asks the player to do some problem solving without asking anything unreasonable. I get why people use guides tho, as some unique rewards require specific steps. Great vid

    I think my biggest problem with the reused enemies is that so many of them don't always feel like they have any real reason to be reused. Stuff like the Cemetery Shades are one thing, especially in the locations where we find them, but there are still so many enemies in Elden Ring that we don't know much of anything about, or anything that would give them good reason to be in these particular areas.

    Good point about large boss fights, camera angle could be better. I also found it funny that everything and everyone in the world is trying to kill you.

    The camera during first phase of Nameless King in DS3 also freaking shit.... this is just become fromsoft soulslike staple..... dont remember I have this problem in Sekiro against the Guardian Ape. Also, I agree with all of your point

    I absolutely love this game but agree with one note game play. Imagine an NPC asking you to take a walk to the nearest cliff view point while they talk about lore. Or some of the merchants teaching you to play a soothing instrument/skill like fishing. Hell, even a quest line that could only be completed with stealth/no weapons... but I still love ER. Great video!

    Elden Ring is my favorite game of all time, I love it even to its shittiest parts. But I agree and basically every point, Fromsoft has this strange development style of no innovation for certain things. Like for example the boss rush mode in Sekiro, why is this not just a staple now? Why wasn’t that in Elden Ring? I mean like, I don’t really care but what if it’s not in the next souls game too? The next game is going to be linear and image they remove jumping or something because it’s going to have that Dark Souls like feel.

    I never liked Torrent's appearance. I wish they add armor sets for him in a future game and even change his appearance to something more like the Night's Cavalry horse which looks so bad ass.

    what you say about the side quests is so true, how much fun it could have been to discuss it with friends before the internet like when i was young, i member and googling it, wondering how we might have discovered it for ourselves....great stuff i agree with everything you say other than your lack of a pvp section, a whole video could be made about that but i understand its not a pvp game so fuck it

    I think this was a wonderful video. I learnt something about the links of DS to OoT (which is one of my favourite games of AT). I think all your points are solid criticisms honestly. The one note point was also very interesting, and I tend to agree. There's many parts of this game that felt like they wanted to go down that path to do other things, like you said crafting, but ultimately the entire crafting system isn't really rewarding. So another side reward system other than exploration and beating stuff would certainly change the pace of it. Couldn't agree more with story telling Sekiro comparison.

    • @The_Talix
      @The_Talix 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for the kind words, really appreciated! Just a hunch, but I think maybe they had initially planned to have the crafting system play a larger role than it ended up being.

    camera would solve so many of the issues! also i usually play keyboard and mouse but for elden ring i bought a controller. i really wish camera + dodge wasn’t so awkward on controller. i also don’t mind the 2v1 boss fights as a gimmick, unless it’s vs NPCs! i dread the leda fight every time

    I played for the first time Monster Hunter World about two years ago with two friends, then we moved to Rise, and now I'm playing again World from scratch with some friends that have never played before. I completely agree with everything you said. For me at least getting a grasp on the game was tough in the beginning, I don't know if I would've carried on playing if I wasn't playing with friends. Now, after those tough first days, Monster Hunter has become one of my favorite franchises. Part of the mistake was on my stubbornness, as I was playing switch axe but it was not the weapon for me at that moment. I really started enjoying the game when I switched to dual blades. So for any newbie that may read this, changing weapons mid game is ok. There are fourteen weapons, just let's find the one that is for you. You will always have time to try it again later once you are more comfortable playing Monster Hunter. Regarding multiplayer I've read that in theory in Wilds we won't have again to wait for our friends to watch those cinematics so the experience should be smoother. Let's hope it's true.

    • @The_Talix
      @The_Talix 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes that's definitely true. Finding the right weapon for you can have a big impact on how the game feels as a lot of them play quite different to each other and there's nothing wrong with switching mid playthrough. I had a friend that was insistent on playing great sword but didn't like the slower speed drawback of the weapon. Once he switched over to something else he really enjoyed playing. Thanks so much for your comment, glad you enjoyed the video.
