I really wish the later entries in the series would've taken influence from the ending of MM7, the darker and more serious atmosphere on it would've been a perfect catalyst to tie in the reasoning why X was sealed in a capsule for testing. Imagine seeing this intro and thinking you get to play some cool action game where you blast aliens, only to get plasma grenade'd at the avenger's doors on your first turn. with the public release of the X8 demake now on the net (which I have yet to try myself), I felt I could give one of the tracks in the game a try, one that isn't just an import of that one specific midi file floating around the net. This one is the first one I can honestly say I tried to make it "X style", at least more than usually, rather than just it being a cover song. I was working on another Turrican track while I stumbled upon the Traps level theme, and the intro immediately made me think of the X2 intro stage, and the rest kinda just wrote itself.
