Mojo Rising EXT Storia V3 Shock tune
Here at GeoMetron and Mojo Rising we have 20 years of shock tuning experience… @geemilner filmed our tech at work 🔧.
We don't rely on adjusters, electronic Whizzardry and marketing fluff to get your ride experience the best it can be. Instead we use knowledge and craft to observe the rider on the bike to achieve the best balance.
We can set the shim stack to suit the bike, rider and preferred trails so that we can achieve the most suitable 'progressive' damping feel.
Whilst most of the rest of the bicycle industry aims for 'digressive' valving better suited to a suspended chassis with a lot of sprung weight, we aim for a 'progressive feel in both spring and damping, soft to start, firmer as speeds and loads increase.
A bicycle with its un-attached and mobile sprung weight NEEDS progressive damping because the loading of the bike can be zero and it can be maximum, but because the rider is unattached that loading happens progressively as the hands and feet transfer load to the bike. Every rider does this differently... This cannot be done with a 'blanket' rider weight settings chart!
In the video we are changing the main shim stack to suit rider preference and spring rate and changing the compression piston assembly valving to change the characteristics of the high speed adjuster to suit rider feel. The shock in the video is a GeoMetron G1 shock which has all the usual features of the EXT Storia V3 shock, including Hydraulic Bottom out Control, HSC, LSC and rebound adjust and progressive Lok system for bikes designs which need it! The GeoMetron G1shock also has Spherical bearings in the shock eyelets to eliminate stiction under side loads and it also has a negative spring to support the weight of the rear wheel at full extension.

After pumping 120 psi back there would be less pressure in the shock than there were when he initially checked the pressure before starting the maintenance procedure.

Hello, Can I ask You something? I have a Fox 36 Float 2012 RLC compression and I have a knock on every landing I make. I think the problem is either with the negative chamber spring and/or wrong lower bushing position. I am not sure if the pring haven't' gone softer and squashed? Can this fork accommodate this negative air spring option? Thank you very much!

The DDender is an unbeatable mudguard solution. The splattered face is a thing of the part. And so easy to remove/ refit so it doesn’t get ruined when the bike has to be carried inside a car.

Bought a G1 December 2020, just un-mulleted it and bumped the rear wheel travel up to 175mm thus stepped the spring up 25lbs. Wasn’t completely jazzed with the way it rode then I found this. I set the spring preload ring with the shock fully extend, not just under rear wheel weight. Set it up properly and holy Batman it rides perfectly. I am continually amazed how big of a difference tiny little changes make on this bike. I would love more videos from you guys about the G1.

would be interesting to know if the 'internal negative spring' is basically the same as the Rockshox Countermeausure feature on the super deluxe coil. I would presume it is as cant see any other way to enhance that initial breakaway force.

  • @useport80

how does this installation method differ from fox dhx2 or other rear coil cocks??

    • @geometronbikesmojorising9553
      @geometronbikesmojorising9553 3 ปีที่แล้ว

If the Internal negative spring is subject to excessive main spring preload it will offer no advantage as it will be fully compressed and top out, hence the careful preload procedure under the weight of the rear wheel. Conventional coil shocks have a solid, usually rubber bump stop.

  • @jim_morrison4583

    • @geometronbikesmojorising9553

Not quite so particular. Set the spring with minimal preload, wind the preload collar down to touch the spring, from there apply no more than 2 turns of preload.

I felt that my Fox Dpx2 was just a harsh feeling shock. However using slickoleum grease/Sram butter on dust seal made a huge difference in suppleness and small bump sensitivity. I thought it was just me but when I've done air car services I only used fox float fluid like fox recommends and it never really felt that better. Nowhere can I find that fox says use grease on seals even watching on their official videos. Using just that little bit of grease makes the shock feel absolutely amazing. SRAM BUTTER...MAKING FOX SHOCKS FEEL AMAZING. LOL
