Since the astroturf was laid a few years ago the pitch is open for community use which helps with income for the club. The first team train in edinburgh as most of the players are from edinburgh,glasgow etc. The area to the left of the stadium where the cabins are is extra changing rooms for community use, it once was training pitches for the first team when the pitch used to be grass. The plaque for davie marshall is for the ex groundsman and board member who sadly passed away a few years back… he won several groundsman of the year awards when the pitch was grass - it was a good surface to be fair!

The world's very first international football match was between Scotland and England in 1872 at the West of Scotland Cricket Club's ground in Partick, Glasgow, not far from Hampden Park. Also, don't believe all that English "Football's Coming Home" rubbish. Football as we know it today, the passing game, was invented in Scotland and Queen's Park Football Club taught the world how to play and how to design their stadiums. Also, the oldest football in the world, from the 16th century, is on display in Stirling Castle. It's all true. Look it up. Æ 🙏

Hi Eddy! It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley here. It's great to see you at the St Mirren football club, near where I was born and brought up. While my Dad and my brother are big fans of Glasgow Rangers and regulars at Ibrox, this is still our home club, as far as I'm concerned. I learned something new from your video and that was the club was originally in that area before it was at Love Street and it has returned home. I always knew Love Street as a kid, but I didn't know that. Talking about Love Street, that makes me think of a song from my all-time favourite band, The Doors. They recorded a brilliant song called Love Street. Unfortunately, it is not connected to St Mirren, as The Doors are from Los Angeles, California. Check it out though, on TH-cam. I'm pretty sure most of the fans know "where the creatures meet"... Did you notice there's a train station just across the road from the stadium called St James railway station? Very handy if you don’t want to drive or walk. You really must come back to Paisley and not just for football. Go to Paisley Abbey and Paisley Museum and Art Gallery to learn lots about our town. Google the 'Snail in the Bottle case'. That is fascinating, groundbreaking and world famous too! Do the Buddie Walk of Fame. Lots to see! Æ 🙏
