This has been the most difficult one of any of the bikes I have owned to access the battery. Miss that convenience for sure.

I haven't cleaned it or tuned it up. This unit was a friend's and I helped them get it working again. According to the owner's manual online, you should change the air filter once per month. Cleaning the condensing battery and condensate unit, if needed, should be completed by a qualified technician. I'm sure you can save yourself some money and do it yourself. Mine did the same thing. Ridge basically said they consider that normal wear and tear. They did give me a great discount code and I bought one of their carbon fiber wallets. So far it’s been great.

Pretty well :) Seems more like a plastic coating than paint.

Not that I know of unless they have done an update with those sports. They definitely should be added though as they both are great workouts.

Going to keep using it until it needs to be replaced. Still going strong except for the flaking. I've heard good things about the warranty though. Then one day I will be a little gentler with the new one.

Definitely a pain in the ass compared to just lifting the seat on other bikes I have owned. Good to do on a rainy day with a beer where there is no rush :) Sure beats paying labor to replace it at a bike shop as well.

Yes :). Still using it and still like it despite the front side issue. The money band side has no flaking except in the corners where I have dropped it. I’ve never had to replace any screws and the elastic band is original. Still the best wallet I have owned.

You have your bike kitted nicely for a long trip. The new battery I put in was the YTX14-BS. The old one in there before lasted quite a few years before needing to be replaced. I haven’t had any issues with it draining fast. I do keep it on trickle charge when not in use. Hopefully you will be able to get to the bottom of that. I don’t have any of those accessories that you have.

Apparently he gets the clicking sounds as well. Sorry, I am not sure what is causing it.

I have a Unico Pro Inverter which is similar to this model. The clicking you are hearing is probably the relay to open the drain valve/solenoid. These units have two float valves which tell it when the condensate tray has water and when it is full. When on a cooling program you might hear a pump cycle water to the upper coils as an energy saving feature. I have had two of these units (one failed prematurely) and with both units, they struggled to drain the water as the drain valve stops working. The condensate tray easily gets full of debris from the intake fan and bio matter will grow in the tray but even after a thorough cleaning, the valve just seems to have failed prematurely. Looks like that is what happened in this video as the valve should open to let the water drain out the condensate line well before the unit errors out.

Thank you for the replies. It has been helpful. I haven't had any error codes or anything. But I will keep an eye on the drainage valve to make sure it doesn't clog up. Much appreciated for the help. It's been working fine now in winter for heating. It seems to work better for heating than cooling.

I've driven both. Both are a lot of fun, but for long ride comfort and smoothness, I'll take the ZX14R. I've never changed a battery on a Hayabusa. I assume it is a lot easier.

It’s easy to see why mechanics charge so much these days…because they can… people like you afraid to tackle a battery because it’s behind a fairing or panel, just pathetic…you don’t deserve a penis.

No it wasn’t powder coated. It is one of the old ones and has a plastic type coating.
