Vinyl soffit corners! Easy!

This video shows a way to miter your vinyl soffit even with no “H” channel. The contractor we’re doing this job for did not send any, so we had to improvise. Lots more to come, and videos WILL get better! Thanks for watching!!

    I watch a lot of videos online of people Roofing they must not be from a hot State most of the time the shingles out here get a hundred eighty degrees and if you're not wearing gloves after 40 squares your fingers are going to be gone. Roof however fast you want I choose quality over speed the speed comes with knowledge. Who gives a shit what ppl say most of them dont have a hard job so their opinion is shit!

  • @raymondcompton6290
    @raymondcompton6290 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm not sure if you want it to look that way on a 45 miter. I simply make a 90 degree cut then bend it in on itself so the face of the f (or j-chanel) just has an overlap. (much the same as j-channel on a gable peak). Bonus look would be to take your knife and slice off the inside of the hem for a tighter outside miter. This would be acceptable if the exterior is getting brick as it would be hidden but for a normal outside corner the gap would show.

      5 nailing first of all. I hit the one at the end when I come back so I don’t have to reach. Ice and water shield isn’t required. We use it in valleys or around obstructions. Lastly, this is a garage, they didn’t want it. Nice try though! Love you too!

    It would've been faster and easier just to install that vent as you roof that spot

    • @buckethead1928
      @buckethead1928 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not in the slightest.. I’ve done it every way you can do it. There now way it’s faster to cut it in as you’re roofing. Especially if you get paid per square and need to get the shingles laid or if you need to get the house dried in.

    • @travissmith3720
      @travissmith3720 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks like you took longer than was necessary to install that vent at that location. One thing tho , is that type of technique doesn't guarantee water from running off of the flange onto deck underneath the shingles. So it's not even 100 % waterproof

    • @buckethead1928
      @buckethead1928 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It absolutely doesn’t go under shingles and they’re installed the same as if you cut them in as you went. You’re an idiot.

      Curious. Why do I keep see vents to in after the side is shingled? Are the vents still at the roof supply? Is it faster? Is it cleaner? I’ve always just put them in and came back to trim the shingle around after it warms up a bit but I’ve never chose to shingle over vent holes. And what if your laborer or something steps there wout knowing or even a homeowner. Idk. Just trying to understand. The final install was very clean loookjng tho. Watertight most likely

    • @buckethead1928
      @buckethead1928 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jerry Walker it is much faster and easier to roof over them, and cut them in after. The vent holes are usually small enough that with the paper plus the shingles over them, a quick step wouldn’t go through. We mark them and make everyone aware of where they are at. Also, we normally cut them in same day, and homeowners are advised not to be on roof during process- or at all really. Once we install a roof we warranty it, therefore any traffic after it’s installed should be by us to ensure it doesn’t get damaged. If you use the tricks ive showed and explained, you would likely realize it’s much more effective this way. However, to each their own, just giving options!!
