About 11 miles average on that trip when towing (versus 25 miles without towing)

$950 was the total we paid for a week long rental for the trailer (for dropping at another state/location) plus the insurance combined. (I think the insurance was $75 ).

Which Uhaul trailer you eventually took and how it works? I’m thinking about the same thing

@@easonshen9137 I used the uhaul hitch and had uhaul install it on my Subaru. I pulled a 6x12 fully loaded from Kansas to Texas and it was perfectly fine!

How much was the final bill to U-Haul?@@toddphysique

Right. My experience was exactly the same. If its out of warranty, my recommendation is to open the subwoofer box using a prybar or flathead screwdriver and see if there is any loose connections, or cables needs to be plugged in all the way. Open the screen on speaker side only if you can't find any issues on the electrical side (because the screen plastic can easily get pry damage by forcefully opening it) If its not already working, we can't really do any more damage to it by opening it, so best of luck. I used paper glue to put it back together, and it is still working great (after about 2 month), just as it was brand new.

I have HW-J8501. general problem is when Mosfet gets broken, it causes fuse to blow. Easy fix is to replace board. Which is common in many different models: AH44-00323 (different revisions A, B, C...)

Would a cvt actually matter? We're considering doing this with a 2017 outback with a CVT. is that an issue for us?

This outback in the video is also cvt.

@@gumbydizz3842should be no problem why would it? The CVT keeps the revs at optimum speed all the time.

They said in another comment it was a 4 cylinder

The best place to start is 1) Checking your vehicle's towing capacity (google search is usually the easiest, rather than going through its manuals) 2) Estimating the weight of your cargo. 3) Checking your towing hitch, receiver, balls etc are rated for the load. My car was also a 4 cylinder suv with a towing capacity of about 3000 pounds. The empty trailer weighs 1800 lbs, so we limited our cargo to about 1200 lbs. (total about 3k lbs) . I am positive my car and trailer could have handled more, but following their recommendations gave us peace of mind. Here's a few tips from my experience: 1. Only try to pass other semi's when there is an easy long road or downhill. We lose speed faster than semi's on up-hills and can get stuck on the passing lane for a while - that is no fun and that is where people make most mistakes in towing. 2. See if there is an easy way to get out (like drive through) before getting into tight places rather than reversing. Reverse gear should only be used in limited circumstances. 3. Take plenty of rest area breaks and avoid rush hour driving & big cities as much as possible. Stay in the truck lane as much as possible. - It's easier to drive in the night/early morning when its cool outside and less traffic. That way you don't have to use AC and overload/overheat the car engine. - I think it's best to avoid moving to any southern state in summer, especially Texas. Best time would be Nov thru April. 4. Its best to avoid (or limit stay in) hotels on long tow (& make sure there is room in your vehicle for a nap when you are tired). That way you can pause and resume your journey whenever you want without wasting a lot of time(& money) on booking/detours/check-in. Also dont have to worry about detours, parking, etc. 5. Keep plenty of drinking water and snacks/fruits and it saves unnecessary detours for food. I just realized all of these boils down to having the mentality of a truck driver. I wish you the best.
