November 2024 President's Message
Jan Partin, President of the UUFH Board of Directors, shares updates and reflections with the community. She acknowledges the aftermath of the election, urging everyone to take a moment to breathe before we discuss how to move forward.
She highlights several recent improvements and projects at the church:
- The Family Ministries classrooms have new flooring, thanks to Sunday Parker and a volunteer team.
- Mold was found under the coffee-serving cabinets, and a restoration project is underway, led by Noble Smith, Lee Nichols, and Charlie Mitchel.
- Rev. George secured $10,000 in disaster relief funds to help families in need.
- Jan also mentions a successful Mountain Retreat, thanks to Becky Reid and Rev. George, and encourages everyone to mark their calendars for next year's event. The Octoberfest Auction raised over $10,000, and Ed received special praise for his leadership in organizing it.
Finally, she discusses a forum on church signage, noting that the group will take time to decide how to present themselves moving forward.
