In this series I will be unpacking the concepts of the Bhagavad Gita. My inspiration for the series came from the audiobook by Jack Hawley - The Bhagavad Gita a Walkthrough for Westerners. I will be referencing Jack’s book as well as other Bhagavad Gita resources found online. I’ve included relevant links in the description below. This series will be my further exploration and personal understanding of the Gita. I hope you find this to be beneficial for you and your personal journey.
Ramayana - Chapter 08: Exile
Prepare to dive into one of the greatest epics of all time: the Ramayana! This ancient Indian tale follows the heroic journey of Prince Rama, a virtuous warrior exiled to the forest alongside his devoted wife Sita and loyal brother Lakshmana. Their adventure takes a dark turn when Sita is kidnapped by the fearsome demon king, Ravana, who rules over the mythical island of Lanka. Determined to rescue her, Rama assembles a powerful army of allies, including the mighty monkey warrior Hanuman, and embarks on a thrilling journey filled with magical encounters, epic battles, and divine interventions.
As Rama faces seemingly insurmountable challenges, he demonstrates courage, loyalty, and the strength of dharma (duty), teaching timeless values that resonate through the ages. This story of good versus evil unfolds with high stakes and unforgettable characters, each embodying distinct virtues and flaws.

Chapter 8 - Exile
King Dasharath was horrified by Queen Kaikeyi’s request. He desperately tried to persuade the Queen to retract her wishes. However, the queen was adamant in her decision and the King was honor bound to fulfill the boons he granted to her.
Manthara, the Queens handmaiden, had planted seeds of insecurity, fear and jealousy into the mind of Kaikeyi.
The handmaiden knew that Prince Rama was loved by members of the court and citizens alike. It was not enough that the Queens son, Bharat be named King instead of Rama. Rama had to be sent away so that Prince Bharat could win the hearts and minds of the people of the kingdom without the constant reminder of the King that could have been.
Heartbroken King Dasharath finally accepted his Queens decision, and he sent for Prince Rama.
The King informed Rama of Kaikeyi’s demands and the boons granted to her. Rama would be exiled to the forest to live the life of an ascetic for fourteen years, and Bharat would take his place on the throne.
Prince Rama was taken aback, but his response surprised the King. “Father, the Kings word should always be kept, and it is my duty as a son to do whatever I can to ensure this.”
Prince Lakshmana was not so understanding when he found out the news. He was furious and threatened destruction on the entire kingdom including his father for this injustice.
Rama calmed his fiery brother and reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his duty to upholding his father’s word. Sita and Lakshmana refused to let Rama face this trial alone, choosing instead to accompany him into the wilderness.
As they departed, the kingdom of Ayodhya fell into deep sorrow, and Dasharatha’s heart shattered with grief.
Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana began their journey into the unknown forests, far from the comforts of their royal life.
Their days were filled with challenges, from battling wild beasts to navigating treacherous terrains. Yet, the forest also held beauty - the trio found peace in their simple existence.
However, danger was never far behind. A demoness roaming the forest found herself enchanted by the handsome Prince Rama and desired him for her own.

The good attempt to easily understand Mahabharata young people, same way Cholas & Pandian stories it’ll use, I saw OM symbol in Tamil, so I asked this request 🙏🏼
That was wonderful. Thank you.
💚
Thank you. I want to buy the Mahabarata in English with commentary which one should I get?
I wouldn't be able to recommend any particular one. I drew inspiration from the works of Sudipta Bhawmik and Avi Ziv in their series “Stories of the Mahabharata” shows.acast.com/thestoriesofmahabharata as well as the illustrated “Mahabharata” by Manoj Publications www.manojpublications.com. I also drew heavily from the Starplus Mahabharat series on youtube - it wasn't available in english but I got what was going on since I was working from a number of English references from blogs online.
Thank you. Must of been a lot of work. Appreciate you.
Is there any reason why you aren't saying their names properly? why are you anglicizing them?
Likely just my accent. I'm Indian but not Indian.
@arjunaavatar6368 so am.i and I even know
Is there specific instances you can refer to?
@@arjunaavatar6368 their names bharat and ram
It's not your accent your anglicizing their names
Beautifully made and narrated ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Just wish Sita's clothing was more modest. Otherwise loving this series.
Will keep that in mind :)
Had some technical issues so a bit late in relation to usual weekly schedule. Will hopefully catch up this weekend. Enjoy :)
I am deeply thankful 🙏🏼
Je suis obligée d apprendre anglais pour regarder la vidéo 😑. Je fais un effort ça vaut la peine
C'est super. Merci
This is wonderful thankyou for your time and hard work😊😊😊😊❤❤❤
Bro please improve background sound add some interesting sound otherwise everything is good😊
I am 16 seconds in and feel it’s already time to say thank you for your hard work and commitment. Thank you

First chapter: Arjun was confused to kill his relatives because war will kill all khashtriya and their wife will marry with others caste and it will destroy Dharma. In books mother kills own sons, brother kill brothers nad it is still story of god. Lol
Which first chapter did you watch?

your work is splendid, my friend. I’m from Brazil, with little to none exposition to anything related to Hinduism. Somehow I’ve found your Mahabharata 3h video and I was hooked. Amazing piece. Now I can’t wait for the full Ramayana. Thank you SO MUCH for this! You are certainly reaching people you’ve never thought you’d reach.
I followed the whole story and it was captivating. Thank you so much.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Finally with lots of "real" side stories, very honestly someone put the epic, which has more stories once this captivating "root" version is heard. Very pleased ... & satisfied. Before this, when I was a kid, I read and imagined all this, with parts of pictures in Amar Chitra Katha in India. * This video is great! *
Fisherman king? There can be kingdom like that?🤔 there is issue with translation.
Maybe he was more of a fisherman chief
@ May be but Mahabharata did not describe him as chief. Western translations and interpretations are always biased. No where in scriptures (Veda, Puranas, Bhagvats, Skindhs and epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat depict that class system and caste systems are (were) locked perpetually but conversion crowd busy in propaganda to establish and make believe population following myth created by people such as gobels that repeated lies and prevarication would eventually convince people to believe their lies as truth and take actions on it. In this case opt in to convert.
That was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for your hard work. This is one of the greatest stories ever told.
underrated af
The stories are mesmerizing. Thank you.
1:39:06 Arjuna being tempted to remain in heavenly pleasures reminds me of a scene in "Through the Eyes of Desperation" (terrible book, Jules Dapper made a funny review) when the main character, a her*in add*ct, wants to save a woman's life, but he's just taken a dose, so he falls asleep and wakes up to find he's too late - it's a horribly tragic moment because the consequences of his own weakness are before him, alive one moment and not the next
Thank-you very much....your superb narration with the music is beautifully united.
Today is Geetha Jayanthi. Must read Bhagavad gita today.😊
Thank you for this! Do you have plans on uploading on Spotify?
Yes - The questions been mentioned in comments before. Just need some time to research and plan around it.

50:50 correction: Karna was Suta not Shudra.

Amazing work. Thank you very much. I have a question. In 2:27:00 there was a mention of Narayeni Sena (army) and one of the picture shown was of beings with lion head (feline beings) or lion people. Why did you pick that picture? Was Narayeni sena consists of feline beings? I have known feline being (or cat people) as Urmah. They are also considered and described as a strongest, powerful, fearless and highly skilled army similar too Narayeni army. Are they same ? Do you or anyone else have any idea about this? Thank you.
Good question. Honestly I went with that picture because it looked more dramatic and it lent itself visually to a previous half lion/half man incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
A million thanks for your work. Most grateful. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you!
Good to know
1:34. The 3 Gates to Hell ? Why does that sound like religious programming BIG TIME & Christian flavored in guilt to boot ! --- HEADS UP THERE , the idea of Hell --- is a psy-ops created by the Unholy church and the Vatican soul-less chameleons residing there --- all created and fed daily to enslave people with FEAR PORN, spewed for the gullible! --- --- NO SALE HERE --- --- Odd opening the first minute and a half, --- one very eye opening too, about any furture words spoken ! --- ---- my intuition tells me loudly ---- BUYER BEWARE IN THE EXTREME --- that is what that screams to me ! ---- --- an interesting offering, but now viewed wth great, GREAT DISCERNMENT and LOTS OF CRITICAL THINKING ! --- from Canada. J.
Depends on your interpretation of hell. The 3 gates referred to here are Desire, Greed and Anger. When these attributes get taken to excess it will lead to a personal hell.
An updated version that has a higher level of background music. This was very much a personal preference so both versions now available on the channel :)
I Appreciate This So Much!! (Don’t Be Swayed By Pleasure Or Praise, lol This My 25 Time Listening To This Audio Summary) & The Music Makes it So Much More Immersive 10/10 Video 💯

And one day a man just appeared in the forest 🤣 and he was a king beautiful fairytales!
Please can you please put the original version with the louder background music back up.
yes - will post an alternative version this weekend
th-cam.com/video/HRYR7KkU3QM/w-d-xo.html
What does that mean by selfish desire ?
Yes - a tricky one - in my interpretation - desires that lead to attachment and greed. Ego driven desire for personal gratification at the expense of righteousness. An internal way to remedy this would be to dedicate all your actions and desires to a higher power, this helps to control the ego.
💛🙏
💛🙏
Nice one, nicely interpreted!!!
Excellent
Beautiful. Beautiful. Your voice and the way you deliver the story is absolutely superb. Please continue your god work. Love from Sri Lanka ❤
